The Chenab River is a major river of India and Pakistan. It forms in the upper Himalayas in the Lahaul and Spiti district of Himachal Pradesh, India, and flows through the Jammu region of Jammu and Kashmir into the plains of the Punjab, Pakistan. The waters of the Chenab are allocated to Pakistan under the terms of the Indus Waters Treaty.
The river was known to Indians in the Vedic period as Chandrabhaga (Sanskrit: चंद्रभाग), also Ashkini (Sanskrit: अश्किनि) or Iskmati (Sanskrit: इस्कामति) and as Acesines to the Ancient Greeks. In 325 BC, Alexander the Great allegedly founded the town of Alexandria on the Indus (present day Uch Sharif or Mithankot or Chacharan in Pakistan) at the confluence of the Indus and the combined stream of Punjab rivers (currently known as the Panjnad River).

Wild Frontiers' Jonny Bealby presents the highlights of the Kashmir and Himalayas region of India in this guide to northern India. Comprising a region north of the Ganges flood plains, to the east of Nepal, over the foothills and high mountain passes all the way to the former Buddhist kingdom of Ladakh and the fabled earthly paradise Kashmir, the Himalayas represents the least populated and arguably most beautiful region of all India. So, what are the main highlights? Well, heading out of Delhi the first place you'll probably come to is Shilma, former summer capital to the British Raj echoing the history of that era, before moving on to Dharamsala, the home of the Dalai Lama and the Tibetans in Exile. Close to here there are some wonderful walking trips to do staying with local villages...

Like Us On Facebook:https://www.facebook.com/HimachalParadiseOnEarthLandOfGods The Beas river is one of India's roughest rivers. Villagers in local towns accidentally slip into the river quite often, never making it back up due to the rough waters, rocks, and undertows. According to ancient texts, the river was named after sage Vasistha. Vasistha, tried to end his life due to the death of his 100 sons, by jumping into this river and tying himself. But as soon as the sage fell into the river, all the knots got untied, and he did not die. The river is also referred to as Vipasha in Himachal, especially by the scholars. It is said that Beas is a misnomer for Vayasa (exchange of B with V and always truncation of the last vowel is common in North Indian languages) and is named after Veda Vyasa, ...

Oh, in her two pound coat
She really thinks she's cloaked in mystery
She's actin' like some character from Agatha Christie
I got a pain in my shoes and all I wanna do is dance
Uh-oh, I can remember those carefully sharpened
eyeballs
Sparkling like bloodshot diamonds in the snowfall
She always said she thinks she knows where things are
roughly at
Well maybe she does, but then she says
Does it feel nice, does it feel right, does it feel
alright
Does it feel good - quite nice
Can you keep it up, can you keep it up - upright
Does it let you down, I heard it let you down -
sometimes
Snap me in your breach, I want to be your bullet
I want a little kiss that's gonna take my breath away
And every lover tries to do things in a different way
Ah-hey-hey-hey
Does it feel nice, does it feel right, does it feel
alright
Does it feel good - quite nice
Can you keep it up, can you keep it up - upright
Does it let you down - I heard it let you down -
sometimes
Snap me in your breach, I want to be your bullet
I want a little kiss that's gonna take my breath away
And every lover tries to do things in a different way
But that's what they all say
Give it up, give it up - give it up, give it up
Does it feel nice, does it feel right, does it feel
alright
Does it feel good - quite nice
Can you keep it up, can you keep it up - upright
But does it let you down, I heard it let you down -
sometimes
Does it feel nice - Is it alright, I heard it let you
down - sometimes
Can you keep it up - quite nice, I heard it's quite
nice - alright
Is it alright - quite nice, I heard it let you down...
Give it up - can you keep it up - Sometimes - I heard
it let you down
Alright - Can you keep it up - All night - I heard it
let you down
Quite nice - Can you keep it up - I heard it let you
down
Can you keep it up - I heard it let you down
