Kepler's 3rd law (which can be derived from Newton's law of gravitation and the centripetal force necessary for orbit as mr\omega^2=G\frac{mM}{r^2}, and using \omega=\frac{2\pi}{T}) is
T = 2pi Sqrt(r^3/(GM)) where M is the mass of the central object, G is the gravitational constant. Alternatively, we can solve for r, r = (T^2/(4pi^2) GM)^(1/3) ~ T^(2/3)/M^(1/3) = (T^2/M)^(1/3).
There is a limit (kind of like the Roche limit but for rotations). A rotating solid steel ball or other chunk of metal that has tensile strength (ie that isn't just a pile of stuff held together by gravity like most planets) would be able to spin faster.
Calculate how much of a planet's surface you can see from a given geosynchronous orbit/radius? (Obviously for lower ones you can see less, etc) - d/(2(R+d)) where d is distance to surface, ie, R is sphere radius, R+d is object radius from sphere center.
Let's plug that in with r being the geostationary orbit radius. That is, we have \frac{1}{2} \left(1- \left(\frac{4 \pi^2 R^3}{T^2 G M }\right)^{1/3}\right)
Average density of a sphere \rho is given by \rho =M/(\frac{4}{3}\pi R^3), ie \rho=\frac{3M}{4 \pi R^3} aka
\frac{M}{R^3}=\frac{4}{3}\pi \rho.
So we can convert the "fraction of planet surface seen" to
\frac{1}{2} \left(1- \left(\frac{3 \pi}{G \rho T^2}\right)^{1/3}\right)
So as either \rho or T\to \infty, the fraction goes to a maximum of \frac{1}{2}. And the point of "singularity" where the orbit coincides with the surface is where G\rho T^2=3\pi, aka \rho=\frac{3\pi}{GT^2}. For a rotation period of 3600s, that corresponds to a density \rho \approx 11000kg/m^3, which is roughly twice the density of the earth. For a rotation period of 5400s, we have \rho\approx 4800kg/m^3, which is basically the density of the earth.
Alternately, if we plug the density of the earth in to an orbit of period 5400s, we get as a fraction of the planet seen:
\frac{1}{2} \left(1- \left(\frac{3 \pi}{G \rho T^2}\right)^{1/3}\right) = 0.02
aka 2\% of the earth's surface.

Vodafone, which has made a groundbreaking development in mobile communication, successfully made the world's first video call via satellite. This test call, which was made at the company headquarters in Newbury, England, was made directly with a smartphone without the need for traditional base stations.
Are satellite calls the technology of the future?
This historic call was made by Vodafone CEO Margherita Della Valle using a smartphone that did not require any terrestrial connection. The test was carried out in rural areas of England and low-orbit satellite (LEO) systems developed by Vodafone in collaboration with AST SpaceMobile were used to provide the connection.

A satellite is any object that revolves in a curved path around a planet.
There are two major types of categorization when it comes down to satellites, one is natural Satellite and the other is artificial satellite.
A Natural Satellite is any celestial body in space that orbits around a larger body.
Satellites that are made by people and launched into orbit using rockets are called Artificial Satellites.
TYPES OF satellite orbits:
By Inclination,
Equatorial orbit:
An equatorial orbit is when the satellite rotates in an orbit directly above the equator,
usually in a circular path. with an equatorial orbit, the angle of inclination is 00 degrees.
It has an inclination of 0°.
Inclined orbit:
Inclined orbits are virtually all orbits except those that travel directly above the equator or directly above the North and South Poles. The angle of inclination vary between 0 to 180 degrees.
Polar orbit:
A polar orbit is when the satellite rotates in a path that takes it over the North and South Poles in an orbital pattern that is perpendicular to the equatorial plane.Polar orbiting satellites follow a low altitude path close to earth’s surface, passing over and very close to both the North and South Poles.
The angle of inclination of a satellite in a polar orbit is nearly 90 degrees.
On the basis of the altitude from Earth, the types of orbits are classified into:
• Low Earth orbit (LEO):
Low earth orbit satellites operate at a distance of about 160 to 2,000 kilometres above the earth's surface.
It takes approximately 90 to 120 minutes to circle the Earth.
• Medium earth orbit (MEO):
Medium earth orbit is the region of space around the Earth above low Earth orbit and below geostationary orbit.
The orbital periods of Medium earth orbit satellites range from about two to six hours.
This satellite operates at altitudes between 2,000 kilometers and 35,786 kilometers above the earth’s surface.
• Geostationary earth orbit (GEO):
A geostationary satellite is an earth-orbiting satellite. it placed at an altitude of approximately 35,786 kilometers directly over the equator, that revolves in the same direction the earth rotates that means west to east.
This satellite takes 24 hours to orbit the Earth.
Orbits are also classified into two types on the basis of the shape:
• Circular orbit
• Elliptical orbit
Circular orbit:
Circular orbit is the orbit with a fixed distance around the barycenter, that is, in the shape of a circle. This orbits has an eccentricity of 0.
There are several types of circular orbits and they include:
• Geostationary Orbit
• Polar Orbit
• Equatorial orbit
Elliptical Orbit:
An elliptical orbit is the revolving of one object around another in an oval-shaped path called an ellipse.
The eccentricity of an elliptical orbit is greater than 0 but less than 1.
Sometimes these satellites are closer, and at other times they are farther away from earth.
The closest point a satellite comes to Earth is called its perigee.
The farthest point is the apogee.
The most common example of elliptical orbit is highly elliptical orbit.
Types of artificial satellites
Navigation satellite:
A satellite navigation system used to determine the ground position of an object.
It determines the geographic location of ships, aircrafts, or any other object.
It is also vital to military forces.
It is often used for gathering intelligence used for military purposes or as a military weapon.
Weather satellite:
Weather satellites are primarily used-
✓ to monitor the weather and climate of the Earth.
✓ to predict daily weather conditions, such as temperature and rainfall.
✓ to monitor how weather conditions, like storms, hurricanes, cyclone, tropical storms,
develop and change over time.
Communications satellite
The communication satellite is a satellite that transmits the signals such as telephone, television, radio, internet signals over long distances.

This historic call was made by Vodafone CEO Margherita Della Valle using a smartphone that did not require any terrestrial connection. The test was carried out in rural areas of England and low-orbit satellite (LEO) systems developed by Vodafone in collaboration with AST SpaceMobile were used to provide the connection.
Unlike traditional satellite phones, thanks to Vodafone's new technology, users will be able to make calls with a standard smartphone without requiring any additional hardware or special devices. The system works over a special satellite network called BlueBird and can reach data transmission speeds of up to 120 Mbps.
Vodafone announced that it aims to make this technology commercially available across Europe by 2026 after the tests are successfully completed. This system is of great importance especially for rural areas where mobile coverage is inadequate and for emergencies.
The company also states that this new technology will provide seamless integration with existing 4G and 5G networks. Users will be able to automatically switch between the traditional network and the satellite network and maintain their connection even outside of the coverage area.
