Watch Weird Al's Hilarious Outtakes From Lonely Island's 'Popstar'

Parody master plays clueless singer in Blu-Ray scenes, introducing Conner4Real (Andy Samberg) at Poppies award show

"Weird Al" Yankovic plays a clueless singer in the hilarious Blu-Ray outtakes from the Lonely Island's 'Popstar' movie

"Weird Al" Yankovic made a brief, scene-stealing cameo in the final moments of the Lonely Island's recent film Popstar: Never Stop Never Stopping. Yankovic played the spiky-haired lead singer of Hammerleg, who introduces Andy Samberg's character, Conner4Real, at the Poppies Awards. In the movie's Blu-Ray/DVD outtakes, available to sample via Yahoo, viewers get more of Yankovic's hilarious walk-on.

The parody master delivered several readings for the scene, which directors Akiva Schaffer and Jorma Taccone included in the special features. The clip finds Yankovic in prime comedic form. "People told us we should change our name, it sounds too much like Hammerfoot," he says in the first bit. "But where's Hammerfoot today, huh? Not here at the Poppies!"

In another selection, he riffs on the fake band's unfortunate album title. "Our new album drops Tuesday," he says. "The name of the album is Our New Album Drops Wednesday. OK? But it drops on Tuesday, not Wednesday, so … I hope I've cleared that up."

The video closes with Yankovic's most absurd rant. "I know it may not be a trendy issue, but cutting your hair at home can save you thousands of dollars over the course of your lifetime," he says. "That's something Big Haircut doesn't want you to know about!"

"Weird Al" – who recently took over as co-host/bandleader of Scott Aukerman's IFC show Comedy Bang! Bang! – is currently touring behind 2014's Grammy-winning Mandatory Fun. He performs Thursday, August 18th in Thunder Bay, Ontario and September 24th at New York City's Radio City Music Hall.
