Fly fishing is an angling method in which an artificial "fly" is used to catch fish. The fly is cast using a fly rod, reel, and specialized weighted line. Casting a nearly weightless fly or "lure" requires casting techniques significantly different from other forms of casting. Fly fishermen use hand tied flies that resemble natural invertebrates, baitfish, other food organisms, or "lures" to provoke the fish to strike (bite at the fly).
Fly fishing can be done in fresh or salt water. North Americans usually distinguish freshwater fishing between cold-water species (trout, salmon, steelhead) and warm-water species, notably bass. In Britain, where natural water temperatures vary less, the distinction is between game fishing for trout and salmon versus coarse fishing for other species. Techniques for fly fishing differ with habitat (lakes and ponds, small streams, large rivers, bays and estuaries, and open ocean.)
Author Izaak Walton called fly fishing "The Contemplative Man's Recreation".

Download & Stream: http://smarturl.it/camelphatcola ‘Cola’ had barely touched the ground when tastemakers’ ears were pricking up across the board. Having become a byword for quality house music, remaining at the #1 Beatport spot for over a month with their last record, the name CamelPhat and the cult status of the mysterious duo behind it become realised to their fullest with this track. Combining lush, saturated beats with Elderbrook’s crystalline voice which elevates and equalises, ‘Cola’ is an exquisitely sophisticated firecracker. Already snapped up by Danny Howard as his Hottest Record on Radio 1 and championed by the likes of MK, Solomun and Sam Divine, the track demonstrates the full strength of CamelPhat’s unique style and takes them into the upper echelons of today’s finest prod...

Our annual Pre-Thanksgiving Fly Fishing trip to the Flat Brook River produced a few hits but no fish. Sometimes it takes getting skunked to realize its not always about the destination, its about the journey, the experience and spending time with family in the great outdoors. Telling people you fly fish in New Jersey usually results with strange looks and many pointed questions. The truth the the matter is, there is a good number of great fishing in the rivers, brooks, streams, lakes, ocean here. While it does tend to get over fished, it just makes the adventuring to a remote spot all the more alluring.

I dug this one up from the Dirks family archives...one for the ages. This was Josh's first fishing trip to a great Northwestern NJ trout stream called Big Flat Brook. A great river, full of fish (they stock it generously but it has lots of holdover fish) and lots of water to cover. Like any father, I always give too many instructions while video taping...we laugh about this video clip now but I even lose my cool at one point. Josh was probably 12 or 13 at the time and just coming into his own as a fly angler. Today, he's in college and out fishes me all the time, no matter where or what water we're fishing. :) www.dirksoutdoors.com

A fine spring morning by the side of the Big Flat Brook in Sussex County, NJ.
Filming and landing a fish by yourself is not easy so the clip is short. First fish was a good size brookie caught on a beadhead pheasant tail nymph. The brown took a small olive stripe zonker. The flies were fished dropper style with the beadhead leading. Brown was about 20 inches, brookie 14 inches. Both released

Looking for ideas on visiting Kinglake National Park? In this segment from the Tour the World travel TV series, we bring you a two-day Naturewise Eco Escape from Conservation Volunteers Australia in the beautiful Kinglake National Park - just an hour's drive from Melbourne. In February 2009, 98% of Kinglake National Park was burnt by the Black Sunday bushfires. This Naturewise trip provides a unique opportunity to contribute to the long term recovery and management of the national park. We join Parks Victoria staff to assist in surveying the numbers of the Superb Lyrebirds in the park - renowned for their attractive courtship displays and ability to mimic almost any sound in the forest. Adventures of Roger- Trout fishing in New Jersey April and May 2016 with his wife Andrea. This season was a tremendous fishing season where Roger caught two Tiger Trout, which were his first two ever. The size and quality of the fish were great! 5 pounds was the largest at 23 inches and a few other Rainbows at 15-20 inches were caught and shown here. All videos and photos were combined together here from the two month period fishing the Big Flat Brook, Paulenskill and Flat Brook. Special thanks to my friend Alex Lospinsco for giving me some great fishing tips! He is the best fisherman I know.
