The 2016 ESPY Awards took place at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles tonight and the show looked to strike an inspiring tone in year that’s been marked by tragedy. The same could be said of Chance the Rapper’s show-closing performance, with the Chicago MC debuting a new song in tribute of the recently departed boxing icon Muhammad Ali.

After an introduction by Ali’s close friend Kareem Abdul Jabbar, Chance took the stage along with Social Experiemt bandmates Donnie Trumpet, Jamila Woods, Peter Cottontale, and Teddy Jackson for the moving new song. Featuring a powerful chorus of “I was a rock n’ roller back in my day/ now I’m just a rock,” the untitled song was reverent and uplifting, a fitting honor for not just one of the greatest athletes but one of the most transcendent figures in sports history. Watch the song below.

Before the show, Chance took the opportunity to share his cool with one of the biggest stars of the modern era, Golden State Warriors star Steph Curry.
