By the band BodyCount, Ice-T's rock band for a while in the early 1990s - Sukant Chandan, Sons of Malcolm

"This record is dedicated to some personal friends of mine, the LAPD. For every cop that has ever taken advantage of somebody, beat him down of hurt em', - because they got long hair, listen to the wrong kinda music, wrong coulor, whatever they though was the reason to do it, for everyone of those f###in' Po-lice, I'd like to take a pig right here in this parkin lot, and shoot em in their muthaf###in' face".

- Ice-T's introduction to the song.

LYRICS:

COP KILLER! YEAH!

I got my black shirt on.
I got my black gloves on.
I got my ski mask on.
This shit's been too long.
I got my twelve gauge sawed off.
I got my headlights turned off.
I'm 'bout to bust some shots off.
I'm 'bout to dust some cops off.

I'm a COP KILLER, better you than me.
COP KILLER, fuck police brutality!
COP KILLER, I know your family's grieving,
(FUCK 'EM!)
COP KILLER, but tonight we get even, ha ha.

I got my brain on hype.
Tonight'll be your night.
I got this long-assed knife.
and your neck looks just right.
My adrenaline's pumpin'.
I got my stereo bumpin'.
I'm 'bout to kill me somethin'.
A pig stopped me for nuthin'!

COP KILLER, better you than me.
COP KILLER, fuck police brutality!
COP KILLER, I know your momma's grieving,
(FUCK HER!)
COP KILLER, but tonight we get even, yeah!

DIE, DIE, DIE PIG, DIE!

FUCK THE POLICE!
FUCK THE POLICE!
FUCK THE POLICE!
FUCK THE POLICE!

FUCK THE POLICE!
FUCK THE POLICE!
FUCK THE POLICE!
FUCK THE POLICE!
Yeah!

COP KILLER, better you than me.
I'm a COP KILLER, fuck police brutality!
COP KILLER, I know your family's grieving,
(FUCK 'EM!)
COP KILLER, but tonight we get even, ha ha ha ha, yeah!

FUCK THE POLICE!
FUCK THE POLICE!
FUCK THE POLICE!
FUCK THE POLICE!

FUCK THE POLICE!
FUCK THE POLICE!
FUCK THE POLICE!
FUCK THE POLICE!
Break it down.

FUCK THE POLICE, yeah!
FUCK THE POLICE, for Darryl Gates.
FUCK THE POLICE, for Rodney King.
FUCK THE POLICE, for my dead homies.
FUCK THE POLICE, for your freedom.
FUCK THE POLICE, don't be a pussy.

GADAFI GAVE MASSIVE ARMS TO THE IRISH FREEDOM STRUGGLE

Btw, seems this is a fake picture of a mural that doesnt exist. Great picture though, maybe the brothers and sisters in Ireland should put up a mural like this, considering Gadafi gave them enough weapons to fight many more decades. - Sukant Chandan, Sons of Malcolm

ROBERT MUGABE INTERVIEWED ON CNN, THE BEST ANTI-IMPERIALIST SOCIALIST LEADER AFRICA HAS CURRENTLY

SOME TWEETS FROM BRO AKALA ON NEW BOB MARLEY DOC-FILM

Keep in mind that the director of the film is none other than white supremacist foolish director of 'last king of scotland', which has to be one of the most anti-African racist films I seen of late. - Sukant Chandan, Sons of Malcolm

Tweets from Akala on the Bob Marley film:

"Saw the Bob Marley doc the other day. Did not like it"

"The fact that the most important living Marley is not in the doc tells you alot about it's credibility" [Damian Marley]

"In my opinion it was very shallow and did not really examine Bobs revolutionary significance. Instead it tries to make him 'digestible'"

"It feels more like an advert than a serious doc about a revolutionary figure."

"it's presents the facts of what Bob Did, like performing at Zimbabwean independence (out of his own pocket) BUT ..... Completely ignores the significance of that as if he almost just did it by accident."

"It also is completely impotent on the actual politics of Jamaica in that period in relation to world affairs."

"It also tries to give the impression that prejudice against 'light skinned' ppl in Jamaica is actually a serious problem which is laughable"

"The reverse is the reality and 'light skinned' Jamaicans occupy, generally, a privileged and arrogant social class."

"The same Jamaica that talks about 'good hair' and 'high colour' apparently hates light skinned ppl?? Do me a favour will ya"

"every Jamaican on here probably heard the saying 'anyting too black cyant good' such is the reality of the self hate"

BROTHER RUSSELL BRAND ON DRUG ADDICTION AT PARLIAMENTARY COMMITTEE

Bro Russell Brand is a progressive and radical Brother. Anyone who has followed him over the years will know this. However, its a shame he is in the totally soul-destroying world of the vacuous and shallow entertainment industry. I wish him well and all the best in rising above.

BRO HAMZA ('DIARY OF A BAD MAN') ON BORIS & KEN FOR LONDON MAYOR

MALCOLM X's GRANDSON INTERVIEWED

I am not necessarily endorsing everything what Brother Al Haj Shabaaz is saying below, but he does raise a lot of interesting issues. On the issue of religion, I am not anti-religious, I am just in support of all forces, religious and secular uniting in the international war of liberation against imperialism and white supremacy. At the same time, I am not glossing over the way that imperialism is in alliance with anti-Shia chauvinist forces currently. But the Brother here speaks about many interesting things beyond issues of religion. As he says, he fundamentally believes in "education and unity". And this is the most important area of common struggle between us. Respect to the Brother. Keep on.

NEW TRACK & VIDEO FROM BRO JASIRI X - 'THE FUNK'

MALCOLM X's GRANDSON INTERVIEWED ON PRESS TV (THE BROTHER VISITED LIBYA LAST YEAR IN SOLIDARITY AGAINST nATO BOMBING)

[source]

Malcolm X’s grandson, El-Hajj Malik El-Shabazz, says that Blacks are murdered with impunity in the United States because the system is unjust, Press TV reports.

In an exclusive interview with Press TV on Monday, Shabazz commented on the murder of Black teenager Trayvon Martin, saying, “There are hundreds of Black Americans who are being murdered in the United States every year with impunity. And police officers serve no time. They always get off.”

Shabazz said this occurs because there is institutionalized racism in the United States.

“The United States has more people incarcerated than anywhere else in the world. It has more people incarcerated than China, and China has the most people in the world,” he noted.

Shabazz stated that although a minority of the people of the United States are black, in prisons the majority of the people are black and Hispanic. “And in these institutions people are forced to work for pennies on a dollar.”

And according to the US Constitution, slavery has been abolished, except for people who are serving time in penal institutions, Shabazz noted.

Elsewhere in his remarks, he said as long as there are upper, middle, and lower classes in the United States, slavery will exist.

Shabazz also asserted the US president is a puppet, and a small group of people control everything in the United States.

He went on to say, "My grandfather once equated revolution to a forest fire. And he stated that the goal of the revolution was that like a forest fire… that ravishes the forest completely. He said that is the goal of the revolution.”

“We should take down the system completely, and set up a new system of our own, which is more just,” he added.

If the system is not taken down completely, people of color will always remain on the bottom socioeconomic strata of the United States, he observed.

Commenting on the 9/11 terrorist attacks, Shabazz said Muslims were not the culprits.

“Muslims didn't do 9/11. They had nothing to do with 9/11,” he stated.

He added, “If you make research you'll see everything that was utilized in 9/11 pointed back to the United States --- the flight training, the visas, the planes they used, everything came from the United States.

