Jason (/ˈdʒeɪsən/; Greek: Ἰάσων Iásōn) was an ancient Greek mythological hero who was famous for his role as the leader of the Argonauts and their quest for the Golden Fleece. He was the son of Aeson, the rightful king of Iolcos. He was married to the sorceress Medea. Because he belongs to mythology, he may have existed before the Greek Dark Ages (1100–800 BC.) The people who wrote about Jason lived around 300 BC.
Jason appeared in various literary works in the classical world of Greece and Rome, including the epic poem Argonautica and the tragedy Medea. In the modern world, Jason has emerged as a character in various adaptations of his myths, such as the 1963 film Jason and the Argonauts and the 2000 TV miniseries of the same name. Jason is also the main character in the British TV series Atlantis.
Jason has connections outside the classical world, being the mythical founder of the city of Ljubljana, the capital of Slovenia.
Jason's father is invariably Aeson, but there is great variation as to his mother's name. According to various authors, she could be:

"Don't You Wanna Stay?" Jason Aldean (ft. Kelly Clarkson) LYRICS: I really hate to let this moment go Touching your skin, and your hair falling slow When a goodbye kiss, feels like this Don't you wanna stay here a little while? Don't you wanna hold each other tight? Don't you wanna fall asleep with me tonight? Don't you wanna stay here a little while? We can make forever feel this way Don't you wanna stay? Let's take it slow, I don't wanna move too fast I don't wanna just make love, I wanna make love last When you're on this high, it's a sad goodbye Don't you wanna stay here a little while? Don't you wanna hold each other tight? Don't you wanna fall asleep with me tonight? Don't you wanna stay here a little while? We can make forever feel this wa...

David Kelley is a political philosopher, writer, and the executive director of the Atlas Society. Kelley is a strong proponent of objectivism and has published a wide range of literature including A Life of One's Own (1998) and The Contested Legacy of Ayn Rand (2000). In this video from a seminar in Aix-en-Provence, France in 1991, Kelley delivers a lecture about two types of social justice systems: egalitarianism and welfare rights. He claims that "the welfare state is subject to all the same problems that have made socialism unworkable. It creates perverse incentives among the people it tries to serve; it is run by a vast bureaucracy that is more interested in preserving its own power than in achieving results." Kelley then outlines the basic structure of a system of individualist ethi...
The dilemma of work. It's become a prevalent topic here at Exist Anew and something we all seem to struggle with on a complex variety of levels. Can we be truly free if we must work countless hours to "succeed?" And have we been conned into thinking that "hard work" is in our best interest and connected to our meaning, purpose and value as a human? Can there be a fair system of work to support so many people? We were honored to have University of Southern Maine Professor of Philosophy and author, Jason Read, join us for a podcast conversation to shed light on these topics and more. Professor Read engaged us with some powerful thoughts regarding work from a historical, societal and individual perspective while discussing the importance of Philosophy within this issue and at large. We have...

Jason E strutting on by the presby. The way you walk, you slur your talk, can
you tell me.
How could you choose the road you did, the walls behind you which you hid.
Who do you blame, who should take the fall, not me.
Is it a situation can you really get out.
Have your goals in life left you ripped off.
Without a reason, without a direction.
Void of motivation, leaves many in hesitation
to lend a helping hand or even a firm place to stand.
Jason E how would it be to see what you see.
A new day, unsuspecting prey, can you help me.
Decision one leads to another.
Zero impact on your future or so it seems then there go your dreams, what now.
Is it a situation can you really get out.
Have your goals in life left you ripped off.
Without a reason, without a direction.
Void of motivation, leaves many in hesitation
to lend a helping hand or even a firm place to stand.
