Your guide to Riverfire 2016: The best vantage spots across Brisbane

Riverfire is expected to draw about 485,000 people to the Brisbane River on Saturday, so let us help you get the best out of your night under the fireworks.

The sky show will be hard to miss, with five tonnes of fireworks being used on two bridges, six barges and 10 building rooftops.

Riverfire to explode on Saturday night

The $16 million Riverfire spectacular will feature 11 tonnes of fireworks in Brisbane on Saturday night. Nine News

However, to get a good spot the key is to get there early. As for where you should go, here are the traditional hot spots and the not-so-secret secret spots to watch the event.

The actual fireworks will run for 20 minutes, starting at 7.05pm, but there will also be a flyover of some of the Australian Defence Force's elite air fleet late in the afternoon.

The event is alcohol free and viewers are advised not to bring pets as it gets loud and bright. Public transport is the best option to get around on the night, but the CityCat may experience delays during the event.
