Police are searching for two men who repeatedly harassed a 91-year-old man at his Maylands home, and bullied him into handing over large amounts of cash.
The pair, according to police, approached the elderly man at his home on several occasions between June 21 and 24, telling him his roof needed urgent repairs.
"One of the men offered to drive the victim to the bank to withdraw the money needed to pay for the repairs," a police spokeswoman said.
"The men drove the man to different banks during this period where he has withdrawn large amounts of cash."
On the last occasion when the victim returned to the bank to make a further withdrawal, the bank teller stopped him, causing the offender to drive off and leave the elderly man stranded.
Police are seeking the public's help to find the men, who were driving in a dark grey dual cab utility.
One is described as aged between 25 to 35 years old, fair skinned, medium build, clean shaven with short dark hair.
The second man is described as being aged between 45 to 55 years old, wearing a red T-shirt.
Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