“Muslims cannot take such action against civilians. And anybody who would take such actions against civilians is not a Muslim.

“And the people who were involved in 9/11 were agents of the United States, the CIA or whatever other three letter organizations they have in this country.”

In an apparent reference to the concept of leaderless resistance, he said, “If I can't identify an essential leadership or a governing body, I have a problem with that.”

He also expressed doubt about the authenticity of the Occupy movement in the United States and uprisings in Egypt, Tunisia, and Libya.

“My grandfather once stated that you should never join a movement unless you are completely aware what that movement is about because a lot of the time we have outside forces that orchestrate those movements and get us to do things which we would not ordinarily do,” he stated.

aUSTRALIAN DOC-FILM ON PERSECUTION OF BLACK LIBYANS

BEAUTIFUL INDIAN FILM SONG: 'Dil Cheez Kya Hai'

KIM JONG UN's FULL SPEECH

[source]

Officers and men of the three services and strategic rocket force of the heroic Korean People’s Army and officers and men of the Korean People’s Internal Security Forces,
Members of the Worker-Peasant Red Guards and Young Red Guards,
Working people across the country and Pyongyang citizens,
Compatriots in south Korea and abroad,

Comrades and friends,

Today, with a great national pride and dignity, we are holding a military parade in celebration of the centenary of the birth of the great leader Comrade Kim Il Sung.

This military parade, unprecedented of its kind in the history of the KPA, is a grand festival of victors, arranged by the noble intention and personal proposal of the great Comrade Kim Jong Il to glorify the immortal exploits achieved by the great Comrade Kim Il Sung in army building and demonstrate to the whole world the might of the powerful socialist Korea.

Availing myself of this significant opportunity, I would like to extend, in reflection of the boundless feeling cherished by all the  service  personnel  and  people,  the  highest  respect  and  greatest  glory  to  Comrades Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il, banners of all victories, who founded and built up our revolutionary armed forces.

My respect also goes to the fighters of the anti-Japanese revolution and soldiers of the KPA, who dedicated their precious lives to the independence and sovereignty of their country and the freedom of their fellow people.

I warmly congratulate the officers and men of the KPA and the KPISF, members of the Worker-Peasant Red Guards and Young Red Guards and all other people, who have greeted the meaningful anniversary days of this year with proud successes in strengthening combat capabilities and bringing about a great revolutionary upsurge by displaying an unexcelled heroic spirit and devotion at the national defence posts and construction sites of a thriving country.

I extend warm greetings to the compatriots in south Korea and abroad, who are devoting their all to the patriotic cause for achieving reunification and prosperity of their motherland, and express gratitude to the foreign friends who are rendering active support and encouragement to the just cause of our people.

Comrades,

The 100-year history of the great Kim Il Sung’s nation is a history that clearly proves the iron truth that outstanding leaders assure the self-respect and prosperity of a country and nation.

The Korean nation, though it had been proud of its 5 000-year-long history and brilliant culture, had to regard sycophancy to big countries and national ruin as its fate because it had not received correct leadership and had had no strength with which to defend itself. It was the image of our nation a century ago, the image of the miserable colonial country.

However, the 100-year history of Kim Il Sung’s nation put a final end to the history full of vicissitudes, and has raised the dignity of our country and nation to the highest level in their history.
The geopolitical position of the country is the same as ever, but the weak country of yesterday which was trodden underfoot as a theatre of wrangling among big powers to expand the sphere of their influence, has now been turned into a proud political and military power and our people are demonstrating their dignity as an independent people whom no one dares to provoke.

These miraculous changes that have taken place in the destiny of our nation are not just a fortuitous event which resulted from the lapse of time but an inevitable outcome of history brought about by the great President Kim Il Sung and General Kim Jong Il, who pioneered and led the Songun revolution.

As they were led by the peerlessly great leaders, who built up the elite revolutionary armed forces, regarding giving priority to arms as the fundamentals of the revolution, our country and people could bring about radical changes in their destiny and see today’s grand festival, which will demonstrate to the whole world the strength of Songun Korea.

President Kim Il Sung, having clarified in his early years the iron truth that arms are precisely the lifeline of a nation and the victory of the revolution, founded in the forests of Paektu 80 years ago the Korean People’s Revolutionary Army made up of fine sons and daughters of the people, the first Juche-type revolutionary armed force of Korea.

With the founding of the KPRA, our people could have their own genuine army for the first time in their history, and this marked the beginning of the glorious history of the Korean revolution which would advance on the strength of arms.

Comrade Kim Il Sung, who put primary efforts into strengthening the revolutionary armed forces throughout his revolutionary career, worked military miracles of the 20th century by defeating two imperialist powers, the most ferocious forces in the world, in his generation, developed the KPA into a-match-for-a-hundred powerful revolutionary army and accomplished arming all the people and making the whole country fortified, thus providing a solid military guarantee for ensuring the sovereignty of the country and everlasting prosperity of the nation.

General Kim Jong Il, regarding carrying forward and accomplishing the Juche-oriented revolutionary cause of Songun as his lifelong mission, ushered in the golden age of the development of our revolutionary armed forces by dint of his uncommon wisdom, outstanding military commandership and matchless courage.

In the grimmest period ever witnessed in our revolution, he developed the KPA into the ranks of an elite force, ensured successive victories in the unprecedented struggle to defend socialism and performed the huge historic exploit of raising the status of our country to that of a world-class military power by administering the ever-victorious Songun politics.

Under the leadership of President Kim Il Sung and General Kim Jong Il, our armed forces gave full play to their dignity as an army distinctive in their revolutionary character and unparalleled in their militant temperament and might.

The course of proud struggle traversed by our revolutionary armed forces has witnessed do-or-die showdowns with imperialist powers and grand construction campaigns for laying eternal foundations for the country’s prosperity.

In the course of this, our revolutionary armed forces have remained boundlessly faithful to their first and foremost mission as a genuine army of the leader and the Party, and lived up to the expectations of the country and people with credit.

The noble spirit of defending the leader unto death, created by the anti-Japanese guerrillas, has been the absolute motto of our army and the source of its mental strength and combat efficiency, as well as a precious tradition for the later generations.

The KPA has been the first to hold up the banner of death-defying defence of the leaders and has taken the lead in staunchly safeguarding the lifeline of the Juche revolution in days of both glory and trials; this constitutes the greatest of exploits it has performed for the revolution.

The history of our army, which made its start with two pistols and has developed into a matchless force that terrifies the imperialist aggressors, is unprecedented in the world history of army building.
In the long period from its founding to the present, it fought a guerrilla war, a regular war and a showdown without gunshot; in the course of this, it has acquired all-powerful, Juche-oriented combat methods and accumulated experiences in achieving only victory, and developed into powerful armed forces possessed of the means of both attack and defence of our own style that are fully capable of coping with modern warfare of any type.

The military and technological edge is no longer the monopoly of imperialists, and the era is gone forever when the enemy would threaten us with atomic bombs. Today’s grand military demonstration will be clear proof of this.

Since the very day when it was named after people, the KPA, as the defender of the country and artist of people’s happiness, has left remarkable traces in the building of a prosperous and powerful country.

The monumental edifices that have sprung up in all parts of the country and the numerous socialist assets that render a contribution to people’s living are all permeated with the precious blood and sweat of our service personnel.

The powerful revolutionary army of Mt. Paektu with great pride in being the army of the leader, the Party and the people and with invincible might is the most important heritage that the great generalissimos left for their beloved country, and to have such valuable inheritance is a great blessing and a source of pride for our Party and people.

