This is a statement by Nisreen Azzeh, Hashem Azzeh´s widow upon the first anniversary of his death. The occupation killed him:
“It’s been one year my love since you left us. You were a husband, father , brother, the family and everything in my life. You were an idol to your and our kids, you were a symbol of strength and stood strong against the settlers. You were the voice of justice that calls for freedom and independence, for the boycott of the occupation and its products (…)! You had an impact on our life ! And after you were gone, we missed your smile and the resistance. We miss you, the olive trees miss you. I pray to Allah to honor you in paradise. May god bless you and we promise to continue on your path and your struggle against occupation and settlers.
