About the Museum Shop
Visitors to the Museum can leave with more than their memories. The NMAAHC shop offers a thoughtful selection of items that all, in their own way, speak to the vision of the Museum. Every age and budget are represented, with an assortment of T-shirts, caps, sports balls, jewelry, scarves, bags, ornaments, and books. There are African American dolls, a Gullah Gourmet section, Kwanzaa gifts, and more.
Many of the products reflect the histories woven into the Museum. Quilts from Gee’s Bend, Alabama. Sweetgrass baskets from South Carolina’s Low Country. There are products inspired by the show-stopping hats of Mae Reeves and by the heart-stopping dances of Alvin Ailey. Products showcasing the Museum’s distinctive architectural corona are available, including some based on lead designer’s David Adjaye’s conceptual drawings.
In many cases, the Smithsonian’s product development team collaborated with the Museum’s curators to create exceptional products. In all cases, the offerings will provide visitors with meaningful keepsakes that enhance the significance of their Museum visit.