The heroic KPA which recorded only victories has assured the glorious 100-year history of Juche Korea, and this constitutes a sure guarantee for the everlasting history of Kim Il Sung’s nation, Kim Jong Il’s Korea.

Shining for all eternity in the history of our motherland will be the sacred revolutionary careers and immortal exploits of President Kim Il Sung and General Kim Jong Il who opened the new history of national independence by blazing the trail fraught with hardships for the Songun revolution and laid a solid basis for the prosperity of the country and for the happiness of all the generations to come.

Comrades,
Today we stand at the watershed in history marking the start of a new century of the Juche era.
Now  is  a  responsible  and   important  period  requiring  us  who  learned  the  revolution  from  General Kim Jong Il to be more energetic than any other time.

The 4th Conference of the Workers’ Party of Korea and the 5th Session of the 12th Supreme People’s Assembly, historic meetings held a few days ago, acclaimed General Kim Jong Il as the eternal leader of our revolution, as the eternal General Secretary of the Workers’ Party of Korea and the eternal Chairman of the National Defence Commission of our Republic.

This is an expression of the unshakeable will of our Party, army and people to inherit and accomplish the revolutionary cause of Juche pioneered on Mt. Paektu without any deviation and without any concession as the President and the General did, holding aloft the great banner of Kimilsungism-Kimjongilism.

The permanent strategy of our revolution and its final victory lie in going straight along the road of independence, the road of Songun, the road of socialism, indicated by President Kim Il Sung and General Kim Jong Il.

If we are to add eternal glory to the dignity of Songun Korea and bring to successful completion the cause of building a thriving socialist country, we should, above all else, strengthen the KPA in every way.

The KPA should remain reliable vanguard and solid cornerstone of the Songun revolution, which is ready to blaze the trail under the leadership of the Party and firmly guarantee its cause by force of arms.

What cannot be changed even though the times may elapse and one generation may be replaced by another is the original revolutionary form of our army which bears resemblance to President Kim Il Sung and General Kim Jong Il and the fighting mode of the revolutionary army of Mt. Paektu which advances holding high the red flag of the Workers’ Party as its first banner.

The KPA should intensify the movement for winning the title of O Jung Hup-led 7th Regiment as required by the developing situation, so as to turn itself into today’s 7th Regiment which is fully equipped with the spirit of becoming human rifles and bombs, a spirit cherished by the anti-Japanese guerrillas.

It should thoroughly apply our Party’s Juche-oriented military ideas and lines to its military and political work and establish more firmly the revolutionary command system, so as to become an integral whole, which is ideologically pure and highly organized and which shares the Party’s ideology, breathes the same breath with it and keeps pace with it.

It should conduct training more intensively as the anti-Japanese guerrillas did on Mt. Paektu, so as to prepare  all  its  officers  and  men  to  be  fully-ready  combatants,  who  have  acquired  the  ever-victorious

Kim Il Sung’s and Kim Jong Il’s strategies and tactics, mode of bold attack and all-round practical abilities, and perfect its regular aspects as befits an elite revolutionary force which is strong in discipline and excellent within and without.

The entire army having become an entity of comrades-in-arms and all the service personnel and people having formed a harmonious whole around the Party–this is the real might of the KPA, and herein lies the main key to strengthening its military strength.

Upholding the slogan “Let all the service personnel become true comrades-in-arms!” the KPA should give fuller scope to the traditional trait of unity between officers and men, and the entire army should become a unit of comrades-in-arms, who share blood and life on the road of the Songun revolution.

Officers and men are all valuable comrades-in-arms of the Supreme Commander. What I believe is not any of the modern military hardware, like guns or rockets, but the dear rank-and-file soldiers; the Supreme Commander as well as officers exists for them.

All the officers should take warm care of their men with the feeling of their eldest brothers and sisters and as their true comrades-in-arms, and make it their habit to make devoted efforts until their shoes are worn out.

Army-people unity is the roots of our society and the great foundation of the Songun revolution.
By inheriting the traditions of the anti-Japanese guerrilla army, the KPA should always take the lead and be a forerunner in consolidating the great army-people unity.

It should continue to hold high the slogan “Help the people!” set forth by General Kim Jong Il.
Officers and men of the KPA should fulfil the duty of the army of the people by doing many more things for the benefit of the people with a feeling of doing them for their own parents and brothers and of taking care of their own homes.

It is a firm determination of our Party to ensure that our people, who are the best in the world and who have remained faithful to the Party in the face of all manner of difficulties, do not have to tighten their belts again, but enjoy all the benefits of socialism.

We should cultivate with care the valuable seeds, which the great General sowed for the building of an economic power and the improvement of the people’s standard of living, and bring them to brilliant fruition.

Single-hearted unity and invincible military might plus the industrial revolution in the new century is just the thriving socialist country.

By making the flames of the industrial revolution in the new century and the flames of Hamnam flare up more fiercely, we should take the road of building an economic power in a comprehensive way.

Officers and men of the KPA should continuously display the might of the powerful revolutionary army, which does not know the word impossible, and make breakthroughs in the great upsurge on all the major fronts for the building of an economic power and improving of the people’s standard of living.

All the officials, Party members and other working people should raise the wind of achieving great innovations and upsurge for leaping forward from one decade to another on all the fronts of socialist construction, taking their cue from the mettle of fighting and way of creating of the KPA that never fails to see what it does through to the finish at a go once it is determined.

Peace is very valuable for our Party and the government of the DPRK that are making efforts to attain the general goal of building a thriving nation and improving the people’s living standards. But, more valuable for us are the nation’s dignity and the country’s independence.

In order to reliably safeguard the dignity and independence of our Republic and assure genuine peace and the country’s security, all the officers and men of the KPA should firmly defend our Party’s cause of building a thriving nation by force of arms, always preserving its revolutionary nature and maintaining full combat readiness.

It is, indeed, heartrending that our compatriots who lived as a homogeneous nation in the same territory for long have suffered the pain of division for nearly 70 years.

Our Party and the government of the DPRK will join hands with anyone who sincerely wishes the reunification of the country and peace and prosperity of the nation, and make responsible and persevering efforts to realize the historic cause of the country’s reunification.
Comrades,

Our cause is just, and the strength of Korea fostered by truth is inexhaustible.
As President Kim Il Sung and General Kim Jong Il, who live in the hearts of all the service personnel of the KPA and the people across the country, wish our bright future, and as we have the matchless revolutionary army of Mt. Paektu, the invincible great army-people unity and the faithful people who support the cause of the Party with conscience and the sense of obligation, we are sure to emerge victorious.

I will always be a comrade-in-arms of my comrades, sharing the same destiny with them on the sacred road of the Songun revolution and, true to the behests of General Kim Jong Il, fulfil the responsibility I have assumed for the country and the revolution.
Let us all fight vigorously united firmly in one mind and  one  will  as  befit  the  descendants  of  President

Kim Il Sung and the soldiers and devoted followers of General Kim Jong Il.
The flags bearing the beaming images of President Kim Il Sung and General Kim Jong Il will flutter forever in the van of our revolutionary ranks that achieve only victory and glory, always inspiring us to fresh victories.

Forward towards the final victory!

