Zhukovsky Airfield (ICAO: UUBW), also known as Ramenskoye Airport (Russian: Аэропорт Раменское), is an airport in Moscow Oblast, Russia located 40 km southeast of center Moscow and in the town of Zhukovsky. Named after nearest town of Ramenskoye. It serves as a major aircraft testing facility since the Cold War years with the majority of the major Russian OKBs having facilities on the airfield. It is also now used by the Ministry of Emergency Situations and cargo transportation. This airfield was also used as a test site for the Soviet Buran Spacecraft.
The airfield is a part of Gromov Flight Research Institute and hosts the biennial MAKS Airshow.
Ramenskoye Airport is also home to the world's second longest public-use runway, at 5,402 m (17,723 ft).
Until June 2006, flights in jet fighters for the public have been available, also to international customers. The following doubleseater jets were available for public flights on Zhukovsky: Aero L-39 Albatros, Mikoyan-Gurevich MiG-21 Fishbed, Mikoyan-Gurevich MiG-23 Flogger, Mikoyan-Gurevich MiG-25 Foxbat, for Edge of Space flights, Mikoyan-Gurevich MiG-29 Fulcrum and Sukhoi Su-27 Flanker. Since June 2006, no public flights are available in Zhukovsky, although it has been said since then that the flights will be available again. Today jetflights in Aero L-39 Albatros are possible in Russia with the team Vyazma Rus, flights with the Mikoyan-Gurevich MiG-29 Fulcrum and Mikoyan-Gurevich MiG-31 Foxhound have been available on Sokol Airfield. At the moment, only the MiG-29 is available for flights.

Avia Solutions Group, in partnership with Russia's largest state-owned holding company Rostec, will develop and manage the fourth Moscow airport hub - Ramenskoye International Airport. The airport will include two passenger terminals, a cargo terminal, aircraft maintenance facilities, hotel, a large commercial center as well as other infrastructure. It will be designed precisely for the needs of low-cost carriers. The Ramenskoye airport development plan foresees the attraction of over 600 million LTL in a form of investments, construction of 240 000 sq. m. of aviation and other relevant infrastructure, creation of 10 000 jobs and servicing over 20 million passengers by 2022.

Moscow's new Zhukovski airport welcomed its first international flight when Belavia plane transported the first 133 passengers from Minsk, Monday. East of the Russian capital, the previously closed military facility that was occasionally used for aircraft testing, was refurbished with a new terminal building for civilian use. Dmitri Shugayev, the Deputy Chairman of Ramport Aero, said that the transport hub, also known as Ramenskoye airport, will soon conduct flights to 23 countries including Israel, Turkey, Germany and other European destinations. Officials from the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations (EMERCOM) loaded equipment onto planes at the Ramenskoye Airport near Moscow, Sunday, as they prepared to fly to Volgograd to assist local rescue teams after two explosions rocked a residential building in the industrial city earlier in the day. On 6 July, a Russian Emergency Control Ministry (EMERCOM) An-148 plane flew from Ramenskoye Airport near Moscow, Russia, to Reus airport in Spain to performed the aeromedical evacuation of a seriously ill Russian citizen in need of urgent medical care. The aircraft was configured with medical modules required to monitor the patient and to provide any necessary assistance during the flight. EMERCOM’s onboard crew included medical personnel from the State Central Airmobile Rescue Squad ‘Tsentrospas’, as well as psychologists from the Centre of Emergency Psychological Aid.
Relatives of the 14 children killed in a lake tragedy in Karelia on Saturday, began arriving at a morgue in Moscow, Monday, to begin identifying the deceased. The bodies were transported late last night by Russia’s Emergencies Ministry (EMERCOM), to the Ramenskoye Airport in the Moscow Region. Fourteen children drowned after two catamarans and one raft from a summer camp were caught in a storm on Lake Syamozero in Karelia on Saturday. In total, 51 people, including 47 children and four adults, were on board the vessels during the storm. According to Russia’s Investigative Committee, five people have been arrested so far including the director of the Park-Hotel Syamozero where the children stayed.
