Into the Woods is a musical with music and lyrics by Stephen Sondheim and book by James Lapine. The musical intertwines the plots of several Brothers Grimm and Charles Perrault fairy tales, exploring the consequences of the characters' wishes and quests. The main characters are taken from "Little Red Riding Hood", "Jack and the Beanstalk", "Rapunzel", and "Cinderella", as well as several others. The musical is tied together by an original story involving a childless baker and his wife and their quest to begin a family, their interaction with a witch who has placed a curse on them, and their interaction with other storybook characters during their journey.
The musical debuted in San Diego at the Old Globe Theatre in 1986 and premiered on Broadway on November 5, 1987, where it won several Tony Awards, including Best Score, Best Book, and Best Actress in a Musical (Joanna Gleason), in a year dominated by The Phantom of the Opera (1988). The musical has since been produced many times, with a 1988 US national tour, a 1990 West End production, a 1997 tenth anniversary concert, a 2002 Broadway revival, a 2010 London revival and in 2012 as part of New York City's outdoor Shakespeare in the Park series.
Starry Nights is Shobha De's second novel. It is said that the novels' characters, Aasha Rani and her lover Akshay, were based on the real life love-affairs of Amitabh Bachchan with Rekha Ganesan and Dharmendra Singh Deol with Hema Malini. It was a best seller in India and cemented its authors reputation as being a provocative and daring author.
The protagonist of the book is Aasha Rani, a dark, chubby girl from Madras who has striven for seven years to become a famous Bollywood starlet. Her mother, Amma, has pushed her to attain this status by selling herself into the world of blue films before she was twelve years old, and when she was fifteen to Kishenbhai, a once-famous producer who was encouraged by Amma to take her as a lover in exchange for a film role. Kishenbhai, unable to secure a role for her any other way, finances a film with his own money after promoting her as the newest Bollywood starlet and having her sleep with the appropriate people to secure her attention and renaming her from Viji to Aasha Rani. He then proceeds to fall madly in love with her, who abandons him as she strives to get ahead in the filmi world, fully aware that she was just being used by him at first and is thus unable to return the affection of the older man.

While the audience is waiting for some actor they ever heard of to show up besides Jim Davis, Taztay attacks the wagon train but is driven off. Jim follows and encounters Mexican-army Lieutenant Ruiz and they duel sword (Ruiz) against firearm (Stockton) and Stockton wins while setting up the line in "The Enforcers" about a dummy who brings a knife to a gun fight. Good loser Ruiz tells Stockton about the war. The wagon train arrives at Monterey as General Torena's forces attack the garrison. Outnumbered, Commander Kimball agrees to let Stockton dynamite the fort rather than allow it to fall to the Mexicans. Turns out to be a good plan as the loud explosions demoralize the Mexican army troops and they scatter hasta la vista. Jim rewards himself for a job well done by marrying wagon train passenger Consuela.

All I am is the bones you made for me
So garishly clean
White as the horses, they carry me away
And all my demons, you said, come and go with a haze
I might as well took a
I'll grow old in my way.
Just like you do.
Oh there ain't no diamonds in the boredom
Oh there ain't no darkness that I fear
Oh there ain't no way to say I love you more
So be clear, just to be clear
So be clear, be clear.
All I am is the bones you made for me
Just driftwood for the sea
Heavy as the horses, that carry me away.
That carry me away.
Oh there ain't no diamonds in the boredom
Oh there ain't no darkness that I fear
Oh there ain't no way to say I love you more
So be clear, be clear
Oh there ain't no diamonds in the boredom
Oh oh oh ain't no darkness that I fear
Oh oh oh ain't no way to say I love you more
So be clear, just to be clear
So be clear, be clear.
Oh there ain't no diamonds in the boredom
No there ain't no darkness that I fear
Oh there ain't no way to say I love you more
