.th is the Internet country code top-level domain (ccTLD) for Thailand.

It is administered by T.H.NIC Co., Ltd. (THNIC), the corporate entity of Thai Network Information Center Foundation.

Registration

Registration of a .co.th domain name is a complicated procedure, for this reason most Thailand websites prefer to use a .com name. In order to register a .co.th domain name the registrar in Thailand requires copies of company documents in the same name as the required domain name, so for example if you required acme.co.th you would need to have a registered company called Acme Co., Ltd.

A company can only register a single .co.th domain with the company name or initial name of company, and/or one .co.th domain name per trademark.

Second top domain

In 2010 a new top domain was registered and introduced for Thailand, intended for domain names in the local language. This top domain is .ไทย. As of 2011, thousands of sites with this domain are active.

Θ (set theory)

In set theory, Θ (pronounced like the letter theta) is the least nonzero ordinal α such that there is no surjection from the reals onto α.

If the axiom of choice (AC) holds (or even if the reals can be wellordered) then Θ is simply , the cardinal successor of the cardinality of the continuum. However, Θ is often studied in contexts where the axiom of choice fails, such as models of the axiom of determinacy.

Θ is also the supremum of the lengths of all prewellorderings of the reals.

Proof of existence

It may not be obvious that it can be proven, without using AC, that there even exists a nonzero ordinal onto which there is no surjection from the reals (if there is such an ordinal, then there must be a least one because the ordinals are wellordered). However, suppose there were no such ordinal. Then to every ordinal α we could associate the set of all prewellorderings of the reals having length α. This would give an injection from the class of all ordinals into the set of all sets of orderings on the reals (which can to be seen to be a set via repeated application of the powerset axiom). Now the axiom of replacement shows that the class of all ordinals is in fact a set. But that is impossible, by the Burali-Forti paradox.

Thank God for Mississippi

"Thank God for Mississippi" is a common adage in the United States, particularly in the South, that is generally used when discussing rankings of U.S. states. Since the state of Mississippi generally ranks near or (stereotypically) at the bottom of such rankings, residents of other states ranking near the bottom frequently proclaim, "Thank God for Mississippi", since the presence of that state in 50th place spares them of the shame of finishing in last place. Examples include rankings of educational achievement, overall health, the poverty rate, life expectancy or other objective criteria of the quality of life or government in the fifty states. The phrase is in use even among state government officials and journalists, though occasionally with a slight twist. Mississippi's poor reputation is such a common trope in American culture that when Mississippi does indeed rank well in something, the phrase "Thank God for Mississippi" may get brought up just to discuss how it does not apply in the given circumstance.
