Tom Foreman
Tom Foreman is a broadcast journalist for CNN whose reporting experience spans more than three decades. Beginning as a local television reporter in Montgomery, Alabama, at WSFA, he continued on to work for WWL-TV, the CBS affiliate in New Orleans, Louisiana. In 1990, Foreman relocated to Denver, Colorado, as a national network correspondent for ABC World News Tonight with Peter Jennings and Nightline. In 2000, Foreman signed with National Geographic and anchored National Geographic Today, a daily news story focusing on major scientific and breaking nature news, and Inside Base Camp, for which he won an Emmy award as best interviewer. He joined CNN in 2004, and currently works out of CNN's Washington DC Bureau covering a wide range topics from breaking political news to international crises. His career has taken him to all 50 states and through more than 20 countries for coverage of earthquakes, civil wars, economic upheavals and social unrest.
Education
Foreman graduated magna cum laude from Troy University in 1981 with a degree in Broadcast Journalism and another in Theater Performance.

Bernie Sanders
Bernard "Bernie" Sanders (born September 8, 1941) is an American politician and the junior United States Senator from Vermont. He is a candidate for the Democratic nomination for President of the United States in the 2016 U.S. presidential election. A Democrat as of 2015, Sanders had been the longest-serving independent in U.S. congressional history, though his caucusing with the Democrats entitled him to committee assignments and at times gave Democrats a majority. Sanders has been the ranking minority member on the Senate Budget Committee since January 2015, and previously served for two years as chair of the Senate Veterans' Affairs Committee.
Sanders was born and raised in the New York City borough of Brooklyn and graduated from the University of Chicago in 1964. While a student, he was an active civil rights protest organizer for the Congress of Racial Equality and the Student Nonviolent Coordinating Committee. After settling in Vermont in 1968, Sanders ran unsuccessful third-party campaigns for governor and U.S. senator in the early to mid-1970s. As an independent, he was elected mayor of Burlington, Vermont's most populous city, in 1981, and was reelected three times. In 1990, he was elected to represent Vermont's at-large congressional district in the U.S. House of Representatives. In 1991, Sanders co-founded the Congressional Progressive Caucus. He served as a congressman for 16 years before being elected to the U.S. Senate in 2006. In 2012, he was reelected with 71% of the popular vote. During the 2016 presidential primaries, Sanders became the first self-described democratic socialist and first Jewish American to win a presidential primary of a major party, namely the New Hampshire primary.

C'est très étrange: je n'ai jamais ressenti l'envie, le besoin, de traduire un texte avant celui-là. J'avais, bien sûr, lu beaucoup de livres de Henry Corbin mais il était difficile d'en parler à des personnes n'ayant pas suivi le même cheminement. Et voila que cette synthèse, très dense mais élégante, écrite par Tom Cheetham, rassemblait tous les thèmes principaux avec l'intuition, la pénétration qui caractérisent Henry Corbin. Car il ne s'agit pas simplement d'une recherche intellectuelle - en dépit, pourrait-on dire, de l'immense érudition de Corbin (qui maîtrisait entre autres, le persan, l'arabe, l'hébreu, le sanscrit, le turc, etc. dont on lui doit la traduction de maintes œuvres majeures), mais d'une recherche qui impliquait son cœur, son âme, i.e. ses intuitions, ses pénétrations, son attraction ...
Ainsi, en nous permettant d'accéder à notre « acte d'être » fondamental, bien réel, notre « Présence au monde », dont le Dasein de Heidegger avait été la première révélation pour Corbin mais qu'il devait mener beaucoup plus loin par sa rencontre, entre autres, avec l'ésotérisme mystique islamique, Henry Corbin entreprend de conjurer le nihilisme, le totalitarisme et tous les 'ismes » ambiants pour amener à ce niveau de conscience où pourrait s'instaurer un vrai dialogue des civilisations.

C'est très étrange: je n'ai jamais ressenti l'envie, le besoin, de traduire un texte avant celui-là. J'avais, bien sûr, lu beaucoup de livres de Henry Corbin mais il était difficile d'en parler à des personnes n'ayant pas suivi le même cheminement. Et voila que cette synthèse, très dense mais élégante, écrite par Tom Cheetham, rassemblait tous les thèmes principaux avec l'intuition, la pénétration qui caractérisent Henry Corbin.
