In an exclusive interview with the BBC's Middle East Editor Jeremy Bowen, Mr Assad denied that his forces had dropped barrel bombs indiscriminately on rebel-held areas, killing thousands of civilians, and dismissed as propaganda a statement by the UN that his government often blocks access to besieged areas for relief organisations. The Syrian leader also denied that there was a direct dialogue with the US-led coalition fighting Islamic State but confirmed that "general messages" were sometimes passed via third parties. Tras el fracaso del cese al fuego apoyado por Rusia y Estados Unidos, la violencia en Siria se ha recrudecido y siguen sin tener una solución visible. El presidente del país árabe, Bashar Al Asad habló en una entrevista con Associated Press, en la que negó que la ciudad de Aleppo esté bajo asedio por parte de las fuerzas del régimen. El mandatario a quien se responsabiliza de las más de 400.000 víctimas mortales del conflicto, insiste en que no ha impedido la llegada de ayuda humanitaria a la ciudad de Aleppo, por su parte, la ONU ha denunciado que camiones con provisiones están bloqueados en la frontera con Turquía y pidió al gobierno sirio que permita sus paso antes de que los víveres caduquen el día lunes.

Syria's president has condemned the United States for not committing to a ceasefire int he war-torn country. Bashar al-Assad added that he believes the US has not been genuine regarding the recent cessation of violence negotiated by the UN. During an interview, al-Assad insisted that his military and Russia's military are not responsible for a recent airstrike that targeted an aid convoy. The airstrike killed 12 aid workers near the city of Aleppo earlier in the week.
