CALL FOR PAPERS 2017 - EXTENDED DEADLINE

The CPDP 2017 Call for Papers is addressed to all researchers who wish to present their papers at the next Computers, Privacy and Data Protection conference.

The call is split into two different tracks. The first is dedicated to experienced researchers, while the second welcomes PhD students and junior researchers. Contributions are welcome from all disciplines with perspectives on the themes of the conference. The dual-track structure of the CPDP 2017 Call for Papers aims to meet the increasing interest of researchers – from all levels and from multiple disciplines – in CPDP and their expectations in terms of academic feedback and exchange.

However, due to numerous requests, we have decided to extend the panel submission deadline to 30 June 2016. Please note that this is the final deadline and no further extension will be considered.

Accreditation for lawyers

The Orde van Vlaamse Balies has allocated 18 juridical points to CPDP. 6 juridical points per day. Lawyers who attend the three days of the conference will receive 18 juridical points.

THANK YOU

The 9th edition of the international conference Computers, Privacy and Data Protection 2016, which took place last week was a great success!

It was a memorable edition and we would like to thank everyone who came and contributed to this edition.

CPDP2016 received 929 registrations!

The 3 day conference offered participants 80 panels and, workshops and special sessions with 343 speakers from academia, public and private sectors and civil society, from 44 different countries.

Our conference website (www.cpdpconferences.org) was visited 13.646 times (up from 11.125), by 7.430 unique visitors who read a stunning 47.707 pages (up from 33.427). Our busiest day was Wednesday 27 January, when we had 1.563 visitors exactly (a new all-time record +36%). Moreover we dominated (briefly) on Twitter: we reached #2 trending spot in Belgium and #31 trending spot in the US on Wednesday. Thank you for all that attention!

ABOUT CPDP

CPDP is a non-profit platform originally founded in 2007 by research groups from the Vrije Universiteit Brussel, the Université de Namur and Tilburg University. The platform was joined in the following years by the Institut National de Recherche en Informatique et en Automatique and the Fraunhofer Institut für System und Innovationsforschung and has now grown into a platform carried by 20 academic centers of excellence from the EU, the US and beyond. As a world-leading multidisciplinary conference CPDP offers the cutting edge in legal, regulatory, academic and technological development in privacy and data protection. Within an atmosphere of independence and mutual respect, CPDP gathers academics, lawyers, practitioners, policy-makers, industry and civil society from all over the world in Brussels, offering them an arena to exchange ideas and discuss the latest emerging issues and trends. FINANCIAL ACCOUNTABILITY

CPDP is a non-profit platform which uses all incoming money to make the conference work and to guarantee quality, diversity and interdisciplinarity. In order to achieve these aims, participation fees for the conference are kept deliberately low.

Our aim is to make this conference break even, or at least to limit losses as much as possible. However, we often end with a small loss. The cost of personnel organizing and programming the conference is carried by the participating universities and a considerable amount of money is invested in aspects of the conference such as art shows, phd students, public debates, book lauches etc.
