One of the two Macedonian entries to the Yugoslav finals for the Eurovision Song Contest 1987, held on March 7th, at Sava Centar, Belgrade. "Anuška" finished high 5th in a high competition of 24. "Anuška" was first submitted to the call for entries to Jugovizija 1986, but it was rejected by RTV Skopje. Kaliopi was supposed to sing it. Koprov re-submitted it the following year, it was accepted, but by that time he broke up the collaboration with Kaliopi (who also had their song at the same competition), and gave the song to Ana Kostovska.
In 1987 the new controversial proposition were introduced about the selection of the songs and voting, that stayed in power until the last all-Yugoslav pre-selection in 1991. All TV studios were nominating 2 songs that were guaranteed participants (which made the number 16) and few more from which 8 more were selected based on the quality. Some of the studios didn't have any extra songs chosen, and TV Zagreb had 4 plus, which made it to 6 in total. (2 of them were on the top of scoreboard, 2 on the bottom). This year had a record of 24 songs competing (1981-1991). The new voting system allowed the TV studio's jury to be able to vote for their own entries, most of them used the most this opportunity, in the next 4 years as well. Every jury member (3 from ever TV studio - 24 in total) could vote only for 5 songs which marginalized many of the songs, and resulted in 5 songs with 0 points.
Ana Kostovska is a Macedonian actress and a singer, who started her singing career in the cult band Bastion in 1983 (with Kiril Džajkovski and Ljubomir Stojsavljević). They recorded few songs in Macedonian for the Music production of RTV Skopje before releasing their debut self-titled album in Serbian for PGP-RTB in 1984. In 2006 their first album was re-released in Macedonia under the title Works and Rew-works. The CD also included tribute cover versions recorded by several, mostly younger Macedonian bands and solo artists. Ana made her festival debut at the Yugoslav Days of Pop Music - Opatija 1986, music festival organized by the Union of Yugoslav Radio Television stations - JRT singing with the Macedonian team competing to become the Yugoslav entrants to the Knokke Cup. She sang the solo track "Emil, vrati se" (later to be credited to Bastion) and "O, kakov den" together with Kaliopi and Aleksandar Najdovski. She will be at the Macedonian team for Knokke Cup the following year as well, but the competition failed. The Bastion officially disbanded in 1987. Ana continued singing alongside her main profession - acting, making rare appearances at music festivals as well (Jugovizija 1987 - "Anuška", Jugovizija 1989 - "Umesto da se ljubimo", Makfest 1989 - "Konji, brzajte" - Best Interpretation Award, Mesam 1989 - "U snu san", Makfest 1990 - "Mojata pesna", Skopje Fest 1994 - "Ti, ramnodušen", Interfest 1994 - "Daj mi samo edna dzvezda"...). In 1986, the Union of Yugoslav Radio Television stations - JRT decided to participate at the Knokke Cup, music competition held in Belgium, where a team of singers compete with a 15-20 mins show. it was decided the pre-selection to be held within the Yugoslav Days of Pop Music - Opatija, and all the RTV were asked to send their entrants. Six out of eight did (except Zagreb and Novi Sad). The people in charge at RTS Skopje did not get that is a singing and not a song competion, so they send the Macedonian team of Ana Kostovska, Kaliopi Bukleska and Aleksandar Najdovski with new songs. They finished second to the Slovenians Nada Žgur, Branka Kraner and Slavko Ivačić, who sang well known tracks. The pre-selection was held the next year as well, but there were conceptual problems and misunderstands - most of the teams sang full playback, so no entrants were sent to Belgium.

Kaliopi Bukleska is a Macedonian singer-songwriter. In her career, Kaliopi has transitioned from the lead vocal of her eponymous band in 1980s Yugoslavia to an established vocalist and composer in Macedonia and across the ex-Yugoslavian region.
Aleksandar Najdovski was the vocalist of Algoritam, a Macedonian pop band active mid 1980s. They made their first recordings for the Music production of RTV Skopje in 1985. The were participants on the first two editions of TV Spot Fest (1985 - "Ljuboven slučaj", 1986 - "Potrebna si mi"), as well on Makfest 1986 ("Posleden tanc"). Their vocalist Aleksandar Najdovski also sang in the Macedonian team competing to become the Yugoslav entrants to the Knokke Cup at the national pre-selection held within the Yugoslav Days of Pop Music - Opatija 1986, music festival organized by the Union of Yugoslav Radio Television stations - JRT. Aleksandar in Opatija sang the solo track "Natali" and "O, kakov den" together with Kaliopi and Ana Kostovska.

Ana won the Best Interpretation Award for the unusual song "Konji, brzajte", which became an evergreen, at Makfest Song Festival 1989. In also finished 5th in the finals with 93 points. There were 28 songs in competition, of which 22 made it to the final evening. 20 songs were released on the festival's cassettes compilation.

Winner of the Best Arrangement Award (Živojin Glišić) at the third edition of Interfest - International Pop Music festival held in Bitola 1992-1996. Pop music
Pop music (a term that derives from "popular") is a genre of popular music that originated in its modern form in the Western world during the 1950s and 1960s, deriving from rock and roll. The terms "popular music" and "pop music" are often used interchangeably, although the former describes all music that is popular (and can include any style).
Pop music is eclectic, and often borrows elements from other styles such as urban, dance, rock, Latin, and country; nonetheless, there are core elements that define pop music. Identifying factors include generally short to medium-length songs written in a basic format (often the verse-chorus structure) as well as the common employment of repeated choruses, melodic tunes, and hooks.
Definitions
David Hatch and Stephen Millward define pop music as "a body of music which is distinguishable from popular, jazz, and folk musics". According to Pete Seeger, pop music is "professional music which draws upon both folk music and fine arts music". Although pop music is seen as just the singles charts, it is not the sum of all chart music. The music charts contain songs from a variety of sources, including classical, jazz, rock, and novelty songs. Pop music, as a genre, is seen as existing and developing separately. Thus "pop music" may be used to describe a distinct genre, aimed at a youth market, often characterized as a softer alternative to rock and roll.