CYPRESS HILL - BLEW UP LATINO HIP-HOP

Cypress Hill and Rage Against the Machine

I have not studied the history of Latino Hip-Hop, but have read stuff here and there over the years charting the rise of this genre. But the following words of Rage Against the Machine front man Brother Zack DeLa Rocha are pertinent:

"I would like to bring some people out right now. Some people who have been very very close to us since day one. When we started of as a band these motherf***s we about to bring out were setting out on a whole other path in Hip-Hop; bringing the experience of Latinos into the ride right here in LA. They had out backs since day one."

This quote is taken from the intro to this amazing live collabo between Rage and Cypress Hill.

On a side note, I have to give massive respect to the Brothers in Rage, these guys blew up right at the start of the 1990s, they raised the flag of militant anti-imperialist internationalism exactly at a time that our world struggle suffered a massive historical defeat as a result of the collapse of the Eastern Bloc and the associated supreme reign of empire through the 1990s encapsulated in the 'New World Order', and the Iraqi people were the people who were the example to the rest of us that if we resist this terrible brutality is what we face.

Rage came on the scene before the first real rise of militancy in the post Eastern Bloc era: the anti-capitalist movement, which really took off after the 'Battle of Seattle' in 1999. Rage were well ahead of their time, and in all honesty no movement in the west has really lived up to the challenge that Rage threw down at the start of the 1990s except the established liberation movements of the resistant-oppressed communities in the usa, the Irish Republican Movement and the Basque Nationalist movement amongst some other very few.

This aside from the development of the aesthetic sound that Rage brought about, the most potent fusion of Rock, Punk and Rap, with Brother Tom Morello's guitar playing blazing a new trail in musical-fusion. For those of us who were in our early teens at the time and already wanting to rage against imperialism, Rage were a true gift to our minds and revolutionary motivation.

Anyway, this was supposed to be about Cypress! Cypress, Rage (Brother Zack is from a mixed heritage background which includes Mexico), Big Pun (RIP), Fat Joe are some of the names in that showed that Latino Hip-Hop had arrived on the scene after the many years of struggle of artists from that community for recognition.

I leave you with some of my favourite Cypress tracks, starting one for our little pig-po-po friends.

'BLAK LUV' - BROTHER JERU

# This is for the youth blak luv
This is for the ghetto, blak luv, blak luv #

'ALL WHITE PEOPLE ARE RACIST' (& IT WASNT SUKANT WHO SAID IT!)

Really interesting article from a decade ago, published in the liberal wing of the white power structure media, the Guardian.

Agree with this article, of course in one article the writer cannot address the manifold nature of white supremacy. Two important additional comments I would make is that the struggle for compensation and reparations of all the peoples of the Global South whose homelands have been plundered by colonialism is a priority issue for us. And secondly, the struggle is a international struggle not only to struggle but to struggle to win, which means ensuring that empire and white supremacy are defeated and wiped out as soon as possible.

Sukant Chandan, Sons of Malcolm

Of course all white people are racist
Only by acknowledging the influence of subliminal stereotypes can we eradicate their pernicious effects

[source]

When the head of the crown prosecution service said he believed almost all British people were racist, he was roundly condemned. It was a moment of political correctness gone mad, commentators said. But one thing no one seems to have paused to consider was the possibility that he was right. In fact, what about: all white people are racist.

I don't mean they are all wilful bigots, of course. But racism is a combination of prejudice and power. And sadly prejudice is a deeply ingrained human trait.

Globally, white people are the dominant group, and in politics, economics, the media and all aspects of society, this power is used every day. It starts from the top and filters down to white people everywhere, regardless of their individual economic situation.

At the highest level, when President Bush tells Palestinians a different leader must take the place of the man they elected, he's treating them as second-class human beings. When the leaders of western economic powers deny fair trading terms to African countries, they are doing exactly the same. And the images of these pathetic victims help fuel more stereotypes about their "inferior" status.

Every day the white power structure - be it global, national or local - makes decisions which impinge on the lives of black people. Take the Metropolitan police, who last year decided to allow people to go unpunished if caught smoking dope in Brixton, south London. This scheme was brought in without the backing of the local black population, who fear the effect on their children of scenes of overt drug taking. If the police want to experiment with drugs, why choose black people as guinea pigs?

The actions of those in power create a constant drip of negative images which seep into the national consciousness. Why is it that every time a TV news report mentions unemployment, or school exclusions, or crime statistics you are virtually guaranteed to see a black face? Black and Asian people are seen far less often on reports on the health service, for example, where they make up a high proportion of nurses and doctors. Do you question it each time? Has this negative imagery become normalised in your own mind?

Only last week, a train crash in Tanzania which killed 200 people received the tiniest of mentions in the media. The Times ran a paragraph in its "In Brief" column. What impression does this give about the value of black life?

But the media is not entirely to blame. It is a chicken-and-egg situation in which editors know that their readers care less for non-white lives - they see the evidence in their sales - and hence devote less time and effort to covering them. Which makes the hypocrisy of their response to the crown prosecutor all the more stark.

And despite changes since the Stephen Lawrence inquiry - with black faces now regularly seen on TV in adverts and as presenters - the negative imagery still persists. Take the World Cup, where Egyptian and Ecuadorian referees were treated as second-rate, yet the Scottish official who missed a blatant goal-line handball was still somehow up to the job.

Some "non-racists" like to pretend that racial differences don't exist - they even proudly claim not to notice skin colour. This is manifest nonsense. Purporting to be "colour blind" is as ludicrous as suggesting you wouldn't notice a person's gender. What's important is what you do, not what you see.

It is naive to believe that the long history of racial distortion - which goes back to the days of slavery and colonialism - has not had a lasting effect on the individual subconscious. We receive these messages virtually from birth, and as children's thought processes develop, they build up into a bank of subliminal stereotypes. A black man and white man walking down the street: Which one is the doctor? Which one is good at sport? Which one does drugs?

Reaching adulthood, how can people realistically cast off all they've come to believe as a child? Even black people themselves are not immune, and these images have had an impact on their own self-esteem.

White people need to accept that, no matter how many anti-racist demos they've marched on, they inevitably make assumptions, however subconscious, which are influenced by a racist society and which help to form their views and opinions. To refute this is to be in complete denial. But this is not a blame game. Institutional racism is now an accepted term, but it's not the inanimate "institutions" which are racist; it's their staff who perpetuate the overall inequalities by their actions. The acknowledgement of personal racism is simply a prerequisite before anyone can begin to eradicate its pernicious effects.

As a black man, I admit I am bound to suffer from prejudices of my own. I cannot be racist, however, because in the global order I do not belong to the dominant group. If I were to mistreat a white person, no matter how low in social status, the weight of this country's white power structure would come down against me. As Stephen Lawrence's parents found, this force does not come to the aid of black people.

And how could I be racist anyway? I assure you, some of my best friends are white.

AMAL SAAD GHORAYEB SLAPS DOWN THE "SILLY WHITE MAN"

Neo-Orientalist Misogyny against Sharmine Narwani
By Amal Saad Ghorayeb
[source]

Sharmine Narwani has written a scathing attack on Western journalists’ coverage of Syria in this excellent article here: “Western Journalist: Visa Denied”.

As expected, her piece was met with the usual barrage of you -are -a-baby-killer type insults on Twitter and on Joshua Landis’ blog, Syria Comment. But none were as offensive as one Tweep’s reference to her as a “regime lap dancer”. This isn’t the first time white western males, whose interests are allied with Empire, refer to us “Middle Eastern” female political analysts in such sexually derogatory terms, as I personally know only too well. What is particularly disturbing about this case though, is how Arab female, anti-Assad “revolutionaries” rushed to his defense and attacked Narwani’s condemnation of his vile misogyny.

