Alice's Adventures in Wonderland (commonly shortened to Alice in Wonderland) is an 1865 novel written by English author Charles Lutwidge Dodgson under the pseudonym Lewis Carroll. It tells of a girl named Alice who falls down a rabbit hole into a fantasy world (Wonderland) populated by peculiar, anthropomorphic creatures. The tale plays with logic, giving the story lasting popularity with adults as well as children. It is considered to be one of the best examples of the literary nonsense genre,and its narrative course and structure, characters and imagery have been enormously influential in both popular culture and literature, especially in the fantasy genre.
Alice was published in 1865, three years after the Reverend Charles Lutwidge Dodgson and the Reverend Robinson Duckworth rowed in a boat, on 4 July 1862, up the Isis with the three young daughters of Henry Liddell (the Vice-Chancellor of Oxford University and Dean of Christ Church): Lorina Charlotte Liddell (aged 13, born 1849) ("Prima" in the book's prefatory verse); Alice Pleasance Liddell (aged 10, born 1852) ("Secunda" in the prefatory verse); Edith Mary Liddell (aged 8, born 1853) ("Tertia" in the prefatory verse).
The journey began at Folly Bridge near Oxford and ended five miles away in the village of Godstow. During the trip the Reverend Dodgson told the girls a story that featured a bored little girl named Alice who goes looking for an adventure. The girls loved it, and Alice Liddell asked Dodgson to write it down for her. He began writing the manuscript of the story the next day, although that earliest version no longer exists. The girls and Dodgson took another boat trip a month later when he elaborated the plot to the story of Alice, and in November he began working on the manuscript in earnest.
To add the finishing touches he researched natural history for the animals presented in the book, and then had the book examined by other children—particularly the children of George MacDonald. He added his own illustrations but approached John Tenniel to illustrate the book for publication, telling him that the story had been well liked by children.
On 26 November 1864 he gave Alice the handwritten manuscript of Alice's Adventures Under Ground, with illustrations by Dodgson himself, dedicating it as "A Christmas Gift to a Dear Child in Memory of a Summer's Day". Some, including Martin Gardner, speculate there was an earlier version that was destroyed later by Dodgson when he wrote a more elaborate copy by hand.
But before Alice received her copy, Dodgson was already preparing it for publication and expanding the 15,500-word original to 27,500 words,most notably adding the episodes about the Cheshire Cat and the Mad Tea-Party. (Summary adapted from Wikipedia. org)

Alice Phoebe Lou is a force to be reckoned with. Growing up in Kommitje, South Africa, Alice knew that as soon as she finished school she would pack up her things and see the world. And that's what she did: She packed a bag at the age of 19, went off to Europe in search of adventure, and found her path playing music in the streets of Amsterdam and Berlin. After settling in the German capital in 2013, she began performing in U-Bahn stations and street corners, and started drawing increasing numbers of listeners every time she played. After less than a year in the city, she has become a fixture of Berlin's vibrant street sounds, whether on the famous bridge to Friedrichshain or at the Mauerpark on Sundays. Sounds of the Universe
Sounds of the Universe is the twelfth studio album by English electronic music band Depeche Mode, released on 17 April 2009 by Mute Records. It was supported by the 2009–10 concert tour Tour of the Universe. Three singles were released from the album; "Wrong", "Peace", and a double A-side of "Fragile Tension" and "Hole to Feed". "Perfect" was also released in the US as a promotional single.
As with the previous album, Playing the Angel, Dave Gahan has once again written three songs with Christian Eigner and Andrew Phillpott: "Hole to Feed", "Come Back" and "Miles Away/The Truth Is". "Spacewalker" and the bonus track "Esque" are instrumentals. Martin Gore shares lead singing duties with Gahan on "In Chains", "Peace" and "Little Soul", he sings the lead of "Jezebel" and the B-side "The Sun and the Moon and the Stars" on the second disc of the deluxe box set. The B-side "Oh Well" is the first track ever to be co-written by Gore and Gahan. The final track "Corrupt" is followed by a short hidden instrumental version of the song "Wrong".

Alice was published in 1865, three years after the Reverend Charles Lutwidge Dodgson and the Reverend Robinson Duckworth rowed in a boat, on 4 July 1862, up the Isis with the three young daughters of Henry Liddell (the Vice-Chancellor of Oxford University and Dean of Christ Church): Lorina Charlotte Liddell (aged 13, born 1849) ("Prima" in the book's prefatory verse); Alice Pleasance Liddell (aged 10, born 1852) ("Secunda" in the prefatory verse); Edith Mary Liddell (aged 8, born 1853) ("Tertia" in the prefatory verse).
The journey began at Folly Bridge near Oxford and ended five miles away in the village of Godstow. During the trip the Reverend Dodgson told the girls a story that featured a bored little girl named Alice who goes looking for an adventure. The girls loved it, and Alice Liddell asked Dodgson to write it down for her. He began writing the manuscript of the story the next day, although that earliest version no longer exists. The girls and Dodgson took another boat trip a month later when he elaborated the plot to the story of Alice, and in November he began working on the manuscript in earnest.
To add the finishing touches he researched natural history for the animals presented in the book, and then had the book examined by other children—particularly the children of George MacDonald. He added his own illustrations but approached John Tenniel to illustrate the book for publication, telling him that the story had been well liked by children.
On 26 November 1864 he gave Alice the handwritten manuscript of Alice's Adventures Under Ground, with illustrations by Dodgson himself, dedicating it as "A Christmas Gift to a Dear Child in Memory of a Summer's Day". Some, including Martin Gardner, speculate there was an earlier version that was destroyed later by Dodgson when he wrote a more elaborate copy by hand.
But before Alice received her copy, Dodgson was already preparing it for publication and expanding the 15,500-word original to 27,500 words,most notably adding the episodes about the Cheshire Cat and the Mad Tea-Party. (Summary adapted from Wikipedia. org)

Alice Phoebe Lou is a force to be reckoned with. Growing up in Kommitje, South Africa, Alice knew that as soon as she finished school she would pack up her things and see the world. And that's what she did: She packed a bag at the age of 19, went off to Europe in search of adventure, and found her path playing music in the streets of Amsterdam and Berlin. After settling in the German capital in 2013, she began performing in U-Bahn stations and street corners, and started drawing increasing numbers of listeners every time she played. After less than a year in the city, she has become a fixture of Berlin's vibrant street sounds, whether on the famous bridge to Friedrichshain or at the Mauerpark on Sundays. The few shows Alice has played in a clubs have sold out, the latest being at Berlin's Lido for the release of her first EP, Momentum.

Ahhh!! I'm so excited to show you the newest member in the DarlingDollies family, Alice Rosalie! (Not named after Alice or Rosalie from the twilight series, ironically). The goal is for two people in different places to end up with identical keys by measuring these photons. This animation by the Centre for Quantum Technologies at the National University of Singapore illustrates the process of quantum key distribution using entangled photons. The goal is for two people in different places to end up with identical keys by measuring these photons. We want these people - usually given the names Alice and Bob - to have a random sequence of 1s and 0s that they can use to scramble (and then unscramble) a message. The presence of entanglement between the photons means that any snooping will be revealed. Note: this animation has no sound.
