The BNSF Railway (reporting mark BNSF) is one of the largest freight railroad networks in North America, second to the Union Pacific Railroad (UP) (its primary competitor for Western U.S. freight), and is one of seven North American Class I railroads. It has 48,000 employees, 32,500 miles (52,300 km) of track in 28 states, and over 8,000 locomotives. It has three transcontinental routes that provide high-speed links between the western and eastern United States. BNSF trains traveled over 169 million miles in 2010, more than any other North American railroad. The BNSF and UP have a duopoly on all transcontinental freight rail lines in the Western U.S. and shares trackage rights over thousands of miles of track.
According to corporate press releases, the BNSF Railway is among the top transporters of intermodal freight in North America. It also hauls bulk cargo. For instance, the railroad hauls enough coal to generate roughly ten percent of the electricity produced in the United States.

BNSF Railway conductor Kyle Schaefer shows you his job duties and says working at the railroad is his "childhood dream job." For more information about career opportunities at BNSF, please visit www.bnsf.com/careers.
BNSF employees recently installed a rare track component to address a bottleneck on the network in Vancouver, Wash. When one set of railroad tracks crosses over another, the point at which they intersect is known as a crossover or a “diamond,” in reference to the diamond-shaped center. Track speeds are often reduced through a crossover or diamond to ensure safety. BNSF trains operating through a crossover at the Columbia River Bridge between the Fallbridge and Seattle subdivisions used to be limited to no more than 10 mph. However, the recent installation of a rare “movable-point diamond” has allowed for higher efficiency through this stretch of track near the Amtrak Station in Vancouver. “We can now get trains in and out of Vancouver faster, which makes the terminal more efficient,” sa...
(6/19/16) On a cloudy Firday, I railfanned Vancouver from 8am-2pm and seen a lot of great action, including Grain trains, Manifests, Intermodals/Stacks, Autorack, and Amtrak Cascades. A few cool stuff I seen were a CSX AC44CW (foreign power is always a treat) on a BNSF Autorack, BN Caboose on a local, CREX GEVO on a Grainer, and newly repainted "swoosh" logo BNSF dash 9 on a Manifest. I was a pretty busy day with UP and BNSF action! *Sorry for some parts of the video that have some shakiness.* Enjoy the video! Cuando menciono tu nombre
Tu bello rostro me observa
Lloro por tu perdón y es que
Imagino que me extrañas.
Y cada noche al dormir
Perfecta en mi mente es
Y todo lo que te diré
Explica porque me siento así.
Count the stars, steal the moon
I'd do this all just for you
Nothing's good enough.
I'm trying to love you
Just tell me what should I do
Nothing's good enough.
Caught in this soledad.
Si supieras cuanto me importas
Sentirte así, tocar tu piel
Pero no sabes la verdad
Te ciegas al amor real.
Qué mas te puedo dar no sé
Intento una y otra vez
Nunca dirás que me amas
El primer beso no olvidaré.
Count the stars, steal the moon
I'd do this all just for you
Nothing's good enough.
I'm trying to love you
Just tell me what should I do
Nothing's good enough.
From here 'til eternity I'm lost without your love
Watch the waves come rolling in and pray they bring you back
again.
Y déjame creer
Que tu me amas también
Y déjame soñar
Contigo hasta el final.