Yugoslav Radio Television
The Yugoslav Radio Television (Jugoslavenska radiotelevizija or Jugoslovenska radio-televizija) or JRT was the national public broadcasting system in the SFR Yugoslavia. It consisted of eight subnational radio and television broadcast centers with each one headquartered in one of the six constituent republics and two autonomous provinces of Yugoslavia.
Each television center created its own programming independently, and some of them operated several channels. The system dissolved during the breakup of Yugoslavia in the early 1990s when most republics became independent countries. As a result, the once subnational broadcasting centers became public broadcasters of the newly independent states, with altered names:
JRT was one of the founding members of the European Broadcasting Union and the SFR Yugoslavia was the only socialist country among its founding members. Among other activities, it organized the Yugoslavian Contest for the Eurovision Song Contest and broadcast both of events for the Yugoslav audience. JRT's news program, TV Dnevnik broadcasts on all stations today in 6 (7 if Kosovo is recognized by someone as independent) countries.

Television station
A television station is a business, organisation or other enterprise, such as an amateur television (ATV) operator, that transmits (broadcasts) content over terrestrial television. A television transmission can occur via analog television signals or, more recently, via digital television signals. Broadcast television systems standards are set by the government, and these vary around the world. Television stations broadcasting over an analog system were typically limited to one television channel, but digital television enables broadcasting via subchannels as well. The term "television station" is normally applied to terrestrial television stations, and not to cable television or satellite television broadcasting.
Television stations usually require a broadcast license from a government agency which sets the requirements and limitations on the station. In the United States, for example, a television license defines the broadcast range, or geographic area, that the station is limited to, allocates the broadcast frequency of the radio spectrum for that station's transmissions, sets limits on what types of television programs can be programmed for broadcast, and requires a station to broadcast a minimum amount of certain programs types, such as public affairs messages, among other conditions.

All TV studios were nominating 2 songs that were guaranteed participants (which made the number 16) and few more from which 8 more were selected based on the quality. Some of the studios didn't have any extra songs chosen, and TV Zagreb had 4 plus, which made it to 6 in total. (2 of them were on the top of scoreboard, 2 on the bottom). This year had a record of 24 songs competing (1981-1991). The new voting system allowed the TV studio's jury to be able to vote for their own entries, most of them used the most this opportunity, in the next 4 years as well. Every jury member (3 from ever TV studio - 24 in total) could vote only for 5 songs which marginalized many of the songs, and resulted in 5 songs with 0 points.

In 1986, the Union of Yugoslav Radio Television stations - JRT decided to participate at the Knokke Cup, music competition held in Belgium, where a team of singers compete with a 15-20 mins show. it was decided the pre-selection to be held within the Yugoslav Days of Pop Music - Opatija, and all the RTV were asked to send their entrants. Six out of eight did (except Zagreb and Novi Sad). The people in charge at RTS Skopje did not get that is a singing and not a song competion, so they send the Macedonian team of Ana Kostovska, Kaliopi Bukleska and Aleksandar Najdovski with new songs. They finished second to the Slovenians Nada Žgur, Branka Kraner and Slavko Ivačić, who sang well known tracks. The pre-selection was held the next year as well, but there were conceptual problems and misunderstands - most of the teams sang full playback, so no entrants were sent to Belgium.

Full show "Zlatni hit" - the competition evening of the 6th Belgrade's International Music Fair (MEđunarodni SAjam Muzike) MESAM 1989, held on 8.11.1989 in Sava Centar, Belgrade. The video included the first part of the evening, where all 19 songs in competition were performed and the full awards ceremony. The interval act ("Hitovi MESAM-a 1984-1988, where 13 songs from the previous years were performed) is missing as it was not broadcasted live, but later.
I have found this footage online, poor quality and asynchronous audio, I tried to improve it and put it all together for all those who want to have a look how it looked like 25 years ago, although this is not one of the best years of MESAM.

Na samom početku Prvog svetskog rata Filip (Nebojša Dugalić), Srbin, direktor škole u srpskoj provinciji, dobija poziv da hitno ode u Beograd po ratni raspored. Svoju suprugu Leu (Iva Krajnc), Slovenku, nema kod koga da ostavi jer su se njih dvoje skoro doselili u varošicu i nikog zaista ne poznaju. Azem (Miki Manojlović), Albanac, školski poslužitelj, Filipu daje besu (obećanje) da će čuvati Leu i da joj se ništa neće dogoditi. Lea i Azem, bivaju prinuđeni na suživot u napuštenoj školi. Njihov odnos se razvija od trpeljivosti, preko mržnje do tolerancije i neobičnog prijateljstva. U školi se nastanjuje i šarmantni, mladi poručnik srpske vojske (Raša Bukvić) kome se Lea od prvog trenutka dopada. Međutim, između Lee i Azima se događa, neočekivana, zbog bese zabranjena i nemoguća ljubav. Tada se vraća Filip, a rat stiže konačno i do varošice. Filip i Lea odvode svoje đake u izbeglištvo, dok Azem ostaje da čuva školu. Besa je ispunjena, ali i nije....

An avalanche of water from three overflowing rivers swept through a small city in Colombia while people slept, destroying homes and killing at least 127 unsuspecting residents in their sleep, authorities said Saturday. The Colombia Red Cross said 220 people were missing and 400 were injured in the incident ... Many of the residents did not have enough time to climb on top of their roofs or seek refuge on higher ground ... ....