As a woman and an anti-imperialist, I really have to restrain myself from resorting to the same type of ad hominem attacks against him and his kind that he so gratuitously avails himself of on Syria Comment and on Twitter. His misogynistic, sexually abusive slur against Sharmine Narwani as a a “regime lap dancer” is all too reminiscent of Orientalist tropes which revolve around the sexualized belly-dancing Muslim harem. Such is his intellectual and political bankruptcy that he could not even abide by the minimal requirements of liberal, politically correct discourse which, while insidious in its own way, at least tames its more sexually and racially offensive elements into professing multicultural tolerance and sexual equality.

Nothing scares such types more than the image of the decolonized native who rejects their preferred al-Jadaliyya (read, House Arab) line of thinking, than the decolonized female native who takes the lead in liberating the minds of her fellow natives. What a silly little white man.

And as for you Arab women out there who are siding with your white, Western, male oppressor: the efforts of the likes of Narwani to liberate you from his grip, are wasted on you. You deserve your own self-imposed enslavement.

EGYPTIAN MILITARY RULERS TURN OFF GAS TO iSRAEL?

Another slap in the face for imperialism and zionism by SCAF?

Sukant Chandan,
Sons of Malcolm
22 April 2012

This story is just breaking, but it seems it could only have been the Supreme Council of the Armed Forces (SCAF) in Egypt, who are running Egypt, that could have done this.

If this is the case, then as I have been arguing for a while, in the absence of any serious anti-imperialist force in Egypt that can take the nation in such a direction, SCAF remains the surest bet for maintaining an independent nation. Protecting its independence and unity of the nation is a profound challenge seeing that division and violent destabilisation is what imperialism wants for the states of the Global South.

What I am not saying is that SCAF are some kind of wonderful socially progressive consistent anti-imperialist force. No, but nevertheless in the mess which is Egypt, and in the mess which is the region currently, they are not pro-imperialists but protectors, however problematic, of Egypt's national integrity and I think many if not most Egyptians would probably agree with that.

Last friday the Muslim Brotherhood held a sizeable protest at Tahrir Square asserting that 'SCAF and the usa are one hand', which is interesting as it's obvious that actually the Muslim Brotherhood and the usa are much closer to each other. Having meetings with John McCain and other elements in the most right-wing and militaristic elements of the usa ruling class supports this. So perhaps this latest move by SCAF is in part an answer to the Egyptian, Arab and people across the world that they are nothing of the sort, but rather they have plenty of latent anti-zionist and anti-imperialist vigour on their part.

Anti-imperialist and progressive and socialist forces in Egypt are just to weak, and trying to make out they are larger than they are, as many dogmatic leftists are doing, is playing with danger. The main political forces are the liberals and the islamists, both are choice political actors for imperialism. At the moment it seems that imperialism prefers a Muslim Brotherhood state over a Egyptian state run by SCAF.

It should be borne in mind that although SCAF have been in collaboration with imperialism for several decades, largely due to the balance of forces in the region and world, they have a strong nationalist tendency, and have engaged in some of the most important revolutionary upheavals in modern Arab history under the leadership of Gamam Abdel Nasser. It is a point worth bearing in mind whatever the problems with these states (and there are important differences between them) Tunisia, Egypt, Libya and Syria have been secular states which have not been borne out of empire, as the Gulf regimes have, but have been borne out of anti-imperialist struggle. It is no coincidence that in Tunisia with the regime change against Ben Ali, that we are seeing the rise of pro-empire islamists who are promoting Tunis as a launch pad for counter-revolution throughout the region, evidenced by them hosting the Friends of NATO conference (they call it 'Friends of Syria') just a few months ago.

We have not seen SCAF in Egypt play the same counter-revolutionary role, rather SCAF have slapped back imperialism many a time since the downfall of Muburak, and if this latest development is true, than here's another big slap in the face of imperialism and zionism.

Currently, without any other real social forces for anti-imperialism and anti-zionism in Egypt, SCAF remain the primary ally of the patriotic and anti-imperialist struggle in the country. While the MB islamists and others in power in Tunisia and throughout the region who are riding NATO bomber wings are facilitating the enemy throughout the region and protecting the Gulf regimes, Egypt refuses to be a base for overthrowing Syria, Iran etc, rather it seems its a bulwark against imperialism's rolling regime-change machine in the region.

SCAF's admission of an Iranian war ship through the Suez shortly after the exit of Muburak was a clear message to imperialism and zionism that although the west may have got rid of their man (Mubarak) that SCAF should not be considered a push over, and will not collaborate with the empire's plans for the region. Much more to say on the issue, but no doubt SCAF will be raising further eye brows in the coming period.

Egypt cancels natural gas deal with Israel

[source]

Egypt's national gas company EGAS announced Sunday that it will be cancelling its natural gas supply deal with Israel.

Egypt on Sunday notified EMG, the exporter that supplied Israel with natural gas, that the deal will be canceled.

A deal was reached in 2005 between the Israeli and Egyptian governments as part of a political agreement according to which Cairo undertook to allocate 7 billion cubic meters (BCM) of Egyptian gas to the Israeli market for 20 years, with an option to double the supply.

Sources close to EMG said in response, "Egypt does not understand what it is doing. This move will bring back the country - politically and economically – by 30 years. This is a breach of the peace agreement with Israel."

Egyptian militants have blown up the pipeline that was carrying gas to Israel at least 14 times since the popular uprising that ousted longtime Egyptian leader Hosni Mubarak.

Egypt ends gas deal with Israel, stakeholder says

[source]

Egypt has terminated a long-term deal to supply Israel with gas after the cross-border pipeline sustained months of sabotage since a revolt last year, a stakeholder in the deal said on Sunday.

Ampal-American Israel Corporation, a partner in the East Mediterreanean Gas Company (EMG), which operates the pipeline, said it had notified Egypt it was "terminating the gas and purchase agreement".

The company said in a statement that "EMG considers the termination attempt unlawful and in bad faith, and consequently demanded its withdrawal", and that EMG, Ampal, and EMG's other international shareholders were "considering their options and legal remedies as well as approaching the various governments".

BEAUTIFUL NEW VIDEO TO BRO BLAKK RASTA's SONG TO OUR 'BREDDA, FATHER & FRIEND' GADAFI

GADAFI VISITING LENIN's GRAVE IN 1976 (Lenin's birthday today)

"The revolutionary movement in the advanced countries would in fact be nothing but a sheer fraud if, in their struggle against capital, the workers of Europe and America were not closely and completely united with the hundreds upon hundreds of millions of “colonial” slaves, who are oppressed by that capital." - Lenin

"...the ordinary British worker would regard it as treachery if he was to help the dependent peoples to rebel against English domination. It is correct that the jingoist and chauvinist mood of the labour aristocracy in England and America forms the greatest danger for communism.." - Lenin

GADAFI: pEPSI/COCA-COLA IS AFRICAN! AFRICA SHOULD MAKE IT & SELL IT BACK TO THE wEST!

Gadafi was the pioneer of African unity/Pan-Africanism in the recent era. Gadafi was planning to do a lot more than he already had done for Pan-African development, including setting up a Pan-Africanist money wiring service (ploughing the money back into Pan-Africanist development, rather than it going into the west's coffers), and developing the Great Man Mad River project to bring water to the Sahara and Sahel regions of Africa.

This is why Libya became known as the 'shield of Africa', and this is why in the escalation of the White Power Structure's recolonisation of Africa, that Libya had to be neutralised. Algeria, Zimbabwe, South Africa are already in the cross-hairs of the white man.

