I use a washing machine that's in an apartment building. I use the cleaner before I wash my bedding and towels. I read the comments about the smell which, while overwheming while it's cleaning the washer, only seems to last for the first load after the washer has been cleaned. I too don't use fragrances but I can handle this one knowing the machine is cleaner before I do sheets and towels. I'm happy with the product and have been using over a year now.

I purchased 2 boxes. I hate to admit it, but I think my top-load washer could have used this years ago! I have used 5 "rounds" of the washing machine cleaner, and it hasn't done a thing on the visible grime! I followed the directions precisely on the first 3 rounds, and have started to get creative for the next few (one right after the other, letting it soak, etc.).

I think this product may be helpful in maintaining a clean washer, but it doesn't seem to be doing squat as far as getting off the pre-existing grime.

THIS CLEANER WORKS REALLY WELL. IT MAKES THE WHOLE SMALL LAUNDRY ROOM SMELL FRESH AND MAKES INSIDE OF MACHINE SMELL SO GOOD AND STEAMY. ITS TOO BAD IT CAN'T CLEAN WHILE YOU WASH CLOTHES. VERY EASY TO USE. POUR CONTENTS SET MACHINE TO WASH NORMAL AND HOT WATER THAT'S IT.

The issue with front loaders is that the water doesn't drain well and can lead to build up and residue that can create a funky smell. If your machine is already funky, use 1 pouch a week for 3 weeks and it should knock out the funk. We use this once a month to keep ours fresh and it really works.

Our front load clothes washer had been visibly showing some mold on the rubber seal at the door, and gave off a foul odor when turning on the water flow to start a new washing load. The Tide Washing Machine Cleaner gave marked improvements to the appearance and aroma of the clothes washer, even after the first use! After the 3rd use (for the initial cleaning cycle, as directed on the box), the foul odor was gone and only minimal mold spots remained. The only down side for us was the over-powering Tide brand smell that persisted for several days after using the washing machine cleaner. We use a non-perfumed detergent and aren't accustomed to such a scent.

I was hoping for it to do what it said. Something about cleaning the washer. It smelled up the whole house and all my laundry. Since my purchase, I have run the 2 1/2 hour sanitize cycle on my washer with a cup of bleach and it still stinks. Please don't sell this product again. Don't buy it either.

I just got this tide washer cleaner in the mail today. I followed the directions on the box and had great results! I have a 3 year old front loader washer that started to get mold around the rubber seal ( that I could see) and after the first use of this product today I can see and smell noticeable results! In the past I have tried scrubbing with bleach and running bleach through the washer but this tide product has done a much better job at cleaning the washer. Best part is no scrubbing! Just run the cleaner like a regular load of laundry!
