In 2014, drug treatment assistance website Rehabs.com put together a graphic, stunning compilation of photos that captured the physical regression of chronic drug abusers through their head shots. This rather pointed effort, which gathered the mug shots of those arrested multiple times for drug- and/or drug-related offenses, served to highlight the potentially catastrophic health effects of drug abuse in a raw, visceral and impactful manner. Physical changes seen through these images include skin lesions, decayed or missing teeth, open sores and premature aging, among other noticeable symptoms. It is important to note that not all of the deterioration and facial change seen within these people is necessarily the cause of drug use, but illicit substances have surely assumed at least some responsibility for the visible toll taken on these 10 individuals.
The Rehabs.com webpage aimed to serve as a source of education and inspiration, not only for those who came upon it but also for the addicts featured on the site. Lest anyone feel that the images are being used to shame, embarrass or exploit those in need of help, the website includes a disclaimer that not only invites users to request the removal of their photo, but also offers financial assistance for those seeking treatment. It also acknowledges that the images shown represent only the most extreme cases of drug abuse, but makes sure to mention that those featured in the images likely never anticipated such a slippery slope towards extreme addiction.
The statistics on drug abuse are pretty stunning. In 2013, over 24 million people reported that they had taken illicit drugs or abused prescription medication in just the past month alone. One year earlier, more than 1.7 million people had been admitted into treatment programs for substance abuse. While certainly representing a staggering number, that doesn’t address the vast majority of drug users in need of help. And although statistics can be impactful in their own right, the personal cost of drug abuse is probably best represented in the faces of those most affected by it.
Different drugs carry their own common side effects. Meth is known to cause facial wasting and open sores, cocaine can be an appetite suppressant and lead to weight loss, ecstasy often causes teeth grinding and even marijuana can age and pale the skin over time with excessive use. But even more than the symptoms of any one drug, the most damaging impact of substance abuse might be the mental side of the addiction, where recreating that high becomes a driving force in the addict’s life and leads to self-neglect. But when she was found dead in a hotel bathtub, the truth was revealed. Cocaine was found in her system, and drug paraphernalia was strewn across her hotel room. Sadly for fans of the singer, her life and career is still tarnished by her drug use and untimely death.
Heath Ledger also had an unsuccessful rehab stint prior to his death. The actor wanted to kick his drug habit prior to filming The Dark Knight, but his attempt was unsuccessful. Heroin

It is important to note that not all of the deterioration and facial change seen within these people is necessarily the cause of drug use, but illicit substances have surely assumed at least some responsibility for the visible toll taken on these 10 individuals.
The Rehabs.com webpage aimed to serve as a source of education and inspiration, not only for those who came upon it but also for the addicts featured on the site. Lest anyone feel that the images are being used to shame, embarrass or exploit those in need of help, the website includes a disclaimer that not only invites users to request the removal of their photo, but also offers financial assistance for those seeking treatment. It also acknowledges that the images shown represent only the most extreme cases of drug abuse, but makes sure to mention that those featured in the images likely never anticipated such a slippery slope towards extreme addiction.
The statistics on drug abuse are pretty stunning. In 2013, over 24 million people reported that they had taken illicit drugs or abused prescription medication in just the past month alone. One year earlier, more than 1.7 million people had been admitted into treatment programs for substance abuse. While certainly representing a staggering number, that doesn’t address the vast majority of drug users in need of help. And although statistics can be impactful in their own right, the personal cost of drug abuse is probably best represented in the faces of those most affected by it.
Different drugs carry their own common side effects. Meth is known to cause facial wasting and open sores, cocaine can be an appetite suppressant and lead to weight loss, ecstasy often causes teeth grinding and even marijuana can age and pale the skin over time with excessive use. But even more than the symptoms of any one drug, the most damaging impact of substance abuse might be the mental side of the addiction, where recreating that high becomes a driving force in the addict’s life and leads to self-neglect. These 10 addicts wear the heavy cost of their drug abuse on their faces, plain for anyone to see.

It also acknowledges that the images shown represent only the most extreme cases of drug abuse, but makes sure to mention that those featured in the images likely never anticipated such a slippery slope towards extreme addiction.
The statistics on drug abuse are pretty stunning. In 2013, over 24 million people reported that they had taken illicit drugs or abused prescription medication in just the past month alone. One year earlier, more than 1.7 million people had been admitted into treatment programs for substance abuse. While certainly representing a staggering number, that doesn’t address the vast majority of drug users in need of help. And although statistics can be impactful in their own right, the personal cost of drug abuse is probably best represented in the faces of those most affected by it.
Different drugs carry their own common side effects. Meth is known to cause facial wasting and open sores, cocaine can be an appetite suppressant and lead to weight loss, ecstasy often causes teeth grinding and even marijuana can age and pale the skin over time with excessive use. But even more than the symptoms of any one drug, the most damaging impact of substance abuse might be the mental side of the addiction, where recreating that high becomes a driving force in the addict’s life and leads to self-neglect. The singer was never able to kick her habit, and her unusual and drugged-out appearance was the main topic in gossip magazines. During an interview with Diane Sawyer, Whitney admitted drugs were an issue for her in the past, but she had moved on from her addiction. But when she was found dead in a hotel bathtub, the truth was revealed. Cocaine was found in her system, and drug paraphernalia was strewn across her hotel room. Sadly for fans of the singer, her life and career is still tarnished by her drug use and untimely death.
Heath Ledger also had an unsuccessful rehab stint prior to his death. The actor wanted to kick his drug habit prior to filming The Dark Knight, but his attempt was unsuccessful. He was found dead in his Manhattan apartment, and the coroner found a lethal mix of oxycodone, hydrocodone, diazepam, temazepam, alprazolam and doxylamine in his system. Fans were shocked to hear that drugs were the cause of his death.

