John Winston Ono Lennon, MBE (born John Winston Lennon; 9 October 1940 – 8 December 1980) was an English singer and songwriter who rose to worldwide fame as a co-founder of the band the Beatles, the most commercially successful band in the history of popular music. With fellow member Paul McCartney, he formed a celebrated songwriting partnership.
Born and raised in Liverpool, Lennon became involved in the skiffle craze as a teenager; his first band, the Quarrymen, evolved into the Beatles in 1960. When the group disbanded in 1970, Lennon embarked on a solo career that produced the critically acclaimed albums John Lennon/Plastic Ono Band and Imagine, and iconic songs such as "Give Peace a Chance", "Working Class Hero", and "Imagine". After his marriage to Yoko Ono in 1969, he changed his name to John Ono Lennon. Lennon disengaged himself from the music business in 1975 to raise his infant son Sean, but re-emerged with Ono in 1980 with the new album Double Fantasy. He was murdered three weeks after its release.

Plot: The Hotel Splendide is on a remote and cold island, accessible only by a once-a-month ferry. Hubble telescope captures amazing image of celestial body’s demise
NASA has released an incredible image of a sun like star reaching its colorful demise in what the space administration has dubbed as its “last hurrah”. Located around 4,000 light-years from Earth, the kaleidoscopic photo was captured by the Hubble Telescope and shows the star, part of the planetary nebula NGC 2440, casting off its outer layers of gas. The gas formed a cocoon around the star’s remaining core while ultraviolet light from the dying star makes the material glow. The white dot at the center of the image is the burnt out star, commonly known as a white dwarf, and is one of the hottest white dwarfs known to grace the Milky Way with a surface temperature of over 360,000 degrees Fahrenheit (200,000 degrees Celsius), according to NASA.A white dwarf is what low or medium mass stars...

According to NASA, "The star is ending its life by casting off its outer layers of gas, which formed a cocoon around the star's remaining core. Ultraviolet light from the dying star makes the material glow. The burned-out star, called a white dwarf, is the white dot in the center."
It is located about 4,000 light-years from Earth.
The agency further notes, "The planetary nebula in this image is called NGC 2440. NASA has released an incredible image of a sun like star reaching its colorful demise in what the space administration has dubbed as its “last hurrah”.
Located around 4,000 light-years from Earth, the kaleidoscopic photo was captured by the Hubble Telescope and shows the star, part of the planetary nebula NGC 2440, casting off its outer layers of gas.
The gas formed a cocoon around the star’s remaining core while ultraviolet light from the dying star makes the material glow.
The white dot at the center of the image is the burnt out star, commonly known as a white dwarf, and is one of the hottest white dwarfs known to grace the Milky Way with a surface temperature of over 360,000 degrees Fahrenheit (200,000 degrees Celsius), according to NASA.A white dwarf is what low or medium mass stars, including the Sun, become after they have exhausted their hydrogen fuel.
These celestial relics are called planetary nebulae, named so because they resembled distant planets Uranus and Neptune when seen through small telescopes during the 18th and 19th centuries.The chaotic appearance of this particular stellar suggests it discarded its mass periodically, emitting material in different directions during each outburst. The long, dark streaks pointing away from the star are clouds of dust.

These complex illnesses, which include anorexia, bulimia, and binge eating disorder, severely undermine health and cost lives. This event explored the many dimensions to eating disorders, including their biological bases, risk factors and treatment options. What role does body image play, and how do industries, such as fashion and advertising, often promulgate unrealistic societal standards of beauty? How might women and girls, in particular, be affected by such pressure? And what’s to be done? For example, would enacting legislation that requires minimum BMIs for models, or requiring disclosures of digitally altered ads, help? This panel included expertise in psychiatry, children’s health, policy and eating disorders prevention.
Part of The Dr. Lawrence H. and Roberta Cohn Forums, this event was presented September 20, 2016 in Collaboration with PRI’s The World and WGBH.

% quickly prototyping things. Matlab licenses are pricey, if you don't have
% one (or, like me, work for an organisation that does) try Octave as a
% good free alternative. This code should work in Octave too.

% In matlab, K-means operates on a 2D array, where each sample is one row,
% and the features are the columns. We can use the reshape function to turn

SPITTING IMAGE was an award winning British television satirical puppet show which was hugely popular during the Thatcher era of the 1980s. The puppets, caricaturing public figures, were designed by Peter Fluck and Roger Law (Fluck and Law), two illustrators and sculptors who had previously worked mostly for print. John Lloyd, producer of NOT THE NINE O'CLOCK NEWS and BLACKADDER, was the show's founding comedy producer. The show ran from 1984 to 1994 for over 18 series and was nominated during its run for 10 BAFTA Television Awards, and won two Emmy Awards in 1985 and 1986 in the Popular Arts Category.
The main long serving voice actors were Chris Barrie, Jon Glover, Steve Nallon, John Thomson, Harry Enfield, Alistair McGowan, Hugh Dennis, Enn Reitel, Kate Robbins and Steve Coogan.
