Premio Friuli Venezia Giulia Fotografia 2016, abbiamo intervistato Giovanna Calvenzi curatrice della mostra, autorevole riferimento nel panorama della Fotografia, che ci concede di conoscere meglio la costruzione dell'antologica su Toni Nicolini (1935 - 2012), fotografo milanese tra i più importanti esponenti della fotografia italiana, approfondendo la fotografia dell’autore che ha saputo mettere prima di tutto la Fotografia davanti a sè stesso.
Giovanna Calvenzi si è laureata in Lettere nel 1973. Dopo avere insegnato per undici anni storia della fotografia in un istituto professionale milanese, dal 1985 è photo-editor e ha collaborato con diversi periodici italiani. Dal 2012 è consulente per l’immagine della Periodici San Paolo. Insegna photo-editing e svolge un’intensa attività di studio sulla fotografia contemporanea.

Toni Seelos wurde als WM Doppelmeister 1933 in Innsbruck und 1935 in Mürren gefeiert und ihm zu Ehren benannte man die Seefelder Sprungschanze in Toni-Seelos-Olympiaschanze.

In France "Seul ce soir" is one of the songs closely associated with the Second World War (together with Rina Ketty's "J'attendraiwhich was recorded in 1938). It was created by the legendary French female crooner Léo Marjane (*1912) in 1941 and became her most enduring hit song. The song spoke to the many women who were seperated from their husbands by the war. Many versions were recorded - mainly by female singers and orchestras such as Django Reinhardt and Fud Candrix. Male versions are rather rare.
Today's video features such a rare version by Toni Bert (1906-1988) - one of the many "chanteurs de charme" of the 1930s and 40s whose career lasted roughly a decade (1935-45). It is a charming version with great orchestration by Felix Chardon and his orchestra.

Born at Hohenburg Castle, in Upper Bavaria, Antonia was the fourth daughter of Guillaume IV, Grand Duke of Luxembourg, who reigned between 1905 and 1912, and Marie Anne, a princess of the Portuguese House of Braganza. Her maternal grandparents were Miguel of Portugal and Adelaide of Löwenstein-Wertheim-Rosenberg.
She was the younger sister of two successive Grand Duchesses: Marie-Adélaïde and Charlotte. In the family she was called "Toni"
.
Antonia became the second wife of Rupprecht, Crown Prince of Bavaria. The two were engaged on 26 August 1918. At the time, Rupprecht was Generalfeldmarschall in the Imperial German army, and had successfully commanded the German Sixth Army at the Battle of Lorraine. This led to criticism of the close ties between the Luxembourgian Grand Ducal Family and the royalty of the German Empire at a time when Luxembourg was occupied by Germany. This added to the pressure already on Grand Duchess Marie-Adélaïde, who was forced to abdicate on 10 January 1919. Despite the abdication of her elder sister, and the overthrow of the Kingdom of Bavaria in favour of a republic, the two were married on 7 April 1921 at Hohenburg Castle.
As opponents of the Nazi regime, Antonia and Rupprecht were forced into exile in Italy in 1939. From here, they moved to Hungary. When Germany occupied Hungary in October 1944, Antonia and her children were captured, while Rupprecht, still in Italy, evaded arrest. They were imprisoned at Sachsenhausen. In early April 1945, they were moved to the Dachau concentration camp. Although liberated that same month, the imprisonment greatly impaired Antonia's health, and she died nine years later, at Lenzerheide, Switzerland.
Antonia and Rupprecht had the 6 children:

Plot: Political intrigue and psychological drama run parallel. The queen is in seclusion, veiling her face for the ten years since her husband's assassination, longing to join him in death. Zum Gedenken an 100 Jahre Toni Seelos. Toni Seelos lebte vom 04.03.1911 bis 01.06.2006 und gilt als Erfinder des Parallelschwungs, Slalomkönig der 30er und 'Olympiasieger' der Herzen. Toni Seelos wurde als WM Doppelmeister 1933 in Innsbruck und 1935 in Mürren gefeiert und ihm zu Ehren benannte man die Seefelder Sprungschanze in Toni-Seelos-Olympiaschanze.

