A British man who lived as a goat for three days is among the winners of this year's Ig Nobel prizes for scientific research. Thomas Thwaites designed prosthetic limbs that allowed him to walk on all fours and graze with goats on a farm in the Alps. He published his research in a book entitled GoatMan. Thomas Thwaites had special prosthetic limbs made to enable him to walk like a goat, in order to mingle with a herd in Bannalp, Switzerland. Mr Thwaites shared the biology prize with another British author, Charles Foster, who also spent time living as a variety of animals. His work, Being A Beast, saw him take on the perspective of a badger, an otter, a fox, a red deer and a swift.

Read your free e-book: http://copydl.space/mebk/50/en/B007NMBTQW/book In this book, Jay Nordlinger gives a history of what the subtitle calls the most famous and controversial prize in the world. The Nobel Peace Prize, like the other Nobel prizes, began in 1901. So we have a neat, sweeping history of the 20th century, and about a decade beyond. The Nobel prize involves a first world war, a second world war, a cold war, a terror war, and more. It contends with many of the key issues of modern times, and of life itself.it also presents a parade of interesting peoplemore than a hundred laureates, not a dullard in the bunch.
