Paranasal sinuses are a group of four paired air-filled spaces that surround the nasal cavity. The maxillary sinuses are located under the eyes; the frontal sinuses are above the eyes; the ethmoidal sinuses are between the eyes and the sphenoidal sinuses are behind the eyes. The sinuses are named for the facial bones in which they are located.
Humans possess four paired paranasal sinuses, divided into subgroups that are named according to the bones within which the sinuses lie:
The paranasal air sinuses are lined with respiratory epithelium (ciliated pseudostratified columnar epithelium).
The paranasal sinuses form a cavernous system in our skull, around the nose. You differentiate between maxillary sinus, frontal sinus, sphenoid sinus and the ethmoidal cells. Often the Latin term is used (sinus maxillaris, sinus ethmoidalis, sinus sphenoidalis, sinus frontalis). Sinus means "cave". The paranasal sinuses, the maxillary sinus to be exact, is located close beside the teeth and thus dental diseases can spread to the maxillary sinus and then to the residual sinuses. This is called a Sinusitis. Furthermore, maxillary sinusitis might lead to increased dental sensitivity. To give you an example, persons suffering from allergy often complain about sensitive teeth at the beginning of the pollination. The sense to see and I saw you walk away
The sense to feel and I feel lonely everyday
The sense to hear for I heard you say goodbye
The sense to taste now I can taste the tears that I cry
My senses tell me all that I need to know
It's over but I don't have the sense to let you go
It doesn't make much sense for me to cry for you
And if I had any sense at all I'd realize we're through
But my senses are reacting much too slow
And it's over but I don't have the sense to let you go
