A top FBI official testifying about the bureau’s withholding of information pertaining to the investigation of Hillary Clinton’s e-mail scandal was issued a subpoena on the spot by the chairman of the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform.
The subpoena was issued on live, national television.
It would appear Congress is a little fed up with people covering up for Hillary’s lawlessness.
Rep. Jason Chaffetz was clearly frustrated by the FBI’s stonewalling of information on an investigation that allowed Clinton to skate after mishandling classified information during her tenure at the State Department.
He asked Jason Herring, the acting assistant director for congressional affairs, “What information do you believe that Congress does not have the right to see?”

The House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform held a hearing on Tuesday as part of its investigation into Hillary Clinton’s use of a private email server. The Committee issued a subpoena to several witnesses, including former top Clinton aide Bryan Pagliano, compelling the appearance of those individuals on Capitol Hill.
Pagliano ignored the subpoena and failed to appear before the Committee. Chairman Jason Chaffetz briefly addressed Pagliano’s absence during the hearing on Tuesday, saying there would be consequences for former Clinton aides failure to appear.
After a witness ignores a subpoena and fails to appear, the committee rules generally require a majority vote of the full committee authorizing a resolution of noncompliance to be reported to the entire House of Representatives. After the matter is reported to the full House, a floor vote is taken to determine whether a resolution of contempt may be issued against the offending individual. It takes a majority vote in the House to approve a resolution of contempt.

Congressional oversight
Congressional oversight is oversight by the United States Congress over the Executive Branch, including the numerous U.S. federal agencies. Congressional oversight includes the review, monitoring, and supervision of federal agencies, programs, activities, and policy implementation. Congress exercises this power largely through its congressional committee system. However, oversight, which dates to the earliest days of the Republic, also occurs in a wide variety of congressional activities and contexts. These include authorization, appropriations, investigative, and legislative hearings by standing committees; specialized investigations by select committees; and reviews and studies by congressional support agencies and staff.
Congress’s oversight authority derives from its “implied” powers in the Constitution, public laws, and House and Senate rules. It is an integral part of the American system of checks and balances.

After a witness ignores a subpoena and fails to appear, the committee rules generally require a majority vote of the full committee authorizing a resolution of noncompliance to be reported to the entire House of Representatives. After the matter is reported to the full House, a floor vote is taken to determine whether a resolution of contempt may be issued against the offending individual. It takes a majority vote in the House to approve a resolution of contempt.

The House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform held a hearing on Tuesday as part of its investigation into Hillary Clinton’s use of a private email server. The Committee issued a subpoena to several witnesses, including former top Clinton aide Bryan Pagliano, compelling the appearance of those individuals on Capitol Hill.
Pagliano ignored the subpoena and failed to appear before the Committee. Chairman Jason Chaffetz briefly addressed Pagliano’s absence during the hearing on Tuesday, saying there would be consequences for former Clinton aides failure to appear.
After a witness ignores a subpoena and fails to appear, the committee rules generally require a majority vote of the full committee authorizing a resolution of noncompliance to be reported to the entire House of Representatives. After the matter is reported to the full House, a floor vote is taken to determine whether a resolution of contempt may be issued against the offending individual. It takes a majority vote in the House to approve a resolution of contempt.
