2 Monate – 8000km – zu zweit auf der Simson - Sommer 2015
Utah - Arizona - Nevada - Kalifornien - Idaho - Oregon - Wyoming - Utah
endlich, nach knapp zwei Jahren sind wir mit dem Zusammenschnitt von unserer Reise bzw. unserer Hochzeitsreise fertig geworden! Da Susi auf dem Moped den ganzen Tag nichts zu tun hatte, ist sehr, sehr viel an Videomaterial zusammengekommen. Kaum zu glauben, dass uns sogar eine 60GB!! Speicherkarte kaputt ging! Zum Glück konnten wir einen Teil retten, dennoch fehlen uns einige Aufnahmen und Bilder..
Wir hatten in den zwei Monaten wirklich nur das dabei, was unser Moped tragen konnte. Lange Hose, kurze Hose, Lederhose & Dirndl. Ein Mini-Handtuch, Schlafsäcke welche in einem Seesack als Sitz für Susi umfungiert wurden, ein Zelt und joa das wars dann auch schon fast.. Unser „Hochzeitsgewand“ haben wir uns in Las Vegas gekauft und mit der Post heimgeschickt.
Wir hatten keine einzige Panne, das einzige „Problem“ war, dass das Moped teilweise nicht sonderlich gut lief. Das lag vermutlich an der Hitze und an den Höhenmetern. Es war eine unglaubliche Erfahrung, Amerika mit einer Durchschnittsgeschwindigkeit von 38kmh zu erkundigen. Da wir zu langsam für die Autobahnen waren, mussten wir die ganzen „Back-roads“ nehmen. Ohne Empfang, ohne Beschilderung und nachts oftmals mit ganzen Rudeln von heulenden Coyoten im Nacken.. Szenen, die wir nie vergessen werden… Hitze, Burger, Mopedgeruch, Cowboygang, ..
Selbst nachts hörten wir noch den Zwei-Takter-Sound in unseren Köpfen ..
Die letzten 1000km sind wir allerdings ohne Vorderbremse gefahren und ein roter „Billig-Leucht-Lutscher“ hat uns abends als Rücklicht gedient.. (wer braucht schon Licht und Bremsen?)
Immer wenn es uns möglich war, haben wir gezeltet, allerdings ist es bei 50° in der Wüste nicht aushaltbar, weswegen wir uns auch zum Teil Motels o.Ä. genommen haben. (kleiner Tipp – fragt in Las Vegas nie nach dem günstigsten Hotel!! – Unterkünfte sind da eh spotbillig und wer mag schon im Zimmer zelten müssen? ;-))
Soviele Gesichter, soviele spannende, anstrengende und wunderschöne Erfahrungen, welche noch in unseren Köpfen schwirren.
Irgendwann werden uns wieder hunderte Fliegen, Staubkörner und Dreck um die Nase wehen.. und dann heißts:.. on the road again..
Finally, after almost two years we’ve finished the video-cut together of our trip/honeymoon! Susi had the whole day nothing to do on the moped that’s why we got so much video material. Hard to believe that even a 60GB !! memory card got broken! Fortunately, we were able to save a part, but we still miss some videos and pictures..
Our whole luggage for the two months consisted about what our moped is able to carry. Long trousers, short trousers, leather pants & dirndl. A mini-towel, sleeping bags which were enclosed in a duffel bag as a seat for Susi, a tent and jeah that was almost everything .. We bought our "wedding gown" in Las Vegas and we sent it home with the post.
We did not have a single breakdown, the only "problem" we had was, that the moped did not run always very well. This was probably because of the heat and the altitude. It was an incredible experience to inquire America with an average speed of 38kmh. We were too slow for the interstate, so we had to take the "back-roads". Without reception, without signs and at night often with whole packs of howling coyotes in the neck .. Scenes, which we will never forget ... Heat, burgers, moped smell, “cowboywalk”, ..
