Armchair punters around Australia spent hours leading up to the AFL Grand Final bleating on about how he or she was going to get a payout of a lifetime through one of their "mysterious bets".
But one Sportsbet punter upstaged part-time gamblers everywhere after two of his $10 multi-bets saw him pocket a whopping $50,000.
The footy-keen punter's first bet was for Luke Parker to be the first goal scorer, Tom Boyd to bag 3 or more majors and the Bulldogs to win by 1-39 - delivering him a $25,010 payout.
His first bet almost seems easy, once you analyse his second wager, which reads like E=mc2.
The bet involved Boyd to kick 3 or more goals, the Bulldogs to win by 1-39, the Bulldogs to lead at quarter-time, the Swans to lead at the half, the Bulldogs to lead at three-quarter time and finally the first half to be the highest scoring half. Again he pocketed $25,010.
"Clearly this Sportsbet punter gazed into some sort of magical crystal ball ahead of yesterday's AFL Grand Final, pulling off not one, but two unthinkable $10 multis for a total earn of $50,000," said sportsbet.com.au's Ben Bulmer.
"We tip our hat to this punter on a great win and the Western Bulldogs on winning their second AFL Premiership."
The winning punter screen shot his two winnings - complete with a crack down the middle of his phone - to the glee of commentators across the country on Facebook.
The post has been shared more than 1000 times and got close to 600 comments.
One Facebook-user cleverly suggested the person should now have enough money to get his screen fixed.
While the punter who put $20 to win $50,000 is still celebrating, one gambler is probably rocking back and forth in their chair after putting $375,000 on the Swans to win the GF on the eve of the big dance.
One savvy punter put $150 on the Doggies to win the grand final prior to the finals, when the club was paying $67.
At the other end of the scale, without doubt the oddest bet was someone actually wagered one cent on the Doggies at $13 to win the flag, which saw the punter pocket 13 cents.
According to Sportsbet, only eight per cent of punters backed Western Bulldogs to win the grand final, with the majority of those bets coming in the past two weeks.