NBA player Lamar Odom was found unconscious in a Nevada brothel back in October 2015, but medical personnel were able to bring him back to life. He was sent to a Los Angeles hospital where he underwent therapy to help restore his memory and to help him kick his habit. But Lamar’s addiction has other plans for him. It has since been reported that he is back on crack, and his ex-wife, Khloe Kardashian, has left him once and for all.

This is aspiring model Priscilla Caputo .It turns out her boyfriend was a plastic surgeon and performed the surgeries on her. She admitted that she “created a monster” and destroyed her natural beauty by going too far with plastic surgery. she says she cries when she see pictures of herself.
She hopes that her pictures serve as a warning to other women. You have been warned.

Ok I’m all for big breasts but have some sense of balance. I feel like you could rub those on your head and get some serious static hair action. Even the guy who’s taking a photo with her looks concerned. I once was at a nightclub and there was a girl with breasts like these dancing on a platform behind me and who innocently bounced them off my head.. it felt like being gently hit with two basketballs.

This is Farrah Abraham from the Teen Mom TV show. She had a procedure done on her lips which had some complications.. She actually posted these pictures of herself on twitter. Apparently this is a lip implant which supposed to help avoid having to repeatedly get collagen injections. At least she has a good sense of humor about it. I was going to say she looks like Leela from Futurama but she beat me to it already comparing herself to the cartoon character.
Kristina Rei (puffy lips)
This is a Russian woman Kristina Rei. Growing up she felt her lips were too thin and she claims was made fun of for her looks. she also felt like jessica rabbit was the ideal shaped woman. This is her before shot and you can see she was a pretty girl. I can see that her upper lip was a little thin and maybe a small enhancement might have helped her appearance.. but Having 100 silicone injections she’s taken her lips to infinity and beyond. As you can see it looks like she’s left the jessica rabbit theme far behind.. Following the usual path of people who have excessive plastic surgery she’s still not satisfied. There is a deep wisdom in this video guys, as you’re sitting watching this, work on being grateful for where you are right here and right now!

The pictures were posted to Reddit by DisregardThisOrDont who explained that she had been jailed for 36 days on a contempt charge.
In a post, she wrote: ‘Without delving too deep I’ll just say that I was in a really abusive relationship that led to my daughter going to live with my mother.
‘She is my whole world, so when that happened I fell into a deep depression and leaned to my abusive boyfriend for emotional support.
‘His answer to making me feel better was heroin. After eight months of daily use and a few half assed attempts at getting clean, I told the judge preceding over the guardianship case of my daughter that I had been using and that I needed help.’
The woman, who is not named in the post, said she was found in contempt of court and sent to jail, before going to rehab.
She described her struggle as an ‘uphill battle’ and said it now ‘feels like a bad dream’.
But looking at her mugshot recently, she realised there are other addicts out there who may not see a light at the end of the tunnel.
‘There are other addicts out there who are in the same circle of hell that I was in in that mug shot. So even if one of those people see this and get their sh*t together, then it was worth it,’ she added.

As the rate of opioid addiction has surged in the United States, Mexico has become the world's third-largest producer of opium used to process heroin. Mexican cartels are now the primary suppliers of the drug to the US, producing a crude and unrefined form known as black tar.
VICE News travels to the fertile mountains of western Mexico, where we see the beginning of the path black tar heroin takes to the US on plantations growing poppies used to make opium. We then head across the US border to witness the human cost there of the lucrative but destructive heroin trade.

As a bright schoolboy from a loving, middle-class family Ben Rogers was expected to make a success of his life. Raised in a quiet, picturesque village Ben was a Boy Scout, loved cricket, played in the school orchestra and looked forward to the annual family holiday. But despite his privileged start in life Ben found himself on the road to ruin, injecting heroin up to four times a day.
During his last months, Ben kept a video diary of his drug use and desperate attempts to come off heroin. Ravaged by the drug, Ben's body began to break down: he developed DVT and his veins were rendered so useless he had to inject into his groin. Despite his family's best efforts, Ben couldn't stop. He was haunted by, and hooked on, heroin.
Ben: Diary of A Heroin Addict charts his lies and manipulation as he mixes his next hit whilst telling his mother Anne he is clean and making a new start. It reveals Anne's anger and tears as Ben loses his fight against the drugs and shows how father Mike's unconditional love continues undiminished as they are forced to deal with their son's addiction.
Director Olly Lambert comments: "It's incredibly rare to come across such raw and unflinching footage of a man so close to an abyss. I was speechless when I first watched it. I hope the film finishes what Ben had begun: to give people a visceral understanding of the nature of addiction. It has been a privilege to try and unpick who Ben really was using the intimate legacy he's left behind."
