This educational video depicts an inside tour of the International Space Station and hosted by NASA Astronaut Sunita (Suni) Williams orbiting the earth in zero gravity. During the overview, Sunita explains the station's structure which is divided into two pressurized modules sections, the Russian Orbital Segment (ROS) and the United States Orbital Segment (USOS), which is shared by many nations but funded by NASA until 2024. Roscosmos (РоÑ?коÑ?моÑ?), the governmental body responsible for the space science program in Russia and general aerospace research, has endorsed the continued operation of ISS through 2024, but has proposed using elements of the Russian Orbital Segment to construct a new Russian space station called OPSEK. The ESA (European Space Agency) also uses the ISS for research and experiments.
The ISS maintains an orbit with an altitude of between 330 and 435 km (205 and 270 mi) by means of re-boost maneuvers using the engines of the Zvezda module or visiting spacecraft. It completes 15.54 orbits around the earth per day.
Sunita Lyn "Suni" Williams (born September 19, 1965) is an American NASA astronaut officer of Indian-Slovenian descent and holds the records for total spacewalks by a woman (seven) and most spacewalk time for a woman (50 hours, 40 minutes). Williams was assigned to the International Space Station as a member of Expedition 14 and Expedition 15. In 2012, she served as a flight engineer on Expedition 32 and then commander of Expedition 33.

2013-04-16 - CSA Astronaut Chris Hadfield performed a simple science experiment designed by grade 10 Lockview High School students Kendra Lemke and Meredith Faulkner. International Space Station

Space station
A space station, also known as an orbital station or an orbital space station, is a spacecraft capable of supporting a crew, which is designed to remain in space (most commonly as an artificial satellite in low Earth orbit) for an extended period of time and for other spacecraft to dock. A space station is distinguished from other spacecraft used for human spaceflight by lack of major propulsion or landing systems. Instead, other vehicles transport people and cargo to and from the station. As of September 2014 two space stations are in orbit: the International Space Station, which is permanently manned, and China's Tiangong-1 (which successfully launched on September 29, 2011), which is unmanned most of the time. Previous stations include the Almaz and Salyut series, Skylab and most recently Mir.
Today's space stations are research platforms, used to study the effects of long-term space flight on the human body as well as to provide platforms for greater number and length of scientific studies than available on other space vehicles. Each crew member staying aboard the station for weeks or months, but rarely more than a year. Most of the time crew remain at station but its not necessary that crew should have to be stay at station. Since the ill-fated flight of Soyuz 11 to Salyut 1, all manned spaceflight duration records have been set aboard space stations. The duration record for a single spaceflight is 437.7 days, set by Valeriy Polyakov aboard Mir from 1994 to 1995. As of 2013, three astronauts have completed single missions of over a year, all aboard Mir.

Williams was assigned to the International Space Station as a member of Expedition 14 and Expedition 15. In 2012, she served as a flight engineer on Expedition 32 and then commander of Expedition 33.

Cameras stationed aboard the International Space Station (ISS) captured the size and magnitude of Hurricane Matthew as it was travelling northwards over northeastern Florida, Georgia and South Carolina on Friday. The states of Florida and South Carolina, as well as parts of North Carolina and Georgia, declared a state of emergency in anticipation of the hurricane. At least six people have died on the southeast coast of the US. Cameras outside the International Space Station captured new views Oct. 6 of massive Hurricane Matthew at 4:45 p.m. EDT as the outpost flew 250 miles overhead. At the time of the flyover, Matthew was moving to the northwest through the Bahamas, strengthening to a possible Category 4 hurricane that is expected strike the east coast of Florida and track up the Space Coast Oct. 7 with winds that could reach 145 miles an hour, according to the National Hurricane Center. Cameras stationed aboard the International Space Station (ISS) captured the size and magnitude of Hurricane Matthew as it was travelling northwards over northeastern Florida, Georgia and South Carolina on Friday.
The states of Florida and South Carolina, as well as parts of North Carolina and Georgia, declared a state of emergency in anticipation of the hurricane. At least six people have died on the southeast coast of the US.
Hurricane Matthew already has caused mass damage in Haiti, killing more than 800 people, and destroying some 80 percent of homes in the country's Sud area. According to the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs at least 350,000 people are in need of assistance.

In her final days as Commander of the International Space Station, Sunita Williams of NASA recorded an extensive tour of the orbital laboratory and downlinked the video on Nov. 18, just hours before she, cosmonaut Yuri Malenchenko and Flight Engineer Aki Hoshide of the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency departed in their Soyuz TMA-05M spacecraft for a landing on the steppe of Kazakhstan. The tour includes scenes of each of the station's modules and research facilities with a running narrative by Williams of the work that has taken place and which is ongoing aboard the orbital outpost.