OFFICIAL bRITISH GOVT MEMO STATING A DIVIDED ARAB IS NECESSARY FOR THEM (1915)

"What we want is not a united Arabia: but a weak and disunited Arabia split up into little principalities so far as possible under our suzerainty - but incapable of coordinated action against us, forming a buffer against the Powers in the West"

- memorandum from the Foreign Department of the (British) Government of India, c.1914.

This reminds me of when Gadafi in 2008 said at the Arab League that the Arab nations should stop using their intelligence services against each other, and "unite against their common enemy", all the while President Assad of Syria and President Bouteflika of Algeria were smiling on in enthusiastic agreement. Currently, it is the "Arab uprisings" which are weakening, dividing and handing over the remains of the region to imperialism.

BAN KI MOON's COMMENTS ON HIZBULLAH THE START OF A BIG PUSH AGAINST THE ORGANISATION?

Libya, Syria, Hizbullah next?

The pro-imperialist 'Arab uprisings' is aimed at neutralising all opposition to empire and its regional allies, especially against the Syria-Iran-Hizbullah-Palestinian axis, and ensuring the continuing reign of the west's most surest and valued allies in the region such as the Gulf states.

In the run up to an imperialist direct attack on Iran, Hizbullah and Lebanon, like Syria, will be targets for 'softening up', so when the war campaign on Iran starts, the Lebanese, Syrian and Palestinian fronts will be that much weaker. At least this is the rather obvious plan of the west.

The Palestinian Revolution is in great danger with Fatah playing a very weak role in the struggle (yes, that is very diplomatic language) and Hamas seemingly moving away from Iran, Hizbullah and Syria towards the pro-western Turkish and Gulfi agenda in the region. However, the Palestinian people are a very revolutionary people, and still have several fighting organisations such as Palestinian Islamic Jihad (very close to Iran and Lebanese Hizbullah), the PFLP and Popular Resistance Committees amongst others.

Are Ban Ki Moon's comments a nod from the imperialist-backed UN General Secretary that a new campaign of pressure and arrogance is starting against Lebanese Hizbullah?

It would make sense in the strategical approach of imperialism, as Hizbullah will have to be 'dealt with' some time or the other, and at a time when anti-Iranian, anti-Hizbullah and sectarian hatred of Christians and Shia Muslims has been escalating through the 'Arab uprisings', it is unfortunately only but a obvious development to now start escalating against Hizbullah.

BRO AKALA ON THE CHALLENGES OF STAYING TRUE TO OURSELVES AND CO-OPTION IN OUR MUSIC

YOUNG WOMAN LEAPS ON IRANIAN PRESIDENT's CAR

Typical british trickster from the bbc narrating this video tries to make out that the young sister is protesting the President. The narration is more correct when it states that "some would say" that this shows the close connection of Ahmadinejad to the masses of Iran, especially outside of the western-oriented middle classes in Tehran.

Ahmadinejad is wildly popular throughout Iran, as can be seen in the latter part of the video below.

BLACK FIREFIGHTER BEATEN UP BY pIGS IN LONDON WHEN TRYING TO ASSIST THEM

The Brother in question is a fire fighter, and had training to be a police officer. Just goes to show, doesnt matter how much you serve the white power structure, you will never be accepted, rather you will always be a potential target for brutality. This is the answer to the question "why an off-duty firefighter, wearing a pinstriped suit and offering assistance to the police, should have been dragged from his car, shot with a Taser, locked up for many hours and then prosecuted for an offence he did not commit by the very officers he was trying to help."

Black fireman says he was abused and Tasered by Met

[source]

Scotland Yard is facing a new case of alleged police racism after a black firefighter who tried to assist officers while off duty claimed he was targeted because of his skin colour, abused, assaulted and shot with a stun gun.

The complaint lodged by Edric Kennedy-Macfoy, 28, from north London, is the 10th case involving alleged racism known to have been referred to the official police watchdog in the last three weeks.

Kennedy-Macfoy was driving through Harrow around 3.30am on 4 September when he saw a young man hurl a rock at a police van. After noting a description of the young man, Kennedy-Macfoy, who also trained as a police constable, flagged down the van driver and approached a line of officers to pass the information on.

He said he was horrified at their response, which he alleges included officers behaving like "wild animals": swearing at him, dragging him from his car, subjecting him to a "violent" attack and eventually shooting him with a stun gun.

Kennedy-Macfoy was found not guilty in February of obstructing police. During a two-day trial at Brent magistrates court, Inspector David Bergum, who was present on the night, said his officers were in a "stressful" situation and had been dealing with a group of partygoers who had been throwing missiles at them.

He said of Kennedy-Macfoy: "I couldn't say he was anything to do with the party. The party was all black. He was black. He had driven through the cordon. I had to do a quick risk assessment."

Details of the inspector's comments in court were sent to the Metropolitan police's complaints department last week. The force confirmed four days later that it would refer the case to the Independent Police Complaints Commission (IPCC).

There are now 12 cases of alleged racism under investigation: six are being investigated internally at the Met, while the other five are being handled by the IPCC.

They include the case of Met police constable Alex MacFarlane, who discovered on Wednesday that he is to face criminal charges over a mobile phone recording which allegedly captured him racially abusing a black suspect.

Kennedy-Macfoy's complaint, which is against six police officers, brings the total number of Met officers currently under investigation for alleged racism to 26.

The firefighter, who left the Hendon police training academy after his mother became ill with cancer in 2005, said he hoped his complaint would make police "think twice" before stereotyping black men.

Although Kennedy-Macfoy has worked alongside police officers "almost every day" for six years, and has a number of close friends in the police, he said he had struggled to return to work as a firefighter since the experience.

On the night he was shot with the stun gun, he was wearing a three-piece pinstriped suit and driving a white Audi when he encountered a police roadblock and assumed there had been a road traffic accident.

In fact the police were dealing with the aftermath of a party that had been closed down, and officers had been subject to a hail of bottles and bricks. Kennedy-Macfoy had stopped behind a police van when he saw a young man pick up a rock.

"He launched it at this police van window and I was actually scared for whoever was in the police van," he said. "I knew it was occupied because the reverse lights kept on coming on and off."

The firefighter noted the man who had thrown the rock was black, wearing blue jeans, a black top and holding a red garment. When the van driver turned the vehicle, he tried to flag him down to pass on the description. According to Kennedy-Macfoy's complaint, the van driver did not let him speak, shouting: "Fuck off you prick."

When the van moved away, Kennedy-Macfoy drove to a cordon of police officers with shields further along the road. He said he pulled up by the officers for three reasons: to relay the description of the young man who had thrown the rock, request the badge number of the van driver who he alleged swore at him, so he could complain, and to ask for the quickest route home.

However, before he was able to convey the information, Kennedy-Macfoy alleges a number of officers began "hurling abuse" at him, charging at his car and grabbing him "viciously" through the windows.

He says he was dragged from the car and in the ensuing melee the officers repeatedly encircled him and shouted profanities. He said he replied calmly and showed his palms to the officers, telling them: "Listen guys, I haven't done anything wrong. I'm a firefighter – I work with you lot and I just want to explain something. I've showed no aggression toward any of you."

The fireman said he recalled police telling people who were filming the scene with their mobile phones: "Turn those fucking cameras off." He said the stun gun was discharged when he was walking backwards with his hands in the air.

