Patrice Bergeron-Cleary (born July 24, 1985) is a Canadian professional ice hockey centre and alternate captain playing for the Boston Bruins of the National Hockey League (NHL).
He played junior hockey with the Acadie–Bathurst Titan of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League (QMJHL) for one full season before being selected 45th overall by the Bruins in the 2003 NHL Entry Draft. He made the immediate jump from junior to the NHL after his draft and joined the Bruins in 2003–04. Internationally, Bergeron competes for Team Canada and has won gold medals at the 2004 World Championships, 2005 World Junior Championships, 2010 Winter Olympics, and 2014 Winter Olympics. Bergeron is a member of the Triple Gold Club after winning the Stanley Cup with Boston on June 15, 2011. Bergeron scored two goals including the Stanley Cup winning goal at 14:37 of the first period of Game 7 at Vancouver. From his superb two-way playing abilities, he has earned three recent wins of the Selke Trophy awarded annually to the NHL forward with the best defensive skills. Bergeron is considered to be one of the premier two-way forwards in the game today.
Tuukka Mikael Rask (born March 10, 1987) is a Finnish professional ice hockey goaltender currently playing for the Boston Bruins of the National Hockey League (NHL). Rask was drafted 21st overall in the 2005 NHL Entry Draft by the Toronto Maple Leafs. On June 24, 2006, his rights were traded to the Bruins in exchange for goaltender Andrew Raycroft. He is the older brother of Joonas Rask, who plays professionally as a forward with HIFK in the Finnish Liiga. In 2015, a recently discovered species of wasp in Kenya was named Thaumatodryinus tuukkaraski in direct reference to the Bruins goaltender. The reasoning given by the authors was that "[t]his species is named after the acrobatic goaltender for the Finnish National ice hockey team and the Boston Bruins, whose glove hand is as tenacious as the raptorial fore tarsus of this dryinid species”.
Rask started his career in the youth teams of his hometown club SaPKo in Savonlinna, Finland.
He then played in 28 games for the Tampere-based Ilves Jr. in the Finnish Junior League. His goals against average (GAA) was 1.86 with two shutouts and a .935 save percentage. He was the top ranked European goaltender in the 2005 NHL Entry Draft.
