From Masouri on the west coast of Kalymnos , the view is beautiful to Telendos , especially when the sun goes down behind the island . Above the town is steep mountainsides , where climbers found their paradise . From Myrties there are only about 10 minutes by boat to Telendos where the atmosphere is quite different than in the more bustling towns Masouri and Myrties . No cars or motorcycles disturb the peace . The beaches are nice and taverns have good food. A short ride on the scooter north west coast of Masouri is idyllic Emborios . Just south of Emborios is Skalia, where the road across the island to the east coast Paleonissos goes. A little further south is Aryinonda with a good beach . From there , the road over the mountains , down the beautiful Vathia valley , through Vathia and to the port of Rina . Rina is beautifully situated at the bottom of a small and narrow fjord . From Rina is not a long way to the south coast and into the capital Pothia . Pothia is a relatively large and bustling city that offers everything you want. On the hill west of Pothia is Aghios Savvas Monastery with its beautiful church and beautiful views of Pothia . Further west from the monastery , through Vothyni to Vlyhadia on the south coast . In Vlyhadia there are two fine beaches and a maritime museum which is well worth a visit. Just south of Masouri is Eagen Tavern , try the roasted lamb there! Fra Masouri på vestkysten av Kalymnos er utsikten vakker mot Telendos, spesielt når solen går ned bak øya. Over byen ligger stupbratte fjellsider, der klatrerne fant sitt eldorado. Fra Myrties er det bare ca 10 minutter med båt over til Telendos der stemningen er helt anneledes enn i de mer travle småbyene Myrties og Masouri. Ingen biler eller motorsykkler forstyrrer roen. Strendene er fine og tavernaene har god mat. En kort tur med scooter nordover vestkysten fra Masouri ligger idylliske Emborios. Like sør for Emborios ligger Skalia, der veien over øya til østkysten Paleonissos går. Litt lenger sør ligger Aryinonda med en bra strand. Herfra går veien over fjellet, ned den vakre Vathia-dalen, gjennom Vathia og til havnen i Rina. Rina ligger vakkert til innerst i en liten og trang fjord. Fra Rina er veien ikke lang til sørkysten og inn til hovedstaden Pothia. Pothia er en relativt stor og travel by som kan by på det meste. På høyden vest for Pothia ligger Aghios Savvas-klosteret med sin vakre kirke og flotte utsikt over hovedstaden. Videre vestover fra klosteret, gjennom Vothyni til Vlyhadia på sørkysten. I Vlyhadia er det to fine strender og et maritimt museum som er vel verdt et besøk. Helt sør i Masouri ligger Eagen Tavern, prøv lammekjøttet der!
