  • 2016 Zombie Microservices Roadshow

    This event is recurring

    Scenario:

A widespread viral infection transmitted through bites that cause human corpses to reanimate and try to eat other living humans has caused the fall of civilization as we know it. This epidemic (the “Zombie Apocalypse”) has spread through every major metropolitan area around the world.

In order to fight this battle, we invite you with great urgency to register and join an AWS Zombie Microservices Workshop to rebuild what remains of our great civilization.

    Mission Details:

The AWS Lambda Signal Corps has built a communications system with a serverless architecture using AWS Lambda, Amazon DynamoDB, and Amazon API Gateway to connect remaining survivors. Over the next few months, the remaining members of my team will be travelling across the world to deliver a workshop on how to build this communications system. We'll introduce the basics of building microservices using AWS Lambda and Amazon API Gateway.

We are looking to you and your team to add additional life saving features (e.g. food cache locations, panic buttons, SMS integration) to the chat platform. Food and drink rations, as well as AWS Lambda Signal Corps standard-issue uniforms will be distributed to all recruits who attend.

  • Compute Evolved | AWS Loft Architecture Week | New York

    When: Sep 6, 2016 @ 10:00 AM EST – Sep 8, 2016 @ 5:00 PM EST
Where: New York AWS Pop-up Loft

Application architectures have fundamentally changed over the past decade and have evolved towards building a single application as a set of small stateless services. The shift to these architectures has also demanded new compute primitives that enable faster and immutable deployments of stateless applications: containers and serverless.

Containers allow you to easily package your application into easy to use building blocks that deliver environmental consistency and enable more streamlined developer workflows. Serverless architectures allow you to build and run applications without needing to provision, manage, and scale infrastructure.

Over this week, we will explore how you can leverage the AWS platform to build containerized and serverless applications. We will also demonstrate how you can build a range of applications from data processing systems to web applications. Hear from customers on how they are using Amazon ECS and AWS Lambda for their production needs.
