OECD work on privacy

Since the mid-1970s, the OECD has played an important role in promoting respect for privacy as a fundamental value and a condition for the free flow of personal data across borders. 

The cornerstone of OECD work on privacy is its newly revised Guidelines on the Protection of Privacy and Transborder Flows of Personal Data (2013).
