KUKA regularly hosts the Innovation Award to serve both industry and academia, joining the two to help tackle some of the industry's most challenging applications in robotic automation. For 2016, KUKA had dozens of entries from institutions around the world, resulting in six finalists. Each of the finalists tackles problems in creating flexible, easy-to-program, collaborative robotic automation solutions. All six of them were worthy entries. On October 30 2015, the 9th edition of the Accenture Innovation Awards took place in DeFabrique in Utrecht. We welcomed over 1800 guests to discover and celebrate innovation. Throughout the day 22 speakers took to main stage to share their vision, 55 round table discussions took place and 50 game-changers demonstrated their innovations on the innovation market. There are six finalists for the KUKA Innovation Award 2016 - an annual award given out to the best and brightest researchers in the world of robotics. This video gives an overview of the entry from Team RoBinCo - MRK Systeme GmbH Augsburg: Robot for Bin picking and Collaboration.