In court, the police officer who discharged the weapon conceded he did not warn Kennedy-Macfoy he was about to be shot – an apparent contravention of Home Office guidelines.

Kennedy-Macfoy's complaint against police was submitted shortly after the attack. He alleged he was shot without warning and said he believed he had been targeted because of his race.

The Met should automatically refer all complaints involving the use of their Taser stun guns to the IPCC. However in Kennedy-Macfoy's case, the force decided to deal with the complaint internally for seven months. On Wednesday, following inquiries from the Guardian, and a letter from Kennedy-Macfoy's lawyers which drew attention to the evidence officers gave in court about race, the Met decided it would refer the case to the IPCC.

The Met said in a statement that it had not automatically referred the case to the IPCC due to "oversight". It added: "Such allegations are taken extremely seriously and the investigation will explore all the circumstances and evidence … As a Taser was discharged this case is a mandatory referral to the IPCC." The IPCC confirmed it had received the referral and was "assessing" the complaint.

Kennedy-Macfoy said he might not have pursued his case if police had not sought to prosecute him – a move he alleges required them to "concoct false accounts of events" to justify their actions.

"People make mistakes; you've got good cops and bad cops," he said. "People act differently under pressure. If at that point they had just said: 'Mate, so sorry – we have been dealing with this party and got it totally wrong,' I really wouldn't have pursued anything. I still would have been pissed off, but I would have accepted their apology and their acknowledgement that they had messed up."

If the attempt to prosecute Kennedy-Macfoy had succeeded he would have faced losing his job. He was acquitted on 7 February, despite the evidence against him given by several police officers.

Kennedy-Macfoy's solicitor, Shamik Dutta, of Bhatt Murphy solicitors, voiced concerns at his client's allegations, saying: "The question many people are bound to ask is why an off-duty firefighter, wearing a pinstriped suit and offering assistance to the police, should have been dragged from his car, shot with a Taser, locked up for many hours and then prosecuted for an offence he did not commit by the very officers he was trying to help.

"Our client now expects a comprehensive investigation which examines what role his race has had in the horrific events he has been forced to suffer."

Kennedy-Macfoy said this was not his first experience of discrimination at the hands of police: "I always get stopped by the police and it's always the same. [Police say:] 'Oh, you know, loads of these cars get stolen, so we just need to check you are who you say you are, blah blah blah.' And I know it is because I'm black. My friend Vince, he's a fireman – he borrows my car sometimes and it's a running joke at the fire station – he's never been stopped."

Brian Paddick, a former senior officer at Scotland Yard, said on Thursday he would appoint an independent commissioner for standards to help tackle "endemic" racism within the Metropolitan police if he were elected London mayor in May.

TURKEY TURNED TO NATO & SOLD OUT IRAN & SYRIA

'Promoting the Turkish model of Islam across the Arab world is an American project'

(This is a quote from an article in Today’s Zaman, October 5, 2011, quoted in a longer and interesting piece by by usa-based imperialist risk analysts, Jamestown - Sukant Chandan, Sons of Malcolm)

As Turkey reached an agreement with the U.S. to install NATO’s radar units in Turkey, Iran failed to drag Turkey out of the West. It further isolated Iran in the region.

Turkey’s decision to support American plans in the Middle East have deeply disturbed Iran. Because there is no neighboring state for Iran to build an alliance with, Iran will build alliances with non-state actors. It is a well-known fact that Iran has had alliances with Hezbollah, Ansar al-Sunnah, Hamas, etc.

The AKP government has pulled Hamas away from Iran’s influence. As an outcome of an arrangement between Turkey and Hamas, the organization shut down its offices in Damascus. At this stage, the best option for Iran is to build a Shiite and Kurdish alliance.

As we look at the interests of both the Kurds and the Shiites there is ground to build such an alliance. Turkey’s moderate Islamic model is a direct challenge to the Iranian model of Islam. Promoting the Turkish model of Islam across the Arab world is an American project

SIS ASMA ASSAD's CLOTHES MORE IMPORTANT THAN BEHEADING WOMAN IN sAUDI

Ignore the beheadeding of a Sri Lankan woman in Saudi, worry about how Asma Assad dresses

Sukant Chandan
Sons of Malcolm
20 April 2012

The above picture is page 20 from the british guardian newspaper of 19 April 2012. The main top story is a totally boring story of how pro-regime change country's ambassadors wives to Syria are campaigning against Asma Assad, the wife of President Assad. It focuses on Asma Assad's clothes, and other inane nothingness. The kind of desperate propaganda campaign against Syria that one has come to expect from imperialist media.

Here is some of the really important information on what is happening in Syria in the article: "On Syrian TV on Wednesday Asma avoided any hint of glamour, dressing down in a sweater over a simple dress with her hair braided and pinned up. Her husband wore a polo shirt with an identity pass on a ribbon around his neck, like other volunteers. The two packed boxes, sealed them with Scotch tape and carried them over to stacks of aid awaiting distribution."

How fascinating! Nearly as interesting as the alleged emails between the president and his wife, emails which showed nothing interesting at all, but actually back fired on the imperialist media in humanising the couple, admitted by the fools which pass as 'journalists' at the guardian themselves.

There is then the typically gushing story about one of imperialism's favourite agents in the world, no not the trickster which is the Dalai Lama, but Ang Su Kyi, who, when she isn't posing for pictures with western idiots like british prime minister cameron, she is going on about how she misses "my Oxford", she perhaps misses hobnobbing with all manner of people in the british intelligence community.

The second story from bottom on the furthest right-hand column is a story which reads: "A woman could face the death penalty by beheading after she was arrested on suspicion of casting a spell on a 13-year-old girl during a family shopping trip, a police spokesperson said yesterday. The Daily Okaz reported that a Saudi man complained that during a family shopping trip, his daughter suddenly began "acting in an abnormal way and that happened after she came close to the Sri Lankan woman." The Sri Lankan woman was in a large shopping mall in the port city of Jeddah. "He reported her to the security forces, asking for her arrest and the specialised units dealt with the situation swiftly and succeeded in arresting her," Okaz reported on Wednesday. Saudi Arabia, a U.S. ally, is an absolute monarchy that has no written criminal code and where court rulings are based on judges' interpretation of Islamic Sharia law."

You can see the priorities of the brits, including in their liberal-left broadsheet that a regime that has no pretence of any kind of respect for its citizens (especially if they are non-Muslim and non-Arab people of the Global South) is less of a concern that the clothes of the wife of the Syrian president, or how a british tool in Myanmar wants to go hang out with her white friends in Oxford.

Brits right across the political spectrum from far-right to far-left and everything in between will fawn and defer to the monarchist dictatorship of Saudi Arabia more than comparatively (or incomparably?) more progressive and secular Syria. Where is trickery clinton, the great champion of feminism when it comes to this brutality in Saudi? She is too busy planning her war games against Syria.

The reason why the west is so pro-Saudi is that is historically the Saudi state is a creation of the brits, a state constructed as insurance for british interests in the region. Saudi will do all it can to scupper any real independence movement of the region. One example is this is the Saudis begging the usa to bomb Iran, or in the refined language of the Saudi regime: "cut off the head of the snake".

The other reason why the brits across the political spectrum prefer Saudi over progressive and independent states in the region is that Saudi is a major supplier of oil to imperialism and Saudi has major arms contracts with the brits which has caused scandal and controversy.

The west have been successful in directing the Arab uprisings to knock out the west's enemies, and ensure the on-going stability and rise in power in the region of Saudi and the other british created Gulf monarchies such as Qatar (host to usa army's biggest military base in the region - 'centcom'), Bahrain and UAE.

