NEWLY-crowned Brownlow medallist Patrick Dangerfield was the man of the moment at the Cats’ end-of-season celebrations before he even arrived.
A besuited Daniel Menzel and Cam Delaney arrived toting surfboards in a spin-off of Dangerfield’s famed Fox Sports promo at Geelong’s Wacky Wednesday celebrations.
He wasn’t the only player to be taken the mickey of, with Mark Blicavs and Cameron Guthrie arriving as “captain” and “pilot” Joel Selwood in a spoof of their skipper’s Geelong Travel ads.
After making a grand entrance with Jake King in 2014, Joel Selwood changed it up by lying in wait for media inside The Lord of the Isles pub.
Astride a fibreglass horse, the skipper, dressed as Melbourne Cup jockey Michelle Payne, held court from the giant creature.

He didn’t leave the prop, conducting media interviews from it and “riding” it to the cheers of his teammates.
But the most scripted arrival was a team effort, as Dangerfield and Scott Selwood suited up as Osher Gunsberg and Bachelor Richie Strahan.
The duo arrived in a limousine, complete with red carpet and presented their dates with roses in front of the waiting media pack before heading inside.
Geelong players let their hair down and dressed up at their annual post-season celebrations at the Lord of the Isles, just a couple of hundred metres from their home base at Simonds Stadium.
