A Day At A Railway Junction... An Indian Railways Documentary:
Indian Railways is the second biggest railway network in the world. Most of its stations address hundreds of trains every day, especially the junction stations which handle trains from multiple sources. A station administration not only has to take care of train movement, but also has to provide various services to the passengers and maintain their safety. It is truly a huge process which involves many departments and their systematic co-operations to make all ends meet. If one part of it fails whole system will suffer resulting in delay or more severe consequences.
This visit to Indian Railways’ one such busy junction station (Kharagpur Junction) primarily sheds light on a station administration’s crucial routine works in the sector of train operations, signaling, maintenance, security, passenger health and on the amenities provided to the passengers to make journeys faster, cosier and safer.
** This documentary is planned, filmed, directed and edited all by myself without any prior knowledge, training or experience. This is my very first experiment with film making. I am grateful to my department for giving me this opportunity. The whole project was done (planning, filming & editing) under 15 days ***

At last the wait got over for Mr Pradip Sarkar. The chairman of Kharagpur Municipal Corporation on Friday took his colleagues and friends to Bombay Cineplex to watch the first day first show of MS Dhoni- An Untold Story. Pradip also has another identity which many might not be aware of. He is one of the best friends of Dhoni in Kharagpur. The biopic opened with a massive response today in Kharagpur like other places in the country.

Kharagpur 
pronunciation (Bengali: খড়্গপুর) is an important industrial city in Paschim Medinipur district of West Bengal, India. It is multi-cultural and cosmopolitan city. It is the most populated city of Paschim Medinipur district. The first Indian Institutes of Technology (IIT), a group of Institutes of National Importance, was founded in Kharagpur as early as in May 1950. It is 116 km from Kolkata and forms an important station on Howrah-Mumbai, Howrah-Chennai road and railway route. This city also has one of the largest railway workshops in India, and the third longest railway platform in the world (1072.5 m). Kharagpur has an Air Force base in Kalaikunda, and another in Salua. There have been plans by the IAF to allow civil flights in Kalaikunda.It is one of the four cities where national sports are held.Other being Kolkata,Siliguri and Durgapur.
History
Historically, Kharagpur was a part of the Hijli Kingdom and ruled by Hindu Oriya rulers as a feudatory under Gajapati Kings of Orissa. Historians claim that in the 16th century, Kharagpur was still a small village surrounded by dense forests. The village was on high rocky barren land. The only inhabited settlement near Kharagpur was Hijli. Hijli was a small island village on the banks of the Rasulpur River, in the delta of Bay of Bengal. It developed into a port town in 1687. Hijli was also a province and it existed until 1886. It covered parts of Bengal and Orissa. It had important towns like Tamluk, Panskura, and Debra, along with the Kelghai and Haldi rivers on the north, south, and east sides bounded by Bay of Bengal and Kharagpur, Keshiary, Dantan, and Jaleswar on the west.

Sundar Pichai
Pichai Sundararajan (born 1972), better known as Sundar Pichai is the Chief Executive Officer of Google Inc. Formerly Product Chief at Google, Pichai's current role was announced on August 10, 2015, as part of the restructuring process which made Alphabet Inc. into Google's parent company. He assumed the position upon the completion of the process on October 2, 2015.
Early life and education
Pichai was born in Chennai,Tamil Nadu, India, in a Tamil family to Lakshmi and Regunatha Pichai. He spent his childhood in Madras (now Chennai). His father was a senior electrical engineer in General Electric and managed a factory that made electrical components. Sundar grew up in a two-room apartment on 46th Street, 7th Avenue, in Ashok Nagar, Chennai. Sundar completed his Class X at Jawahar Vidyalaya, Ashok Nagar Chennai and completed the Class XII from Vana Vani school located in the IIT, Chennai. Pichai earned his degree from Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur in Metallurgical Engineering. He holds an M.S. from Stanford University in Material Sciences and Engineering and a MBA from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, where he was named a Siebel Scholar and a Palmer Scholar, respectively.

Chandika Asthan,considered as one of the sacred Shakti-Peeth out of 64 Shakti-Peet available on the earth .
Kastaharni Ghat,beautiful bank of The Ganga.
Tomb of Pir Shah Nufa,Sufi saint from Persia who was sent to Munger by Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti of Ajmer in 1177.
Bhimbandh Wildlife Sanctuary, covers an area of around 682 km2 consist of a hot water spring, sambar, chital, nilgai, wild boar, tiger and panther.
Pirpahar, tomb on hill near bank of Ganga.
Sitla Mandir, a marbled Lord Shiva temple made between a small pond near Matriye Sadan hospital.
Lord Badi Durga Maa temple situated at Shadipur, a place in Munger.
Jai Prakash Udayan also known as Company Garden, because it has been made during an era of British rule when they came here as East India Company. It is a very beautiful garden and it is also a famous picnic-spot.
The Kali Pahadi at Jamalpur is also a place of interest in Munger. It is a range of hills and mountains where people go for fun.it is a famous picnic spot.
Ecological Golf course at Jamalpur.it is one of the oldest golf course of India.it is an 18 hole Golf Course owned by Indian Railways.
Sita Kund in Daryapur, Munger. It is a place where Maa Sita had given her Agni Pariksha it had hot water spring .
Rishi kund, a hot water spring.

People from various nearby place come to various Ganges ghats on religious occasions. The city also see huge crowd during Durga Puja festival.
Kastaharni Ghat is one of various bathing ghats on the Ganges and religiously the most significant. This is one of the few places where the Ganges meanders and flows in the northern direction (Uttarvahini Ganges). Because of this it is considered very auspicious by Hindu believers.
Chandika Sthan is one of the sixty-four shakti peeth spread across India and is situated on the north-east corner of Munger. It sees a huge crowd of devotees all round the year and specially during Navratras.
Munger has one of the oldest railway manufacturing units and also the Tobacco factory owned by ITC Limited.
Earlier spelled Monghyr and now Munger it has a rich and glorious past and stories abound. Madarsa Rahmania is the largest Islamic School in the state.