It is also the Saudi state which backs most of the mosques in britain, and teaches its, let's say unique version of Islam, keeping the masses of Muslims in britain in step with the nation's foreign policy. So while many Saudi-backed mosques in britain refuse to have any political discussion about anything that will challenge imperialism across the Muslim world, they will however openly promote regime change in Syria through raising 'charity funds' for example for the counter-revolutionaries in Syria. However, the rulers of Saudi know very well that they too could be up for regime change if their imperialist masters so wish. Former King Faisal is said by some to have been killed with western hands behind the assassination, as Faisal was seen to be too independent especially after using the oil weapon in 1973.

Once the Saudi state is overthrown by he people of that country, everything in the region and in the wider Muslim community throughout the world will see a historical shift away from anti-human ideology of the Saudi state, and Muslims in the world will develop movements inspired by Islam that have a clear outlook on the rights of the peoples, people-centred development and anti-imperialist strategies that seek to free the Muslim peoples. For the time being, we are seeing too many people allying with the brits and the Saudis against the people of the region, and also allying with imperialist ambassador's wives whose arrogance is only matched by their jealousy towards Asma Assad.

QUOTE FROM BRO AKALA ON CULTURE AS A WEAPON

"Culture is a weapon and if you don't control your culture that weapon will probably be turned on you."

DPRK (north Korean) LEADERSHIP WISH ZIMBABWE & SYRIA THE BEST FOR DEFENDING THEIR INDEPENDENCE

The Democratic Peoples Republic of Korea, especially its first leader Kim Il Sung (pictured with former Syrian president, Hafez Al-Assad) is a pioneer of third world independence and sovereignty. DPRK and Kim Il Sung were fundamental to the development of the Non-Aligned Movement as an anti-imperialist united world front, and many other issues. It was Kim Il Sung who came up with the concept of 'South-South' relations, basically a solidarity of the nations of the Global South.

New secret files from the british government have come out exposing some of the well-known crimes of the british colonial empire. These files should have been released in the 1980s, but the brits, in their typically shifty tricky style made sure they were kept from public view for another few decades.

These files include the crimes of the brits when Kenya was their formal colony, and President Obama's father is mentioned in them:

"The name of Barack Obama, the father of the American president, is on a list of names revealed in a hitherto secret British colonial file of Kenyans studying in the US.

"The file notes that the US state department had told British officials in 1959 that they were concerned Kenyan students in America had a reputation for "falling into the wrong hands".

"US officials complained that Kenyan students were becoming "anti-American and anti-white" just at the time Barack Obama Senior was given a grant to study in America"

The newspaper article which runs this story also states that President Obama's paternal grandfather was involved in the main organisation fighting for Kenyan liberation, Land and Freedom Army aka Mau-Mau, and was "subjected to beatings and abuse which caused permanent physical disabilities, and a hatred of the British."

michael white (no pun, his actual name), an associate editor at the Guardian writes in relation to this: "President Obama seems content to overlook the offence; he has more important things to worry about."

I write and talk a lot about the way the white power structure from both whites and sell-out uncle tom non-whites try in many ways, often in underhand and indirect ways, to ensure that non-whites forsake their historic tasks to themselves and their ancestors in forgoing the liberation struggle against imperialism. This is exactly what mr white is doing here, and it is this campaign that is constantly attacking us all around us from the media, music, film, internet etc that we must develop our revolutionary conciousness to resist effectively.

Here you have clearly President Obama's ancestors being shown as to having been tortured by the brits in the course of fighting for Kenya's freedom, and mr white states that this is somehow just a non-issue for Obama and he has more important things to worry about! At least we know what mr white thinks of his ancestors, but I guess it is one moral code for himself and his privileged white family, but a totally immoral code that he is promoting for us non-whites.

Of course for mr white anything must be more important than worrying about our forefathers and foremothers being tortured by the colonialists, such as playing up how the sadistic massacres of the brits in Asia were beneficial to Asians.

As President Obama is the head representative of the usa empire, he must bear a senior responsibility of usa imperialism's crimes against the peoples of the world. This should not keep us blind from the contradictions within this person. If his forefathers were tortured by the brits, than he must have some sense of  loyalty to them, and if he doesn't, people should demand that he stay loyal to his Kenyan ancestors.

It is well known that Obama is not so close to his Kenyan family, and there's no doubt that the white power structure which is controlling Obama is worried about him getting too close to his ancestors, this is part of the reason mr white is trying to convince readers of his article that Obama has "more important" things to worry about. Obama is closer to his white side of his family from his mother's side. I have no idea what were the politics of Obama's white mother is, but one would hope that she would have encouraged him to positively engage with his Kenyan family, and not encouraging him to do so could very well contribute to a crisis of identity and politics for Obama.

President Obama is a black man, and is an African man from a family of militant anti-imperialist revolutionaries. He is also the president of the usa which is re-colonising Africa. Obama has been a leading party in the bombing of Africa in the six month cowardly bombing nato bombing campaign of Libya (known as 'the shield of Africa' for its vanguard role in developing Pan-African economy and politics) which killed around 50,000 people, and also has high responsibility in  sending armed forces to Uganda under the false pretences of fighting the Lords Resistance Army.

Obama is trapped. If he re-connects to his ancestors in any real and meaningful way, he faces a total attack on his character by the white power structure, and is in danger of being removed from the scene totally, something which has happened to many a person in the usa. If he continues to serve his white masters, he will forsake his ancestors and his soul and spirituality will suffer as a consequence. Louis Farrakhan has explored some of these contradictory issues and consequences of such, in several speeches in recent years.

Far from 'overlooking' the offences that empire has wrought on our ancestors, and continues to today, we might rather engage on a profound and deep level with their struggles, which are our struggles and fight white supremacy and empire today. Part of this struggle means attaining full compensation to all victims of brit torture and full reparations for the crimes committed by the brits in our lands. We cannot and will not ever 'overlook' these tasks.

PS: My paternal grandfater Gopal Singh Chandan, supported the Mau-Mau leadership and fought in Kenya for the nation's independence. He also took one of the very few pictures of Mau-Mau leader Deedan Kimaathi. I will be writing more about this in the coming weeks.

SUKANT CHANDAN DISCUSSING ELECTIONS & POLITICS IN ENGLAND ON THE ISLAM CHANNEL

Me with a few other guests discussing elections, politics, identity, racism, role of Wales and Scotland etc.

I said "I think" too much, sorry about that.

Also, John didnt know I was invited onto his show, and I didnt realise I was invited onto his show, so he was a little taken aback (we have worked together in the past, but have kinda fell out over Libya and Syria, although I am still working together on common positions, and engaging our differences).

So it was kinda funny me saying all that I want in direct and indirect criticism of the english/white left to John's face, without him having the chance to disagree.

Having blasted and engaged in public debates with other swp/counterfire people like richard seymour, joseph daher and mark bergfeld on Libya and Syria, I am still very keen to debate others with differing opinions on public platforms. People deserve to hear the differences being explained and for people to make informed decisions as to where they stand on these important issues and others.

Weyman Bennett ('united against fascism' and swp leader) has in the past said to me in conversation that he wants me to come to their annual conference called 'marxism conference' to discuss issues pertaining to the anti-racist struggle and our differences, so has a few other senior swp people, I always reply, put me on a platform and pay me a speakers fee like everyone else, and I would be more than happy to come. No invite to date; I take that as a compliment.
