The how-to and what not to do with the actress and new ambassador for Ghd.

As the new face of Ghd, we took the opportunity to chat with newly announced brand ambassador Pia Miller on the trials and tribulations of thick hair, coconut oil and mastering the perfect blow dry.

Tell us about how your relationship with Ghd came together?
“Ghd have not had anyone as the Ambassador and face of the brand here in Australia before so to be the first, is really amazing. It was a collaboration that made sense as not only is it a global brand that everyone knows and recognises but I have personally used Ghd both at home and at work, since I can remember. It’s the staple product for all girls who have bad hair days like me!!"

Given that you're often in hair and make-up due to your career, how do you care for your hair and keep it healthy?
“When I find some time, I make sure I go into Wildlife Salon and get a good treatment to keep it strong. If my schedule is full or I’m hanging with the kids, I lather my hair in coconut oil and do a bit of a DIY treatment. I don’t colour my hair often and because all the products used on my hair for work and play are Ghd, the technology and innovation ensures that my hair is always kept in good condition. It’s important to invest in good quality products, especially if you are using them most days like me. But, I must say - nothing goes past a good healthy diet and some sun and salt water!”

What tips or tricks have you picked-up from sitting in the make-up chair?
“All the different artists have different ways of doing things and their own little secrets so I’ve learnt a lot over the years. The main beauty tip I’ve learnt is what colour eyeliner works best for my skin tone and eyes and how to apply it – very handy! With my hair, a lot! Almost everything I do to my hair nowadays has been at the advice from someone I’ve worked with. Most recently it was how to properly hold and manoeuvre the Ghd ceramic radial brush to get the best results.”

Is there any hair style or trick you haven't quite mastered but would like to?
“Yes! The salon style blow wave; I’ve always been in awe of the hair stylists when they nail it - they make it look so easy too. Sometimes I’ll try to get one on a Friday so that it lasts all weekend. It’s such a simple pleasure but I think most women will agree that gives you that little extra bit of confidence and sass wherever you are going.”
