Thanks to everyone who has dropped me a line in the last couple of days. I'm glad that other people seem to enjoy my posts as much as I enjoy writing them. I'll be around for a while yet hopefully.
I'm not so much giving up my collection as finding ways to fund my vinyl collecting. I've recently become really attracted to the good old 7" Single again, particularly the odd and unknown from the mid to late eighties, so I'm willing to exchange a few CD albums I have no attachment to and some of the albums I bought on the cheap over the last six months that aren't really all that rare or special to me. Music will always be a part of my life, no doubt about that.
I've got a few special things planned, as it happens. Around my 40th birthday, I will be doing some special posts, the highlight of which will be a project I like to call "Now That's What I Really Call Music" which will be an imaginary double album with about 40 of my favorite non hits from the mid-80's, with artwork and fake chart action, plus perhaps a certain pig, to warp into an alternative reality of pop music as I would like to have imagined it.
Linked to this will be an exclusive short story I am working on which involves time travel, pop charts and a certain Mr. Joe Dolce. The provisional title is "Ripples".
I am also writing my first full length book, which will have very little to do with music and a lot to do with turning 40...
