Peter Shukoff

Peter Alexis Shukoff (born August 15, 1979), also known as Nice Peter, is an American comedian, musician and personality. A self-described "Comic/Guitar Hero," he is best known for the comedy on his YouTube channel, NicePeter, especially the comedic series Epic Rap Battles of History. As of September 6, 2013, NicePeter has over 2.4 million YouTube subscribers. The day after hitting one million subscribers, the video game channel G4 crowned Nice Peter the King of Dot Comedy on Attack of the Show. His two channels, Nice Peter and Epic Rap Battles have a total of 12 million subscribers and over a billion views as of September 2013. He also has a third channel that he uses for vlogs and "Monday Shows", a show that he uploads on either Mondays or Tuesdays that he shows a couple different segments including "Viewer Mail", "Twitter Question Time", and "Ask a Giraffe". They have been featured on the Huffington Post,Billboard.com, and the January 2012 issue of Wired. An interview with Forbes details Peter and his partner Lloyd Ahlquist's rise to fame.

David Morrison

Lieutenant General David Lindsay Morrison AO (born 1956) is a retired senior officer of the Australian Army. He served as Chief of Army from June 2011 until his retirement in May 2015. He was named Australian of the Year for 2016.

Early life and education

The son of Major General Alan "Alby" Morrison, Morrison attended St Edmund's College, Canberra and the Australian National University, where he studied arts and law. In 1979, he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree and joined the Australian Army. He then graduated from the Officer Cadet School, Portsea into the Royal Australian Infantry Corps.

Military career

In 1987 and 1988, Morrison served as the Australian Instructor at the Royal Military Academy, Sandhurst, in the United Kingdom.

In 1992, Morrison attended the Army Command and Staff College, Queenscliff, and was then appointed as the Brigade Major of the 3rd Brigade, based in Townsville, Queensland. During that time he took part in Operation Lagoon, acting as Chief of Staff for a multinational force that provided security to the peace conference held in Bougainville during 1994. The following year he was promoted to lieutenant colonel.

Stan Lee

Stan Lee (born Stanley Martin Lieber, December 28, 1922) is an American comic book writer, editor, publisher, media producer, television host, actor and former president and chairman of Marvel Comics. In collaboration with several artists, including Jack Kirby and Steve Ditko, he co-created Spider-Man, the Hulk, the Fantastic Four, Iron Man, Thor, the X-Men, and many other fictional characters, introducing complex, naturalistic characters and a thoroughly shared universe into superhero comic books. In addition, he headed the first major successful challenge to the industry's censorship organization, the Comics Code Authority, and forced it to reform its policies. Lee subsequently led the expansion of Marvel Comics from a small division of a publishing house to a large multimedia corporation.

He was inducted into the comic book industry's Will Eisner Award Hall of Fame in 1994 and the Jack Kirby Hall of Fame in 1995. Lee received a National Medal of Arts in 2008.

Early life

Stanley Martin Lieber was born on December 28, 1922 in New York City, in the apartment of his Romanian-born Jewish immigrant parents, Celia (née Solomon) and Jack Lieber, at the corner of West 98th Street and West End Avenue in Manhattan. His father, trained as a dress cutter, worked only sporadically after the Great Depression, and the family moved further uptown to Fort Washington Avenue, in Washington Heights, Manhattan. When Lee was nearly 9, his only sibling, brother Larry Lieber, was born. He said in 2006 that as a child he was influenced by books and movies, particularly those with Errol Flynn playing heroic roles. By the time Lee was in his teens, the family was living in a one-bedroom apartment at 1720 University Avenue in The Bronx. Lee described it as "a third-floor apartment facing out back", with him and his brother sharing a bedroom and his parents using a foldout couch.

David Morrison: spring microcosm March 6 - April 6, 2013 Opening reception: Thursday March 7, 2013 Garvey|Simon is pleased to present an exhibition of new drawings by David Morrison. This is Morrison's first solo show in New York. David Morrison challenges the idea of what is cherished in nature by celebrating the beauty of the over-looked and the imperfect. Found broken branches, a peeling sycamore tree, bug-eaten leaves and flower buds provide fodder for his newest body of work. The artist is enthralled by the subtle details in nature that are only observed up close. He patiently researches and visually dissects these details, enhancing over-looked textures, veins and colors to create organic visual adventures that celebrate the inherent substance and structure of life. Using colored pencil on paper, Morrison delicately showcases the molecular vastness of these discovered fragments of nature. His meticulous execution invites repeated close inspection and analysis. Each drawing isolates his subject individually against a pristine white paper. This isolation sets the found castaways apart and elevates them from debris to icon status. His drawings reveal the moments of growth and decay with a precision that defies what the naked eye is capable of seeing. Developed within each layer of color and mark made is a private world from the artist's imagination. Envisioning the life of a small insect, Morrison excavates his own terrain along a branch, leaf or flower to reveal a microcosm of texture and color. His work offers an intimate and introspective connection with each of his humble subjects. The densely rendered shadows cast beneath each object create an animated ghost- like life -- emphasizing light and announcing the new life awakening in spring. David Morrison graduated with an MFA from the University of Wisconsin- Madison in 1985, and received his BFA from the University of South Dakota, Vermillion in 1981. He is currently a Professor of Art at the Herron School of Art, Indiana University and Purdue University at Indianapolis. He has shown in over two hundred fifty international and national exhibitions and has received numerous National Awards and Fellowships. His work is included in numerous public and private collections including The Whitney Museum of American Art, New York; The Smithsonian American Art Museum, The National Gallery of Art and The Corcoran Gallery of Art, Washington DC; The Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art, Kansas City, MO and The Portland Art Museum, OR to name a few.