Even at night we still heard the two-tone sound in our heads .. ;-)
The last 1000km we drove without a front brake and a red "cheap-light-lollipop" has served us in the evenings as a backlight .. (who needs lights and brakes? ;-))
Whenever it was able, we camped, but it is not executable with 50°C in the desert, that’s why we also slept in motels or similar. (an advice: Ask never for the cheapest hotel in Las Vegas) - accommodations are always very cheap there and who likes to camp in the room?) ;-)
So many faces, so many exciting, exhausting and wonderful experiences, which are still buzzing in our heads.
One day, hundreds of flies, dust particles and dirt will blow again in our faces and then it’s: .. on the road again..

4/26/1982. Marianne Scott
Marianne Florence Scott is a retired Canadian librarian and educator. She has held several positions in her career, the most notable being the third National Librarian of Canada (NLC). She was not only the first woman to be appointed to the position but also the first professionally educated librarian to hold the post.
Biography
Marianne F. Scott was born in Toronto, Canada on December 4, 1928 to Merle Redvers and Florence Ethel Scott. Marianne Scott studied at McGill University earning a Bachelor of Arts in 1949 and a Bachelor of Library Science in 1952. From 1952 to 1955, Scott was an Assistant Librarian at the Bank of Montreal. She was employed at McGill University from 1955 to 1984, serving as law librarian from 1955 to 1973, lecturer in the Faculty of Law from 1964 to 1975, and Director of Libraries 1975 to 1984. She was the co-founder of the Index to Canadian Legal Periodical Literature, the first volume was published in 1963. Marianne Scott was the first President of the Canadian Association of Law Libraries, which became a formal association on July 5, 1963.

Joseph Bottoms
Joseph Bottoms (born April 22, 1954) is an American actor who won the 1975 Golden Globe Award for New Star Of The Year - Actor for his role in The Dove. He is also perhaps best known for his roles in the television mini-series Holocaust and Disney's The Black Hole.
Career
Bottoms made his screen debut in the ABC television movie Trouble Comes to Town. A year later he played the role of Robin Lee Graham, in The Dove, a real-life story about a teenager sailor's voyage around the world. Bottoms won the Golden Globe Award for New Star of the Year – Actor, joining a host of other actors that have won the award such as Richard Burton, Robert Redford, Dustin Hoffman, Jon Voight and later Ben Kingsley.
In the 1978 mini-series Holocaust, he starred as Rudi Weiss, a German Jew who joins the Jewish partisans. The series was well-received, winning the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Miniseries.
A year later he starred in The Black Hole, a science fiction film that grossed over $35 million at the US box office. In 1981, he made his Broadway debut in Fifth of July. The play made its Broadway debut at the New Apollo Theatre on November 5, 1980, directed by Mason with Daniels reprising the role of Jed, Christopher Reeve as Ken and Swoosie Kurtz as Gwen. Replacement actors for the role of Ken included Richard Thomas, Michael O'Keefe, Timothy Bottoms, and his brother Joseph Bottoms. Laraine Newman replaced Kurtz as Gwen. Kathy Bates was also a replacement in the role of June.

Marie Osmond
Olive Marie Osmond (born October 13, 1959) is an American singer, film screenwriter, actress, doll designer, and a member of the show business family the Osmonds. Although she was never part of her family's singing group, she gained success as a solo country music artist in the 1970s and 1980s. Her best known song is a cover of the country pop ballad "Paper Roses." From 1976 to 1979, she and her singer brother Donny Osmond hosted the TV variety show Donny & Marie.
Early life
Olive Marie Osmond was born in Ogden, Utah, the daughter of Olive May (née Davis) and George Virl Osmond. She was raised as a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She is the only daughter of nine children; her brothers are Virl, Tom, Alan, Wayne, Merrill, Jay, Donny and Jimmy Osmond. She and her father also shared the same birthday, October 13. From an early age, her brothers maintained a career in show business, singing and performing on national television. Osmond debuted as part of her brothers' act The Osmond Brothers on the The Andy Williams Show when she was four, but generally did not perform with her brothers in the group's television performances through the 1960s.

