Edmund Gerald "Jerry" Brown Jr. (born April 7, 1938) is an American politician and lawyer who has been serving as the 39th Governor of California since 2011. A member of the Democratic Party, Brown previously served as the 34th Governor from 1975 to 1983, and is the longest-serving governor in California history. Prior to and following his first governorship, Brown served in numerous state, local and party positions, including three times a candidate for the Democratic nomination for President of the United States.
As the only son of Edmund G. "Pat" Brown, Sr., the 32nd Governor of California (1959–1967), Jerry Brown himself began his political career as a member of the Los Angeles Community College District Board of Trustees (1969–1971) before serving as Secretary of State of California (1971–1975). Elected Governor in 1974 at age 36, Brown was the youngest California governor in 111 years. He ran for his party's nomination in the 1976 presidential election, finishing second in popular vote, and a distant third in the convention vote, which was won by Governor Jimmy Carter of Georgia. Brown was re-elected Governor in 1978 and ran against fellow Democrat and incumbent President Jimmy Carter in the 1980 primaries. While challengers to incumbent presidents seldom gain traction, the challenge by Senator Ted Kennedy of Massachusetts did, leaving Brown without any significant support.
Donald John Trump, Sr. (born June 14, 1946) is an American businessperson and media personality. He is the chairman and president of The Trump Organization and the founder of Trump Entertainment Resorts. Trump's career, branding efforts, personal life, wealth, and outspoken manner have made him famous throughout the country. Since 2015, he is also a candidate for the Republican nomination for President of the United States in the 2016 election.
Trump is a native of New York City and a son of Fred Trump, who inspired him to enter real estate development. After two years at Fordham University and while studying at Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, Trump worked for his father's firm, Elizabeth Trump & Son. Upon graduating in 1968 he joined the company, and in 1971 was given control, renaming the company "The Trump Organization". Since then he has built hotels, golf courses, and other properties, many of which bear his name. He is a major figure in the American business scene and has received prominent media exposure. The NBC reality show The Apprentice bolstered his fame, and his three marriages were extensively reported in tabloids.
William Jefferson Clinton (born William Jefferson Blythe III; August 19, 1946), generally known as Bill Clinton, is an American politician who served as the 42nd President of the United States from 1993 to 2001. He previously served as Governor of Arkansas from 1979 to 1981 and 1983 to 1992, and as the state's Attorney General from 1977 to 1979. A member of the Democratic Party, ideologically Clinton was a New Democrat, and many of his policies reflected a centrist Third Way philosophy of governance.
Clinton was born and raised in Arkansas, and is an alumnus of Georgetown University, where he was a member of Kappa Kappa Psi and Phi Beta Kappa and earned a Rhodes Scholarship to attend the University of Oxford. He is married to Hillary Clinton, who served as United States Secretary of State from 2009 to 2013 and who was a Senator from New York from 2001 to 2009. Both Clintons earned law degrees from Yale Law School, where they met and began dating. As Governor of Arkansas, Clinton overhauled the state's education system, and served as Chair of the National Governors Association.
Christopher James "Chris" Christie (born September 6, 1962) is an American politician who has been the 55th Governor of New Jersey since January 2010.
Born in Newark in 1962, Christie volunteered for the gubernatorial campaign of Republican Thomas Kean when he was fifteen years old. A 1984 graduate of the University of Delaware, Christie earned a J.D. at Seton Hall University School of Law. Christie joined a Cranford, New Jersey, law firm in 1987, became a partner in 1993, and continued practicing until 2002. He was elected county freeholder Morris County, serving from 1995 to 1998. By 2002, Christie had campaigned for Presidents George H. W. Bush and George W. Bush; the latter appointed him as United States Attorney for New Jersey, a position he held from 2002 to 2008.
In January 2009, Christie declared his candidacy for Governor of New Jersey. He won the Republican primary, and defeated incumbent Governor Jon Corzine in the election that November. In 2013, he won re-election as Governor, defeating Democrat Barbara Buono, and was sworn in to a second term on January 21, 2014. On November 21, 2013, Christie was elected Chairman of the Republican Governors Association.

2/13/09 Michael Savage takes on Former California Governer Jerry "moonbeam" Brown on the California Ballot Proposition 8, in an interview on the Savage Nation.
KQED's JOHN MYERS: One of the discussions we've been having in the last few weeks too is on the issue of action. The Supreme Court ruled on the Michigan case just a few days ago. You've spoken about affirmative action. California's had a very long discussion about it. On the case of the high court, did they get it wrong? MYERS: One of the discussions we've been having in the last few weeks too, is on the issue of affirmative action. The U.S. Supreme Court ruled in the Michigan case just a few days ago. You've spoken about affirmative action. California's had a very long discussion about it. On the case of the high court, and when the issue, did they get it wrong, I mean where does this go from here? California Gov. Jerry Brown said Friday if he were Vice President Joe Biden, he’d give “very serious consideration” to running for president — and suggested a Biden bid could spell trouble for frontrunner Hillary Clinton’s White House hopes. “All I can say is, if I were Hillary, I would say [to Biden], ‘Don’t jump in.’ If I were Joe Biden, I’d probably give it very serious consideration,” he said in an interview that aired Sunday on NBC’s “Meet the Press.” Brown’s comments come as Clinton has seen her lead in polls of the Democratic field shrink by nearly half since June, amid the continuing controversy surrounding her use of a private email account and server while serving as secretary of State.
BROWN: ... And by the way, Proposition 30 taxed in a significant degree to the tune of billions of dollars the most successful people who have incomes over 500 thousand dollars a year. So that does deal raise the minimum wage to ten dollars, much higher than the national. And taxing people 13 percent, and extra 3 percent on the highest incomes. They didn't end up doing that ... almost no other states. A few states may do it, a few cities. We're taking steps but we're in a competitive environment. But we're right next to Nevada. Nevada has zero income tax. At some point, people can move. So we have to balance in our corporate tax, in our income taxes, and all our regulatory burdens that are achieving social objectives that are desired. But we are just a piece of America and we gotta bring p...
