Matthew evacuations begin: 'Less than 24 hours to prepare'
Hurricane Matthew, the most powerful Atlantic tropical storm in almost a decade, took aim for the Bahamas on Wednesday after it flooded streets, flattened homes and left a trail of destruction in Haiti.
Matthew, a powerful storm with sustained winds of 140 mph, made landfall in Haiti just after 7 a.m. (8 a.m. ET) Tuesday. With communications down across much of the island, it remained too early to accurately assess the damage Wednesday morning, but civil defense officials said many homes had been destroyed or damaged in the south.
Matthew brushed past the eastern tip of Cuba at about 8 p.m. ET, almost 53 years to the day after Hurricane Flora killed 2,000 Cubans on Oct. 3, 1953, the National Hurricane Center said. Landfall came at Juaco in a remote, sparsely populated part of the island, and preliminary reports indicated that the soaking rains and driving winds caused relatively little damage.
The Bahamas might not be so lucky when Matthew arrives sometime Wednesday night because of two factors that make it especially dangerous, according to weather experts.
Tropical storm systems typically diminish as they bump up against land, but Matthew "did not weaken even with its interaction with Hispaniola," the Caribbean island that Haiti shares with the Dominican Republic, said Kait Parker, a meteorologist for The Weather Channel.
Running into Cuba also did little to weaken Matthew, whose top sustained winds had dipped only to 125 mph by 2 a.m. — still a dangerous category 3 hurricane.
The other factor is that Matthew is simply "really, really slow," moving at only about 8 mph, said Ari Sarsalari, another meteorologist for The Weather Channel.
"All of Wednesday and Thursday, the Bahamas are going to be dealing with this storm," Sarsalari said late Tuesday night. "It's going to dump a tremendous amount of rain. You're going to have storm surge issues there, as well."

Afternoon
Afternoon is the time of the day between noon and evening. It is the time when the sun is descending from its zenith in the sky to somewhat before its terminus at the horizon in the west direction. In human life, it occupies roughly the latter half of the standard work and school day. It is also associated with a number of concerns related to health, safety, and economic productivity: generally, the early afternoon, after most people have eaten lunch, corresponds to decreased work performance, decreased alertness, and a higher incidence of motor vehicle accidents.
Terminology
Afternoon is the time occurring between noon and evening. The specific range of time this encompasses varies in one direction: noon is currently defined as a constant 12:00 pm, but when afternoon ends is dependent on when evening begins, for which there is no standard definition. However, before a period of transition from the twelfth to fourteenth centuries, noon instead referred to 3 pm—possible explanations include shifting times for prayers and midday meals, along which one concept of noon was defined—and so afternoon would have referred to a narrower timeframe.

Bill Burr
William Frederic "Bill" Burr (born June 10, 1968) is an American comedian, writer, and actor. He is best known for his stand-up comedy specials. He is also known for being the host of Bill Burr's Monday Morning Podcast, playing Patrick Kuby in the AMC crime drama series Breaking Bad, and starring in the Netflix animated sitcom F Is for Family as Frank Murphy. In 2013, The New York Times wrote that Burr "has been one of the funniest, most distinctive voices in the country for years."
Early life
Burr was born in Canton, Massachusetts, to white-collar parents of German and Irish descent. His father is a dentist. Burr obtained a bachelor's degree in radio from Emerson College in 1993. Before starting his comedy career, he worked in warehouses because "if [his] boss gave [him] a rough time, [he] could just get on a forklift and just, like, drive away".
Career
Burr's career began in 1992. He moved to New York City in 1995.
Since May 2007, Burr has recorded a weekly one-hour podcast, Bill Burr's Monday Morning Podcast, in which he speaks about his past and recent experiences, current events, going on tour, and sports, and offers advice to questions submitted by the listeners. The podcast is available on Burr's website and on the All Things Comedy network. He is sometimes joined by his wife, Nia Hill, and has featured guests and interviews with other comedians.

Matthew, a powerful storm with sustained winds of 140 mph, made landfall in Haiti just after 7 a.m. (8 a.m. ET) Tuesday. With communications down across much of the island, it remained too early to accurately assess the damage Wednesday morning, but civil defense officials said many homes had been destroyed or damaged in the south.
Matthew brushed past the eastern tip of Cuba at about 8 p.m. ET, almost 53 years to the day after Hurricane Flora killed 2,000 Cubans on Oct. 3, 1953, the National Hurricane Center said. Landfall came at Juaco in a remote, sparsely populated part of the island, and preliminary reports indicated that the soaking rains and driving winds caused relatively little damage.
The Bahamas might not be so lucky when Matthew arrives sometime Wednesday night because of two factors that make it especially dangerous, according to weather experts.
Tropical storm systems typically diminish as they bump up against land, but Matthew "did not weaken even with its interaction with Hispaniola," the Caribbean island that Haiti shares with the Dominican Republic, said Kait Parker, a meteorologist for The Weather Channel.
Running into Cuba also did little to weaken Matthew, whose top sustained winds had dipped only to 125 mph by 2 a.m. — still a dangerous category 3 hurricane.
The other factor is that Matthew is simply "really, really slow," moving at only about 8 mph, said Ari Sarsalari, another meteorologist for The Weather Channel.
"All of Wednesday and Thursday, the Bahamas are going to be dealing with this storm," Sarsalari said late Tuesday night. "It's going to dump a tremendous amount of rain. You're going to have storm surge issues there, as well."

Running into Cuba also did little to weaken Matthew, whose top sustained winds had dipped only to 125 mph by 2 a.m. — still a dangerous category 3 hurricane.
The other factor is that Matthew is simply "really, really slow," moving at only about 8 mph, said Ari Sarsalari, another meteorologist for The Weather Channel.
"All of Wednesday and Thursday, the Bahamas are going to be dealing with this storm," Sarsalari said late Tuesday night. "It's going to dump a tremendous amount of rain. You're going to have storm surge issues there, as well."

The modern world that we live in perpetually bombards us with situations that cause stress. A certain amount is good for us, but overmuch - particularly if it's day in and day out - may cause us both emotional and physical troubles.
However, there's a really simple, cheap and very effective answer - music. Music is an awesome healer. It is so powerful that relaxation music is utilized by hospitals across the world to reduce anxiousness in patients who are about to go into surgery. It has the power to comfort and relax you, to change your whole mood, and increase your energy state.
Frequently, music therapy is more cost-effective than administering medication, particularly for patients with anxiety, sleep disturbances or pain. Listening to music with a pace of 60 bpm has the most health benefits. This is the optimum rate for a resting heart, and you'll find that when you listen to music of this tempo your breathing will slow in time to the music. This successively will slow your pulse, promoting a calm, meditative state.
With all the ways music affects your body, you are able to likely already clearly see how music may be utilized as an effective relaxation and stress management tool. The ragas in this volume include raga Brindavani Sarang, rendered on flute by Hariprasad Chaurasia. One may imagine that this is how Krishna must have played for the gopis in Brindavan. This is followed by raga Madhmad Sarang, sung by Pandit Jasraj and raga Dhani rendered by Shahid Parvez on the sitar.
