TMZ

TMZ is a celebrity news website that debuted on November 8, 2005. It was a collaboration between AOL and Telepictures Productions, a division of Warner Bros., until Time Warner divested AOL in 2009. The name TMZ stands for thirty-mile zone, the historic "studio zone" within a 30-mile (50 km) radius centered at the intersection of West Beverly Boulevard and North La Cienega Boulevard in Los Angeles, California.

TMZ's managing editor is Harvey Levin, a lawyer-turned-journalist who was previously a legal expert for the Los Angeles television station KCBS-TV. The site claims that it does not pay for stories or interviews; however, Levin has admitted that TMZ does "sometimes pay sources for leads on stories". Levin has stated that "everything is researched and vetted for accuracy." A companion television series, TMZ on TV, debuted on September 10, 2007.

Development

Seven months prior to the official launch of TMZ, America Online (AOL) had hinted that it was planning to launch a Hollywood and entertainment-centric news site that would be produced in conjunction with Telepictures Productions and had shown interest in launching a website featuring a focus mainly on celebrities. At the time of the launch, AOL confirmed that the site would primarily feature and consist of Hollywood gossip, including interviews, photos and video footage of celebrities and information pertaining to industry news on movies, television shows, etc. The site was described as "an effort to further feed the current American obsession with celebrities". Mike Shields of MediaWeek.com wrote, "the site also boasts of an expansive collection of archived star photos and videos", allowing fans to "trace changing hairlines and waistlines of their favorites performers over the years".

Ben Savage

Bennett Joseph "Ben" Savage (born September 13, 1980) is an American actor. He is best known for his lead role as Cory Matthews on the ABC sitcom Boy Meets World (1993–2000) and its Disney Channel spin-off series Girl Meets World (2014–present).

Early life

Savage was born in Highland Park, Illinois, the son of Joanne and Lewis Savage, who were an industrial real estate broker and a consultant. His brother is actor/director Fred Savage, and his sister is actress/musician Kala Savage. His grandparents were Jewish and from Poland, Ukraine, Germany, and Latvia, and Savage was raised in Reform Judaism.

Career

Savage made his film debut at the age of 9 in his brother Fred's hit Little Monsters (1989) and appeared in the feature films Big Girls Don't Cry... They Get Even (1992), as Sam, the brainy little brother, and as a 10-year-old in Clifford (1994), the latter starring Martin Short. Savage's stage debut was in The Laughter Epidemic at the Pasadena Playhouse. He also guest starred on his brother Fred's TV series The Wonder Years in the Valentine's Day episode.

Little Britain

Little Britain is a British character-based comedy sketch show which was first broadcast on BBC radio and then turned into a television show. It was written and performed by comic duo David Walliams and Matt Lucas. The show's title is an amalgamation of the terms 'Little England' and 'Great Britain', and is also the name of a Victorian neighbourhood and a modern street in London.

The show comprised sketches involving exaggerated parodies of British people from all walks of life in various situations familiar to the British people. These sketches were presented to the viewer together with narration in a manner which suggested that the programme is a guide—aimed at non-British people—to the ways of life of various classes of British society. Despite the narrator's description of great British institutions, the comedy is derived from the British audience's self-deprecating understanding of either themselves or people known to them. The show was also a huge ratings success, receiving 9.5 million viewers after moving to BBC One in 2005.

Too Bad

"Too Bad" is a single by the Canadian rock band Nickelback, the second one from their 2001 album, Silver Side Up. The single was released in late 2001. It peaked at number 42 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart and number 1 on the Mainstream Rock Tracks chart.

Song meaning

The lyrics were written by the band's singer and guitarist Chad Kroeger and deals with the issues he felt growing up without his father, who abandoned him at age two.

Music video

A music video was made for the song showing the band playing in the "Woodley Sawmill". A picture of the father and his son standing next to a truck is shown. The father leaves his family and his son seems to be the most impacted. After years pass, he and his mother get into a fight ending with him leaving. He speeds down a dirt road where several flashbacks appear and distracted he crashes into a wooden post, breaking his leg. The music stops for a moment when his father receives a phone call telling him about the accident, then starts again. He is brought back to his house, where he sees his father sitting at the table, and the two walk out to the father's truck. The song ends with the picture shown at the beginning of the video shown again.
