Mrauk U (Burmese: မြောက်ဦးမြို့; MLCTS: mrauk u: mrui., Burmese pronunciation: [mjaʊʔ ú mjo̰]) is an archaeologically important town in northern Rakhine State, Myanmar. It is also the capital of Mrauk-U Township, a sub region of the Sittwe District. It was the capital of Mrauk U Kingdom, the most important and powerful Rakhine (Arakanese) kingdom, from 1430 to 1785.
Mrauk U lies roughly 11 kilometres (6.8 mi) east of the Kaladan River on the banks of its minor tributaries. The town is located on a small outcrop of the Rakhine Yoma on the eastern side of the Kaladan's alluvial plain. Thus, the surrounding countryside is hilly yet also contains a great deal of marshes, mangroves and lakes.
Mrauk U, like much of Rakhine State, is situated in a coastal tropical monsoon rainforest climate region. The town receives over 1,200 millimetres (47 in) of rain a year from the Southwestern Monsoon, making it one of the wettest regions in Myanmar. The Monsoon season usually begins in late May and ends by mid October.
Rakhine State (Burmese: ရခိုင်ပြည်နယ်; MLCTS: rahkuing pranynai, Rakhine pronunciation [ɹəkʰàiɴ pɹènè]; Burmese pronunciation: [jəkʰàiɴ pjìnɛ̀]; formerly Arakan) is a state in Myanmar. Situated on the western coast, it is bordered by Chin State to the north, Magway Region, Bago Region and Ayeyarwady Region to the east, the Bay of Bengal to the west, and the Chittagong Division of Bangladesh to the northwest. It is located approximately between latitudes 17°30' north and 21°30' north and east longitudes 92°10' east and 94°50' east. The Arakan Mountains, rising to 3,063 metres (10,049 ft) at Victoria Peak, separate Rakhine State from central Burma. Off the coast of Rakhine State there are some fairly large islands such as Cheduba and Myingun Island. Rakhine State has an area of 36,762 square kilometres (14,194 sq mi) and its capital is Sittwe.
The term Rakhine is believed to have been derived from the Pali word Rakkhapura (Sanskrit Raksapura), meaning "Land of Ogres" (Rakshas), possibly a pejorative referring to the original Negrito inhabitants. The Pali word "Rakkhapura" ("Rakkhita") means "land of the people of Rakhasa" (also Rakkha, Rakhaing). They were given this name in honour of their preservation of their national heritage and ethics or morality. The word Rakhine means, "one who maintains his own race." In the Rakhine language, the land is called Rakhinepray, the ethnic Rakhine are called Rakhinetha.
Myanmar (myan-MARi/miɑːnˈmɑːr/ mee-ahn-MAR,/miˈɛnmɑːr/ mee-EN-mar or /maɪˈænmɑːr/ my-AN-mar (also with the stress on first syllable); Burmese pronunciation: [mjəmà]), officially the Republic of the Union of Myanmar and also known as Burma, is a sovereign state in Southeast Asia bordered by Bangladesh, India, China, Laos and Thailand. One-third of Myanmar's total perimeter of 1,930 km (1,200 miles) forms an uninterrupted coastline along the Bay of Bengal and the Andaman Sea. The country's 2014 census revealed a much lower population than expected, with 51 million people recorded. Myanmar is 676,578 square kilometres (261,227 sq mi) in size. Its capital city is Naypyidaw and its largest city is Yangon (Rangoon).
Early civilisations in Myanmar included the Tibeto-Burman-speaking Pyu city-states in Upper Burma and the Mon kingdoms in Lower Burma. In the 9th century, the Bamar people entered the upper Irrawaddy valley and, following the establishment of the Pagan Kingdom in the 1050s, the Burmese language, culture and Theravada Buddhism slowly became dominant in the country. The Pagan Kingdom fell due to the Mongol invasions and several warring states emerged. In the 16th century, reunified by the Taungoo Dynasty, the country was for a brief period the largest empire in the history of Southeast Asia. The early 19th century Konbaung Dynasty ruled over an area that included modern Myanmar and briefly controlled Manipur and Assam as well. The British conquered Myanmar after three Anglo-Burmese Wars in the 19th century and the country became a British colony. Myanmar became an independent nation in 1948, initially as a democratic nation and then, following a coup d'état in 1962, a military dictatorship. While the military dictatorship formally ended in 2011, most of the party leaders are former military officers.