Born at Hohenburg Castle, in Upper Bavaria, Antonia was the fourth daughter of Guillaume IV, Grand Duke of Luxembourg, who reigned between 1905 and 1912, and Marie Anne, a princess of the Portuguese House of Braganza. Her maternal grandparents were Miguel of Portugal and Adelaide of Löwenstein-Wertheim-Rosenberg. She was the younger sister of two successive Grand Duchesses: Marie-Adélaïde and Charlotte. Born at Hohenburg Castle, in Upper Bavaria, Antonia was the fourth daughter of Guillaume IV, Grand Duke of Luxembourg, who reigned between 1905 and 1912, and Marie Anne, a princess of the Portuguese House of Braganza. Her maternal grandparents were Miguel of Portugal and Adelaide of Löwenstein-Wertheim-Rosenberg.
She was the younger sister of two successive Grand Duchesses: Marie-Adélaïde and Charlotte. In the family she was called "Toni"

Antonia became the second wife of Rupprecht, Crown Prince of Bavaria. The two were engaged on 26 August 1918. At the time, Rupprecht was Generalfeldmarschall in the Imperial German army, and had successfully commanded the German Sixth Army at the Battle of Lorraine. This led to criticism of the close ties between the Luxembourgian Grand Ducal Family and the royalty of the German Empire at a time when Luxembourg was occupied by Germany. This added to the pressure already on Grand Duchess Marie-Adélaïde, who was forced to abdicate on 10 January 1919. Despite the abdication of her elder sister, and the overthrow of the Kingdom of Bavaria in favour of a republic, the two were married on 7 April 1921 at Hohenburg Castle.
As opponents of the Nazi regime, Antonia and Rupprecht were forced into exile in Italy in 1939. From here, they moved to Hungary. When Germany occupied Hungary in October 1944, Antonia and her children were captured, while Rupprecht, still in Italy, evaded arrest. They were imprisoned at Sachsenhausen. In early April 1945, they were moved to the Dachau concentration camp. Although liberated that same month, the imprisonment greatly impaired Antonia's health, and she died nine years later, at Lenzerheide, Switzerland.
Antonia and Rupprecht had the 6 children:

wife to be has Hazel reminiscing on a series of events that confirm, adults can never be trusted.

Coming roughly mid-point in a remarkable run of features that included La Chienne (1931), Boudu Saved from Drowning (1932), La Grande Illusion (1937) and La Règle du jeu (1939), Renoir’s Toni is often regarded as the major precursor of neorealist cinema.
Shot in the summer of 1934, the film – like Visconti’s Ossessione (below) – is built around a crime passionel. Italian immigrant labourer Toni (Charles Blavette) arrives in the French town of Martigues on the Mediterranean coast and moves in with his landlady Marie (Jenny Hélia). Before long, however, he falls for the vivacious Josefa (Celia Montalvan), a Spanish girl whose marriage to a boorish foreman does little to dim Toni’s passion.
What’s most striking about Toni is less Renoir’s basic plot but his treatment of it – his attitude towards the material. Reflecting later in life on the film’s influence on neorealism, the director himself shrugged off any direct link. “The Italian films are magnificent dramatic productions,” he wrote in his memoirs My Life and My Films, published in 1974, “whereas in Toni I was at pains to avoid the dramatic… My aim was to give the impression that I was carrying a camera and microphone in my pocket and recording whatever came my way, regardless of its comparative importance.”

Intervención de Toni Nadal en el Congreso "Lo Que De Verdad Importa" celebrado en Madrid el 30 de noviembre de 2012.
Entrenador y tío de Rafa Nadal, ha sabido formar a esta gran figura del tenis español no sólo como deportista de élite, sino también como persona: 'Aunque a ti te vayan las cosas muy bien, aunque tengas dinero y éxito, tendrás que aguantarte, porque habrá cosas que no podrás controlar. Morirá un familiar. Te dejará la novia. Y te tendrás que aguantar'. Eso se tiene que entrenar, lo mismo que en el tenis el drive. Es fundamental para ser más feliz y mejor persona".
