A driver has died after a cement truck and car collided in central Queensland.
The Bruce Highway was closed and expected to remain that way for hours at the tiny town of Benaraby, near Gladstone, after the crash about 5.50am.
Police said it appeared one of the vehicles veered onto the wrong side of the road but couldn't say which one.
Paramedics treated the truck driver for shock but were not able to save the car driver, who was trapped in the vehicle.
Diversions were in place via Gladstone-Benaraby Road and the Dawson Highway.
The Forensic Crash Unit was called to investigate.
