The Blue Jays were a short-lived American doo wop ensemble from Venice, California.
The Blue Jays formed in 1961, and after performing at an amateur's night at the Fox Theatre, they were asked by Werly Fairburn to sign to his Milestone Records. Their debut single was "Lover's Island", written by group members Leon Peels and Alex Manigeault, which became a hit in the U.S., reaching #31 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1961. Later singles included "Tears are Falling" (1961) and "The Right to Love" (1962), but the group saw no further success and broke up in 1962.
Leon Peels briefly launched a solo career later in the 1960s.

The Toronto Blue Jays are a Canadian professional baseball team based in Toronto, Ontario. The Blue Jays are a member of the East division of the American League (AL) in Major League Baseball (MLB), and play their home games at Rogers Centre.
The "Blue Jays" name originates from the bird of the same name, and blue is also the traditional colour of two of Toronto's other professional sports teams: the Maple Leafs (ice hockey) and the Argonauts (Canadian football). In addition, the team was originally owned by the Labatt Brewing Company, makers of the popular beer Labatt's Blue. Colloquially nicknamed the "Jays", the team's official colours are royal blue, navy blue, red, and white. An expansion franchise, the club was founded in Toronto in 1977. Originally based at Exhibition Stadium, the team began playing its home games at the SkyDome, upon its opening in 1989. Since 2000, the Blue Jays have been owned by Rogers Communications and in 2004, the SkyDome was purchased by that company, which it renamed Rogers Centre. They are the second MLB franchise to be based outside the United States, and currently the only team based outside the US after the first Canadian franchise, the Montreal Expos, relocated to Washington, D.C. after the 2004 season and became the Washington Nationals.
The Blue is a central market place in Bermondsey an area in London. The market is open Monday to Saturday from 9am until 5pm and has about 10 stall holders, selling food and clothes. The area has been known as The Blue for more than two hundred and thirty years and is probably named after the original Blue Anchor public house that gave its name to Blue Anchor Lane. The market has capacity for 24 stalls.
Immediately north of Blue Anchor Lane on an arched viaduct are the multiple railway tracks of the Brighton and South East Main Lines. The Blue Anchor Lane joins St. James's Road where the viaduct arches to the immediate north west contain the remnants of the disused Spa Road railway station which was the original terminus of London's first railway.
In 2005 a Metropolitan Police report described the area as a crime hotspot for "race crime and youth disorder". In 2009 during the funeral procession of Jade Goody a white dove was released at The Blue, where her family once had a stall.

Theory one: Ken Pagan (The man shown in the thumbnail) backhand sidearms the beer can. Theory two: The beer can is flung by someone sitting down behind the man in the white hat.

The Orioles faced off against the Blue Jays at the Rogers Centre in Toronto on Tuesday night in a winner-takes-all Wild Card playoff game to determine which team would advance to the American League Division Series against the Rangers. As you would expect, the atmosphere at the elimination game was insane, and at no point was that more evident than in the seventh inning when a Blue Jays fan chucked a full can of beer at Orioles outfielder Hyun Soo Kim as he fielded a fly ball. Jason Grilli salutes Blue Jays fans in Players’ Tribune At the point when Toronto Blue Jays reliever Jason Grilli takes the hill at Rogers Center he can really single out the spot in the stands where he would sit as an adolescent. So it's no big surprise he calls himself a "fan" of the group. His dad Steve, who played quite a long while in the Blue Jays small time framework and even showed up in one amusement for the significant group club, would treat his family to regular excursions to Rogers Center. That is the place youthful Jason built up an energy for the group that persists right up 'til today. "One day, I needed to have the capacity to contribute front of a sold out stadium in Toronto," Grilli wrote in a Players' Tribune post distributed on Friday, hours before the Blue Jays op...

Philadelphia Phillies 6 at Toronto Blue Jays 8, F -- Facing elimination, the Phillies trailed by four in the seventh. But they battled back to score five runs -- three of them courtesy of a Lenny Dykstra homer -- to take a 6-5 lead into the bottom of the ninth. That's when the Wild Thing, Mitch Williams, trotted out to close the door on the Jays. Instead, he put two men on for Joe Carter, who slammed the first come-from-behind, Series-winning homer in baseball history.

On Lover's Island
Where the trees stand so tall
And the dust turn to gold
And love never grows old
On Lover's Island
Where the birds sing of love
Seems a gift from up above
I met her one day
(Met her one day)
As we stood alone on the mountain
Under the moon and stars above
Oh, darling, don't ever go
She was Venus, the goddess of love
On Lover's Island
Where the trees stand so tall
And the dust turn to gold
And love never, never
Never, never grows old
