French provincial home stuns with elevator, theatre room and five-star luxury

EUROPEAN design and traditional Asian building systems combine to deliver serious modern luxury at this new Monash stunner.

The french provincial home at 20 Landridge St, Glen Waverley, draws on feng shui and vastu shastra principles to present buyers with unrivalled comfort.

The chic property is expected to attract more than $3.3 million and has an extensive list of features to rival Melbourne’s elite homes, including an elevator, theatre room and upstairs kitchenette.

Extra-wide hallways greet visitors on entry and upstairs, creating an inviting atmosphere that flows throughout the home.

Designer Nisha Bajaj, of The Splendor Homes, said it was vital for the ambience to be warm and comfortable.

“I focus on where we can get most light,” she said.

“I believe it’s a proven science that natural light when it comes into the home expels negativity.”

Each of the six bedrooms has its own ensuite, including the main bedroom which has a freestanding spa, and each is designed to have a feeling different to the next.

High ceilings, chandeliers and wrought-iron balustrades are elegant features.

Bronze mirrored surfaces and custom vanities with water jewel basins and quantum quartz benchtops are rare touches.

Alongside all the glamour, practicality and accessibility are key factors in the home’s opulent design.

Ms Bajaj said the elevator and kitchenette upstairs ensured the home remained liveable regardless of age.

Zoned heating and cooling on both levels maintains comfort and minimises energy use.

A low-maintenance garden and rear deck with a barbecue kitchen delight outside.

Agent Julie Waileng Karl, of Harcourts Judd White, said the attention to detail left her in awe.

“I don’t know what else to say, I’m in love with it,” she said.

Harcourts Judd White are taking expressions of interest of more than $3.3 million for the property.

Ms Bajaj and Ms Waileng Karl plan to donate a percentage of their income from the sale to the White Ribbon charity, Australia’s campaign to stop violence against women.
