One dead, another in serious condition after central Queensland crashes

A motorbike rider has died and a pedestrian is in a serious condition after a horror nine-hour period on central Queensland roads.
On Saturday morning, a motorcyclist was killed in Hay Point, 30 kilometres south of Mackay.
Police said about 5.30am a car was travelling north on Hay Point Road when it lost control and veered onto the wrong side of the road, hitting a motorbike.
The rider, a 42-year-old man, was taken to Mackay Base Hospital, but died a short time later.
The driver of the other vehicle suffered minor injuries.
While on Friday evening at 8.30pm, a man and woman crossed Walker Street in Bundaberg before the man stepped back into the road and was hit by a ute.
The pedestrian, a 39-year-old from Bundaberg West, sustained injuries to his arm and head and after surgery in Brisbane is in a serious but stable condition.
The female pedestrian was treated for shock and the ute driver was not injured.
Walker Street was closed for several hours, but re-opened shortly before midnight.
The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating both incidents.