A pagoda is a tiered tower with multiple eaves, built in traditions originating in historic East Asia or with respect to those traditions, common to Nepal, India, China, Japan, Korea, Vietnam, Burma, Sri Lanka and other parts of Asia. Some pagodas are used as Taoist houses of worship. Most pagodas were built to have a religious function, most commonly Buddhist, and were often located in or near viharas. In some countries, the term may refer to other religious structures. In Vietnam and Cambodia, due to French translation, the English term Pagoda is a more generic term referring to a place of worship, although pagoda is not an accurate word to describe a Buddhist vihara. The modern pagoda is an evolution of the Ancient Nepal stupa, a tomb-like structure where sacred relics could be kept safe and venerated. The architectural structure of the stupa has spread across Asia, taking on many diverse forms as details specific to different regions are incorporated into the overall design.
Western Myanmar Mrauk-U: 700 Buddhist pagodas in the midst of a beautiful landscape Mrauk U is an ancient city, where according to the legend Lord Buddha has been. It has a very special atmosphere. The old temples are situated in the midst of a beautiful and peaceful landscape. It feels like the Buddha energy is still there. People live a simple, relaxed and peaceful life. Mrauk U is not easy to reach. First a flight from Yangon to Sittwe. You have grand views from the plane as you can see at my photos. Book it some weeks before during the tourist season. Then a 3 or 7 hour boat ride (depending on the availability) to Mrauk U. Again great panoramas as you can see in rivers around Mrauk U. It is very worth the effort. I got the feeling how far we, in the so called developed countries, hav...

To get to Mrauk U, you have to find a boat that can take you up river about seven hours from Sittwe, a port city on Myanmar's west coast, on the Bay of Bengal. In medieval times, it was the capital of the Arakan Kingdom. The trip there and back was three days well spent, including the boat ride. We pushed away from the jetty around 17:00 and the sun started setting as soon as we hit the river. About 5 hours later, I felt like I was in Apocalypse Now. It was pitch black and the river narrowed, thick rainforest on either side. At one point, we were dead in the water with the engine on fire. The crew put out the fire, reattached a fuel line, and we were chugging up the river again. Like it happens every day. We went feet-dry around 23:30 and the town was dark. Most of Mrauk U goes to sle...
Mrauk U, Rakhine State, Myanmar (Burma) in March 2014. We got there on a six-hour trip from Sittwe up the Kaladan River in a small boat. Mrauk U was the capital of Arakan Kingdom from 1433-1784, and there are still hundreds of pagodas and temples throughout the village and countryside. From Mrauk U, we also took a day trip three hours up the Lemro River to visit some ethnic villages where some of the older women have spider-web tattoos on their faces. Nestled just below the border with Bangladesh on Burma's far west coast in the state of Rakhine, the ancient capital of Mrauk U is another of Burma's key cultural highlights. Whilst exploring the Mrauk U Empire's splendid capital is a highlight, getting there is just an inspirational!

Título: Porque eu te amei
I got your letter
Eu recebi sua carta
From the postman
Do carteiro
Just the other day
Justamente no outro dia
So I decided
Então eu decidi
To write you this song
Te escrever essa música
Just to let you know
Só para você saber
Exactly the way I feel
Exatamente como eu me sinto
To let you know
Para você saber
My love's for real
Meu amor é para valer
Because I love you
Porque eu te amo
And I'll do anything
E eu farei de tudo
I'll give you my heart
Eu vou te dar meu coração
My everything
Meu tudo
Because I love you
Porque eu te amo
I'll be right by your side
Eu estaria bem ao seu lado
To be alive
Para estar vivo
To be your guy
Para ser seu homem
If you should feel
Se você deveria sentir
That I don't really care
Isso eu realmente não me importo
And that you're starting to lose ground
E isso você está começando a perder o chão
Just let me reassure you
Só me deixe te reassegurar
That you can count on me
Que você pode contar comigo
And that I will always be around
E eu sempre estarei por perto
Because I love you
Porque eu te amo
My heart's an open door
Meu coração é uma porta aberta
Girl, won't you please come on in
Menina, por favor, não fique em cima
Because I love you
Porque eu te amo
I'll be right by your side
Eu estarei bem ao seu lado
To be alive
Para estar vivo
To be your guy
para ser seu homem
