Aren

Aren is a French commune in the Pyrénées-Atlantiques department in the Aquitaine region of south-western France.

The inhabitants of the commune are known as Arenais or Arenaises.

Geography

Aren is located some 14 km north-west of Oloron-Sainte-Marie immediately south of Saucède. The commune is divided into two portions - the eastern portion contains the village and is bordered in the north and east by the Gave d'Oloron. This portion is connected to the western part located to the west of the Joos river by the D325 road (which is part of the commune). Access to the commune is by the D936 road which crosses the "neck" of the commune and connects to the D325 road which goes east to the village. The D59 road also goes from the village south-west to Saint-Goin. The D25 also connects the "neck" of the commune to Préchacq-Josbaig in the north and crosses the Gave-d'Oleron north of this village - the nearest river crossing to the commune. The eastern portion of the commune consists of the village and farmland. The western portion, which has no hamlets, is heavily forested with some 30% of farmland.

And I

"And I" is a song written by American R&B singer Ciara, and produced by Adonis Shropshire for Ciara's first album, Goodies (2004). It was released as the album's fourth and final single on August 30, 2005 (see 2005 in music) in North America.

The song was originally the third choice for the fourth single. Ciara has mentioned in an interview that "Thug Style", "Hotline" or "Pick up the Phone" would be the fourth single, but when Ciara suggested "And I" to executives at her previous record label LaFace, they were unhappy because they wanted "Next to You" to be the fourth single.

Chart performance

At the time of the U.S. release of "And I", Ciara's collaboration with Bow Wow, "Like You", and her collaboration with Missy Elliott, "Lose Control", were at the height of their popularity. "And I" peaked at 96 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 and 27 on Billboard's Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Singles & Tracks chart, which were poor positions compared to those attained by the first three singles from the album Goodies. It was not released outside North America because of this, and it is Ciara's least successful single.

Kardinal Offishall

Jason D. Harrow (born May 12, 1976), better known by his stage name Kardinal Offishall /kɑːrdᵻˈnæl oʊfᵻˈʃæl/, is a Canadian rapper, record producer, and record executive. Often credited as Canada's "hip hop ambassador", he is regarded as one of the country's best hip hop producers, and is best known for his distinctive reggae and dancehall-influenced style of hip hop.

A native of Toronto, Offishall began his career in the city's mid-1990s underground hip hop scene, as a member of The Circle. He released several independent 12" singles, a debut album (Eye & I), and an EP (Husslin'), before signing with major label MCA Records in 2000. The following year, Offishall released his second album, Quest for Fire: Firestarter, Vol. 1, spawning the Billboard hit "BaKardi Slang", which popularized Toronto's nickname "T-dot", and the minor hit "Ol' Time Killin'"; both singles became his signature songs. After failing to release the Firestarter Vol. 2 album in 2003, on MCA, and later Geffen Records (which absorbed MCA), Offishall briefly returned to the underground scene, releasing several more independent 12" singles.

Tim Chaisson

Tim Chaisson (born September 6, 1986) is a Canadian singer/songwriter from Souris, Prince Edward Island. He is also a world-class traditional fiddle player and is featured performing fiddle along with guitar, mandolin, and piano.

Early years

Tim Chaisson is a member of the Chaisson family, who are prominent in the music scene of Prince Edward Island. Though he had been playing many instruments since he was a child, Chaisson began his professional career at the age of 14 when he was asked to join Celtic/contemporary band Kindle with his two brothers and three cousins as their bassist. He was the youngest member of the group, touring from 2000 to 2005.

Solo career

At the age of 15, Chaisson embarked on a solo career locally, and released his first solo album, Timothy Chaisson, which mainly focused on traditional songs. In 2004, he released his second independent album, where Chaisson was able to showcase his songwriting and instrumental abilities. This album, Something Acoustic, was a mixture of traditional and original songs as well as traditional fiddle tunes. Chaisson later recorded his album, Even, which featured 10 original songs. It features Chaisson’s instrumental abilities playing acoustic and electric guitars, bass, drums, piano, mandolin, fiddle and vocals. Released in 2006, it received many awards and nominations. Later in 2011, he was chosen as Musical Director for the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s highly publicized Royal Visit to PEI.