endlich, nach knapp zwei Jahren sind wir mit dem Zusammenschnitt von unserer Reise bzw. unserer Hochzeitsreise fertig geworden! Da Susi auf dem Moped den ganzen Tag nichts zu tun hatte, ist sehr, sehr viel an Videomaterial zusammengekommen. Kaum zu glauben, dass uns sogar eine 60GB!! Speicherkarte kaputt ging! Zum Glück konnten wir einen Teil retten, dennoch fehlen uns einige Aufnahmen und Bilder..
Wir hatten in den zwei Monaten wirklich nur das dabei, was unser Moped tragen konnte. Lange Hose, kurze Hose, Lederhose & Dirndl. Ein Mini-Handtuch, Schlafsäcke welche in einem Seesack als Sitz für Susi umfungiert wurden, ein Zelt und joa das wars dann auch schon fast.. Unser „Hochzeitsgewand“ haben wir uns in Las Vegas gekauft und mit der Post heimgeschickt.
Wir hatten keine einzige Panne, das einzige „Problem“ war, dass das Moped teilweise nicht sonderlich gut lief. Das lag vermutlich an der Hitze und an den Höhenmetern. Es war eine unglaubliche Erfahrung, Amerika mit einer Durchschnittsgeschwindigkeit von 38kmh zu erkundigen. Da wir zu langsam für die Autobahnen waren, mussten wir die ganzen „Back-roads“ nehmen. Ohne Empfang, ohne Beschilderung und nachts oftmals mit ganzen Rudeln von heulenden Coyoten im Nacken.. Szenen, die wir nie vergessen werden… Hitze, Burger, Mopedgeruch, Cowboygang, ..
Selbst nachts hörten wir noch den Zwei-Takter-Sound in unseren Köpfen ..
Die letzten 1000km sind wir allerdings ohne Vorderbremse gefahren und ein roter „Billig-Leucht-Lutscher“ hat uns abends als Rücklicht gedient.. (wer braucht schon Licht und Bremsen?)
Immer wenn es uns möglich war, haben wir gezeltet, allerdings ist es bei 50° in der Wüste nicht aushaltbar, weswegen wir uns auch zum Teil Motels o.Ä. genommen haben. (kleiner Tipp – fragt in Las Vegas nie nach dem günstigsten Hotel!! – Unterkünfte sind da eh spotbillig und wer mag schon im Zimmer zelten müssen? ;-))
Soviele Gesichter, soviele spannende, anstrengende und wunderschöne Erfahrungen, welche noch in unseren Köpfen schwirren.
Irgendwann werden uns wieder hunderte Fliegen, Staubkörner und Dreck um die Nase wehen.. und dann heißts:.. on the road again..
Finally, after almost two years we’ve finished the video-cut together of our trip/honeymoon! Susi had the whole day nothing to do on the moped that’s why we got so much video material. Hard to believe that even a 60GB !! memory card got broken! Fortunately, we were able to save a part, but we still miss some videos and pictures..
Our whole luggage for the two months consisted about what our moped is able to carry. Long trousers, short trousers, leather pants & dirndl. A mini-towel, sleeping bags which were enclosed in a duffel bag as a seat for Susi, a tent and jeah that was almost everything .. We bought our "wedding gown" in Las Vegas and we sent it home with the post.
We did not have a single breakdown, the only "problem" we had was, that the moped did not run always very well. This was probably because of the heat and the altitude. It was an incredible experience to inquire America with an average speed of 38kmh. We were too slow for the interstate, so we had to take the "back-roads". Without reception, without signs and at night often with whole packs of howling coyotes in the neck .. Scenes, which we will never forget ... Heat, burgers, moped smell, “cowboywalk”, ..
Even at night we still heard the two-tone sound in our heads .. ;-)
The last 1000km we drove without a front brake and a red "cheap-light-lollipop" has served us in the evenings as a backlight .. (who needs lights and brakes? ;-))
Whenever it was able, we camped, but it is not executable with 50°C in the desert, that’s why we also slept in motels or similar. (an advice: Ask never for the cheapest hotel in Las Vegas) - accommodations are always very cheap there and who likes to camp in the room?) ;-)
So many faces, so many exciting, exhausting and wonderful experiences, which are still buzzing in our heads.
One day, hundreds of flies, dust particles and dirt will blow again in our faces and then it’s: .. on the road again..
