Gold Coast Titans NRL star Jarryd Hayne set to become a father with friend Amellia Bonnici
Gold Coast Titans NRL player Jarryd Hayne is set to become a father for the first time.
Titans chief executive Graham Annersley confirmed the news to News Limited, refusing to comment further on the matter.
Hayne is reportedly having a baby with 25-year-old Amellia Bonnici, a "close friend" he met through social media app Instagram.
The news, initially reported in New Idea magazine, claims the former Parramatta Eels, San Francisco 49ers and Fiji rugby sevens player is living with Bonnici in his Gold Coast apartment.

Hayne and Italian-born Bonnici met in Australia in February, while the former was still contracted to the NFL team.
Jarryd Hayne was named Twitter's No.1 number one rugby league player at the weekend, pipping Nathan Peats and Sam Burgess to the title.
